My dear cowboy
SMG4 aimed his gun down range and took a deep breath. He narrowed his eyes as he focused in on the target and released a full round of shots, all of them missing.
"Argh goddam it!!" He shouted, throwing his pistol on the ground in anger.
The whole town of Western Spaghetti had been training all day in order to prepare for the attack of One Shot Wren but almost non of them had been successful.
Sure, Karen had mastered the shotgun and there was always Desti who knew a thing or two about sharp shooting but aside from them and Meggy, it wasn't looking too good. Even sheriff Swag had abandoned his duties upon hearing about Wren's soon to be arrival.
The chances of winning this battle were slim to none. If anyone in this town had common sense they'd have packed up and left along with Chris and Swag but the fear of leaving their only home scared the townsfolk. At least enough to encourage them to fight back, no matter how likely they were to loose.
"Okay, one more time Four... you got this."
He picked up his pistol and reloaded it. Four raised the weapon once again but then heard the SNAP! of a twig behind him.
His eyes darted to the source of the noise as he swivelled around where he stood, aiming his gun at the sheltered area of the gun range.
"W-who's there?" Four asked, his hands shaky as his eyes darted around the shelter, keeping an eye out for any sign of movement.
Was it One Shot Wren? Had he come a few hours earlier? Planning an attack at night when everyone's guards were down??
Four clicked the safety mode off of his pistol just in case.
Finally, a figure emerged from behind the shelter.
"Calm down Scrub. It's just me."
Four's body instantly relaxed and he lowered his gun.
"Oh, hey Three. What you doing out here?" Four asked
"I could ask you the same thing." Three smiled, walking over to his friend.
"Well I just figured that a bit of extra gun practice before tomorrow couldn't hurt. One Shot Wren is apparently quite the shooter and I'd rather not be completely helpless when he arrives." Four smiled awkwardly at Three. "Why are you out here?"
"Came looking for you." He said nonchalantly.
"Really?"
Four was surprised by this. Although the two weren't enemies, they weren't exactly close friends either. Sure, they spent a lot of time together but a lot of that time was spent pointlessly squabbling. Weirdly enough, Four actually quite enjoyed Three's company. Their back and forth banter was something he was happy he could share with the man.
"Well yeah." Three said, snapping Four out of his thoughts, "kept hearing gunshots over here and I just assumed you'd be the only one dumb enough to stay up this late shooting in the dark."
"Wren is coming tomorrow and we are all severely underprepared for this fight. Every little bit of practice helps." Four insisted.
"Well then, I'm sure you won't mind me joining you." SMG3 smirked, pulling out some small bombs.
SMG4 smiled at him, "I thought Meggy told us we had to use guns?"
"What does that ginger know?! She's still convinced Wren is a good guy! Plus, guns are for wimps. Explosions are way cooler." Three said.
"Alright man whatever you say." Four gave his friend a soft smile and turned back to the targets, raising his gun once again.
For the next hour or so, the two cowboys kept attacking the wooden targets. SMG4 relentlessly fired round after round of pistol shots whilst SMG3 threw all sorts of dynamite and explosives. But no matter how many rounds of bullets or bombs they used, barely any of their shots were actually landing.
"Arghh dammit!! How does Meggy do this so easily?!" Four groaned in frustration. Three looked at him.
"Let me take a look." He said, walking over to the other. "Show me what stance you're doing."
Four did as he was told and raised his gun, legs firmly planted in the ground whilst his other arm hung by his side.
The moon was the only thing illuminating him as it shone off of his gun. His cowboy hat was almost covering his eyes from this angle as he made eye contact with Three.
"I don't get what I'm doing wrong! This is how Meggy does it." Four sighed.
Three made sure to take his sweet time taking in the sight before him. My god how did Four look even more beautiful than normal?? His gorgeous blue eyes shot straight through Three's heart like cupids' arrow; his dark hair that was covered by the cowboy hat looks so soft and pretty, which is saying A LOT considering they're in the Wild West and a good hair routine is hard to come by. Three admired Four's face; his cute little nose that Three wanted to patronisingly boop so many times; his slightly chubby cheeks that Three could leave a hundred
kisses on if he was only given the chance; and of course there were lips, resting on his face in a straight line, occasionally tugging into a smile. Oh what SMG3 wouldn't do to feel those lips against his own...
"I think I see what your problem is," Three said, quickly shooing his thoughts away. "You aren't supporting your weapon with your other hand and the recoil is affecting how you shoot. Here, let me show you..."
Suddenly, Three stepped behind SMG4 and wrapped his arms around him. From behind, he traced his hand down SMG4's arms until he found his hand, holding the gun. Three gripped the back of Fours hands and guided them to the proper shooting position.
Four froze up at the contact as his face turned a deep red. The feeling of having Three so close to him, with his back pressed directly to the other man's front... oh man, it just sent Four's heart into overdrive.
Sure, Four had always considered Three to be attractive and the two tended to get a little flirtatious when drunk but that was it! Okay, maybe he'd occasionally glance at Three when he was making bombs or hauling barrels of gunpowder around but could you blame him?! Three had always been a pretty sight! And now that he felt the purple man firmly grip the back of his hands and move them to their proper position, head resting on Four's shoulder as he tried to get the gun lined up with the target... well, it's no wonder he was so flustered.
"That should be about right." Three said, eyes focused on the target. "Try shooting now."
"O-okay..."
Three's hands stayed where they were as Four pulled the trigger six times, every shot hitting the wooden target.
"I... I did it!!" Four celebrated.
