Chapter Three
Evan was walking down the street to school. His mother's car broke down and since the school wasn't that far, he decided to walk.
Evan wasn't afraid because he knew that someone is waiting for him.
Jonathan.
His Jonathan. His special friend. Evan hugged his owl plushie tighter, making the little stuffed animal squeak.
He wasn't afraid of the big kids as long as he was there, standing tall as a building protecting him from damage. Jonathan was like his hero the past month.
Evan had been bullied by many first graders, since he got so much attention by the popular girls.
Evan didn't know any of the girls and stuck to Jonathan, as if he was a untouchable wall.
Jonathan would give them a glare whenever they would surround the little loving owl plushie kindergartener.
Evan looked at the cherry blossoms as their pedals scattered the floor below his shiny shoes.
The cool, morning breeze blew the hairs off Evan's face. Evan looked around and spotted someone.
It was a girl.
Not an ordinary girl.
This one had blue sky hair, blue ocean eyes, and blue headphones with a question mark aside of it. Her hair covered her left eye.
Evan wondered where she is going, until she saw what she was wearing.
His school's uniform. She might be going to the same school. (Not gonna get between Jonathan and Evan!)
Evan wondered if she was new, but brushed it off as he spotted a certain someone waving to him with a goofy toothy smile.
"Evan! Over here!" Jonathan laughed.
Evan heart started to race. His cheeks flushed and his stomach started feeling weird and tingly.
Jonathan ran to him and hugged him tightly.
"Hey Evy-bear!" Jonathan said as Evan wrapped his small arms around his neck.
"Hey Jonathan!" Evan felt complete, like a puzzle with its final piece. Evan blushed as Jonathan offered his hand for him to hold. Evan took it and giggled at the little hand warmly wrapped around his.
Evan and Jonathan walked hand and hand to their school.
As they were happily talking to each other about the homework, family, and what they did over the weekend, they stumbled upon little Craig sobbing his eyes out.
Evan and Jonathan made their way quickly to the crying child without breaking contact.
Jonathan slightly kneel down to Craig because he was some what taller than him and Evan patted his shoulder.
"What's wrong Craig?" Evan asked. Craig wiped his tears with his sleeves and rearranged his round glasses.
"I can't find Twler... Evan help me find him! I can't go to school without him." Evan looked around if there were any signs of the boy's partner.
Evan looked around with Craig by his side, since he didn't want anyone but Tyler to hold his tiny hand. Jonathan looked around and ended up looking behind a bush.
There, Tyler was with a blonde haired little girl who was twiddling her hair around her finger. Jonathan listened closely.
"Twler~ I love you so much!" The girl said smirking and leaned over to him.
"Don't call me that."
"But that miniature twat calls you that and you don't get annoyed!" She barked. Tyler's cheeks went tint pink.
"It's because he is special." Tyler said scratching the back of his neck nervously. The girl went wide eyed.
"So he's more special than me~? Aww man well I can change that!" The girl then got closer and kissed his cheek. Craig passed Jonathan's hiding spot and Evan was behind breathless attempt to catch him. Jonathan got ahold of Evan and looked at Craig. He was looking at the two and has tears in his eyes. His hands on his little chest. He then shook his head and ran the opposite way.
Tyler then lightly pushed away the girl.
"YOU POOP HEAD! LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO MY MINI!" He yelled.
The girl looked at him scared and dumbfounded. Tyler had tears in his eyes as well and ran off to find his best friend. Evan and Jonathan ran off behind him.
"Can't believe Tyler said poop face to a girl!" Evan said.
"Well, when it comes to Craig in tears, he gets pretty mad. He once said to me 'butt face'" Evan gasped and Jonathan nodded.
Just then, they were stopped by the girl that Evan saw walking to school. Up close, she had curly light blue hair. Eyes dull, blue and emotionless.
Jonathan looked at her and placed Evan behind him.
"You should leave them alone. They need space." Her voice was raspy, like it hasn't been used in so long. Jonathan looked at the running Tyler. His pig hat fell off and was abandoned on the ground. Evan grabbed it and looked at the girl. He smiled and nodded to her.
"So, what's your name?"
-------
Tyler looked everywhere for the round glasses boy.
He then heard sobbing under the slide. Tyler then peeked and saw Craig balled up with red puffy eyes. Tyler kneeled and tapped him. Craig glanced and looked away.
"LEAVE ME ALONE!" He yelled, making Tyler flinch. Tyler puffed and hugged him tightly. Craig, wide eyes and tears in his eyes, relaxed.
"I love you too much to see you cry Craigy." Tyler blushed knowing he is no good expressing emotions to others, especially Craig. "She liked me, but I didn't like her back." He said looking at him face to face, wiping a tear away. Craig grabbed his hand and kissed his palm. Tyler smiled.
"You what I like about you?" Craig raised his eyebrows.
"What?"
"Your smile."
Craig blushed for a minute and snorted, pushing Tyler's face. Tyler grabbed him by the waist and pulled him towards him.
"There's my laughy Craigy!" He said lifting the little boy up. Craig blushing, holding his arms. Evan and Jonathan arrived and blushed slightly.
"Stop Twler your embarrassing me in front of Evan and Jonathan."
Evan and Jonathan soon left and decided to look for the strange girl leaving the two alone.
