That same week. News are approaching.

My life was on the limbo, literally. I was doing some homework while my mom was on her friend's house. She told me that she would be home early but honestly, she is a liar. It's been more than 3 hours and when I called her, she just is mad at me for being so spoiled brat. Well, you spoiled me mother. Now pay for it.
I'm going to miss her so bad, for real. She was going the next week and what would I do without her? I was going to live with my father but our relationship is just so, zero. Like we never talked about real things. I'm scared and frankly a little ashamed to tell him about my friends or anything related to me.
This thing in my life is getting just bigger, and I am only 16 years old.
My head just said to me "enough of crap", so I grabbed a book and started to read.

The next day I went, as always, to the classroom. Lara was with Veronica and her friends, Marie and Flavia. I went to talk with Lara but her friends just sat down and invited me to hang with them. How could I say no to my future sister-in-law?
Everything was working fine until Alex came, and sat with us.
Man, don't you see we are chatting so nicely before you came?
And Veronica didn't tell him a thing. If it was me I'd literally kick him out. Anyways, when he sat, he looked at me.
-How are you doing Anne? Preparing to flirt with my brother?
-Always disgusting, Alex- I said.
-He is not lying tho. Joshua is officially done with her- replied Veronica.
-Why did they break up? I mean, I never heard about cheating- asked Marie.
-Cheating is not exactly the reason, that didn't happen. Is just that, she is really toxic.
-Joshua was just really tired of her. And honestly, I don't think he is in the mood of a new relationship- replied Veronica.
Flavia laughed and asked: "Who on earth would like to have a relationship like, right now? We are young, and there are so many people to meet and, the idea of stucking with someone. Come on, it's ridiculous".
And that thing just made me wonder, what if I just hang out with Joshua. Nothing serious, just like friends.
-Flavia, we are not all sinners like you- said Lara, -and besides, if Anne wants to talk to Joshua, let her. Or bring Joshua and let's see what he thinks of her.
Alex's eyes were brighten by that idea. I just tried to relax.
-No, no no. I'll do it in my way, and that means just to text him on some social media. Like Instagram, maybe?
They all stared at me.
-All I know is, if you talk to him, he'll be glad to meet you. He is real cool tho- said Alex.
-He seems just so serious.
Veronica laughed at my statement.
-Is the same as his brother. Only less sexy.
And they started to eat each other in front of us. Disgusting.

When classes were done, I headed to Roxanne's house. She was kinda sick this morning and invited me to lunch after school, so luckily (but weird), I got my mom's permission. When I arrived, I found Scott, Roxie's boyfriend.
He just greeted me and got out of her house.
-Roxie! I'm here!
-Come upstairs! -she screamed.
When I found her, she was crying.
-What happened Roxie? Are you all right?
She just showed me her pregnancy test. It was positive.
-I really don't know what to do. If my father find this out he'll kicked me out.
-Why don't you abort?
-Scott went to buy me something, you know, natural to produce the abortion. Otherwise he'll need to find a clinic or hospital, whatever.
-What did he say?
-He wants to have this baby, a lot. But it is going to ruin my life! I didn't finish school yet and he hasn't go to college. We can't give us the chance to be parents right now. Besides, we'll be kicked out.
Scott is older than Roxanne, but the only thing he has done since he finished high school was to work. And they live together because her father approved it. But they have nothing and no one if her father decide to kick them out.
And she was right, for me she was making the right choice. A pregnancy taken care by a teenager who is about to turn 17, is too much. What can she possibly give to that baby, on this economy?
I knew this was going to happen, they were playing a lot on and with fire. They were irresponsible, but the baby doesn't have to pay for the consequences. Is just not fair.
And to give it on adoption is even harder. To find the right family or to never find it and end up alone, nobody as a mother would like that for her child.
She might not be a maternal girl but she is not an ice cold either.
-I will look for clinics right now, maybe there is one and we can go right away.
-Let's wait for Scott. Maybe something natural is better. Besides, I might be pregnant for less than 7 weeks.
We were there, talking about nothing, just in silence. She then asked me things about today. I told her the news.
-Darling, what are you waiting for! You have to talk to him. He knows you but, you are not his friend. Besides, it's never too late or too soon. If something bad happens, you just gotta fix it.
Yeah, I know, is really easy to fix a fucking pregnancy.
-I just, I don't want him to think that I am needy or something.
-And why on earth he would think that? You never acted like that and you won't will because is just not part of you. Chill out and text him.
-Why are we talking about Joshua? We need to talk about this baby.
-Is not a baby, and it is not going to be. Scott would be here in any minute.
We waited for more than half an hour. Scott hasn't returned Roxie's calls and we started to be worried about him.
And then Lia, Scott's sister, called her.
-Lia! What's up?
Roxie started to cry, again. She hung up and got out of her bed.
-Scott had an accident. A car accident.
We went to the hospital as fast as we could.

-Mom!
-Hi darling, where is Roxie?
-She is talking with Scott's mom. They are doing kind of fine I guess.
-Say goodbye Anne, we have to go home.
I went with Roxie, and luckily she was calm. She told me that Scott has nothing but a broken leg and bruises around his chest. And maybe the face with some scratches. Scott would be staying for a couple of days at the hospital, so Roxie asked me to help her with school.
-What happened exactly Anne? You were with her all afternoon and part of evening. Is 8 p.m. You said it was lunch.
-Mom, we were gossiping around, you know, and then the thing with Scott, she got really crazy about it...
-What kind of gossip was that? It took all your time, huh?
Geez mom, relax.
Of course, I told her about Joshua. Never gonna tell her that Roxie got pregnant.
After I finished, she said:
-Well sweetie, look; don't force things. Start talking, be friends, hang out, but only if he wants to. A man will tell what he wants by the gestures and words. Let him be the one to catch you after. Don't be so easy and the most important, don't rush it. He probably is kind of sad, or down right now. Don't talk about his ex.
-I swear I wasn't going to mom. But thank you, I really appreciate this. You know that I'm gonna miss you, right?
She just hugged me and try so hard not to cry.