Three smirked at him. "Knew you'd get it eventually scrub."
Three let go and went back over to his bomb. But Four immediately missed the contact between the two.
"W-wait! I, err... would it be okay if you helped me for just one or two more rounds of bullets?" Four smiled nervously, face red.
Three raised an eyebrow to this as he looked the man up and down.
"M'Kay." He shrugged.
Four silently breathed a sigh of relief and reloaded his pistol. Three stepped behind him once again and wrapped his arms around him, holding his hands as he gently guided them to their previous position. Four blushed at how close Three was to him but tried not m to let it distract him as he aimed his gun.
"Alright, just get it lined up. Then... fire!" Three spoke in a low tone, causing Four to shudder.
He did as he was told and fired the first shot.
"Great. Now again." Three said, his voice barely a whisper.
SMG4 took note of Three's head resting on his shoulder as he instructed him. His face was getting redder by the minute and he hesitated before firing his second shot.
Noticing this, Three glanced up at Four. His eyes widened slightly as he saw how flustered his friend had become. Face red, breathing hitched and avoiding eye contact at all costs.
Ah. I see what's going on here.
Three smirked to himself and leant in closer, pretending not to notice as Four tensed up slightly.
"Get ready for your next shot..." he whispered, his hot breath leaving a tingling sensation on Four's neck.
"O-okay..." Four managed to mumble as he fired again.
Bang.
"Hey, uhh... Three? Can I... ask you something?" Four said timidly. Trying his hardest to not let it show through how flustered he truly was.
"Of course, anything." Three said, nonchalantly.
"Is there... a reason you came looking for me out here?" Four asked. "It's just you've never done it before when I've stayed up late so I was just curious if something happened?" Four tilted his head to look at Three but the other meme guardian immediately grabbed his chin and forced him to face forward as they talked.
Four blushed at the contact and Three sighed.
"Yeah... I suppose there was a reason of some kind." Three admitted.
Bang
"What was it?" Four asked.
Three was silent for a moment before letting out a breath.
"Tomorrow, the most feared bandit in the Wild West is coming to our town to massacre. No matter how hard we try and how many townspeople fight back, there is no world where everyone in Western Spaghetti comes out of it alive. For many of us, it's our last night alive. And we don't even know for who."
Three looked to Four as he released his hands, trailing his own hands to hold Four's forearms.
Bang
"There's no guarantee either of us will make it through tomorrow. So in the likely event that one of us dies... I don't want to have any regrets beforehand."
"And what regrets might you have...?" Four asked.
The blue cowboy had his eyes on the target as he listened to SMG3 talk. He narrowed his gaze and prepared to fire the last bullet.
Three looked at him, really taking in how intimate their current position was. They were so close he could practically feel his breath against Four's neck. His hands holding Four's arms as their bodies were pressed together. Three could feel his own heart beating faster by the second and he moved one hand to partly cup Four's face.
"Well... I might regret this." He said before swiftly leaning in and planting a single kiss on Four's cheek.
The sudden, unexpected act of affection caused Four to accidentally fire his last bullet, missing his target once again.
Bang
Three stepped back and smiled at Four as he stared back at him. Blushing and wide-eyed in the face.
"I- uh... w-what... why did you...?"
"You missed." SMG3 said with a smirk.
"B-because you distracted me!!" Four angrily blushed.
"What, you think there won't be distractions tomorrow? You're gonna have to be able to still shoot straight even with these distractions~" Three stepped closer to Four and took his hands in his own.
Four blushed and looked away, a bashful smile on his face.
It took a few moments before he was able to compose himself enough to speak.
"So, uhm... Three? You know how you said you don't want us to die with any regrets?" He said.
"Yeah?"
"Well... neither do I."
Four gave Three's hands a squeeze as his face slowly reddened again.
"So, why don't you kiss me like you won't regret it?" Four said firmly.
Three was taken aback by his forwardness but didn't waste a second as he moved closer to Four and connected their lips in a passionate kiss. Three moved his hands to cup Four's face as he deepened the kiss. Four let out a surprised whimper and snaked his arms up to wrap around Three's neck. They kissed each other with so much passion that anyone would think it was the last kiss they would ever share. Although to them, it very well could be.
Their kiss didn't take long to go from passionate to heated as Three began to work his tongue into Four's mouth, causing the other to let out a muffled moan. Four pulled Three closer to him, the desperation clear in his actions. They stumbled backwards until Four's back hit the gun range's shelter, finally giving him something to lean on.
Three pushed Four against the shelter and leaned over him, his hands beginning to wander over the other's chest. Four gasped as Three snuck his hand under Four's shirt and left a trail of light touches against the skin.
As he did this, Three moved away from Four's lips and instead started to attack his neck with his rough kisses.
Four struggled to hold back a moan as Three bit down on a sensitive spot on his neck and began to suck.
"T-Three...~ w-wait..." he managed to say.
Three immediately stopped nibbling at his neck and pulled away, leaving a hicky mark on Four's neck.
"Everything okay?" He asked.
Four took a moment to catch his breath before he sat up and wiped the saliva away from him mouth.
"Y-yeah I'm fine. I just..." Four smiled playfully at him and lightly pushed Three back. "Wouldn't you rather wait until after the shoot out tomorrow? You know... something to look forward to~"
Three shuddered as Four traced his fingers on his chest and gave him a teasing smirk.
"But what if we... y'know... loose tomorrow?" Three asked.
Four smiled and gave him a peck in the lips.
"Well then I guess we'd better not~"
