Nightmare

It was a rare occurrence that Jungkook had to work on a Saturday, but it was always a downer when he did. The weekends had become sacred for the family to spend some much needed time together so when one of those days were taken away it hit all of them hard, especially Asami. Taehyung decided to take her to an indoor playroom where she could run around with other kids and take her mind off of being without one of her dads for the day, thankfully it seemed to be working. Of course Taehyung had forced his two best friends to come along with him just so he wouldn't be bored as he watched the little girl have fun.

"That ball pit looks so fun, I just want to dive right in." Jimin almost squeals.

"Min, I'm not letting you do that, not again." Hoseok sighs.

Taehyung laughs at the couple, "It does look fun, Chim. Maybe you should dive in."

"Don't you dare encourage him you little demon."

A high pitched voice cuts straight through their conversation, all of them pausing in concern as they hear it getting closer and closer to them.

"Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!" Asami yells as she bounds up to the men.

"What's wrong? Did someone hurt you? I bet it was those older boys, I knew I had a bad feeling about them." Taehyung frowns as he starts checking the little girl over for any signs of injury.

"Daddy, I'm fine." Asami giggles, Taehyung's hands tickling her slightly as they brushed her body.

"Oh thank God."

"M'thirsty though."

Taehyung nods his head in realisation, he really had to stop being such a paranoid parent all the time. "I have your juice here, or do you want some water?"

"Juice!" Asami says happily.

Taehyung laughs as he pulls a juice carton from his bag and pierces the straw through it, passing it over to Asami once it was all set. The little girl thanks him with a cheek kiss before running back over to the other kids, Taehyung calling after her to remind her not to spill it.

"Since when does she call you daddy? It's so cute my heart is about to melt straight out of my ass." Jimin coos.

"Min, please don't say 'ass' when there are kids around," Hoseok warns, even though he agrees that what he just witnessed was possibly the cutest thing ever.

"She started calling me it after I signed the adoption papers. I was a little shocked at first, every time I heard it I didn't respond because I thought she was just calling Kookie." Taehyung laughs. "I'm used to it now though, it feels good to officially be her dad."

"I can't believe you have a child, It's so good to see you getting everything you ever wanted. You really do deserve it, Tae." Hoseok smiles sweetly at the younger.

Taehyung smiles back at him, "Well I have both of you to thank really, I would've never even made a move if it weren't for all the encouragement!"

"I want someone to call me daddy." Jimin sighs sadly, in his own little world thinking of him and Hoseok adopting a child of their own.

"I'm sure Hobi wouldn't mind trying it one night." Taehyung winks.

"Way to kill an innocently sweet moment." Hoseok rolls his eyes dramatically as he sips his drink.

"As if there's anything innocently sweet about you, don't try to fool me."

Hoseok stays quiet after that, he can't argue with the truth after all.

They head back home later that afternoon, just before Jungkook was supposed to be arriving home. Taehyung had decided to get takeout from the noodle shop they loved so much to surprise him with seen as he was bound to be drained from working all day, a little treat would definitely do him well.

Jungkook was definitely happy to finally be home and back to his two favourite people in the world. He couldn't be happier when both Asami and Taehyung ran up to hug him before he even managed to get his jacket off, the feeling of love instantly surrounding him.

"We missed you," Taehyung whispers as he tightens the hug, Asami tightening her arms around his leg too.

"I missed you both more." Jungkook laughs.

"I got us all noodles, I thought you'd need it after a long day."

Jungkook cheers joyfully, he had been starving all day seen as he was too busy to even eat lunch so the thought of noddles was more than appealing to him. "And this is why I'm marrying you."

"Only because I buy you food?" Taehyung pouts which Jungkook is quick to kiss away.

"No, because you're the most thoughtful, loving, amazing person of this planet."

Taehyung laughs at the cheesiness of the younger's words, not that they still didn't make his heart flip in his chest.

"Can we eat now?" Asami glances up at the two which they laugh at.

"We can, pancake. Let's go." Jungkook smiles as they all make their way to the kitchen, everyone eager for the delicious food that was resting there.

The rest of the night was calm, all of them snuggled up to watch movies after eating, which was their usual Saturday night routine. Taehyung then puts Asami to bed by himself, thinking that Jungkook just needed to sit and relax on the sofa rather than convincing a hyped up six-year-old to go to sleep. It was usually a two-person task, especially on a Saturday night where the little girl had so much more resistance to sleep but thankfully Taehyung managed to get her to fall asleep by the middle of the third book he was reading. He placed a soft kiss on Asami's forehead before tiptoeing out of the room and down the stairs, instantly snuggling right back up to Jungkook once he was back in the living room.

"You were gone for ages, I should've just helped you." Jungkook sighs.

"It's fine, she just wouldn't stop talking. It only took two and a half books to get her to sleep though, I think that's a new weekend record."

"You're definitely a better dad than me, I want a refund."

"A refund on me adopting your daughter?" Taehyung laughs, attempting not to make the sound too loud in fear of waking Asami back up.

"OUR daughter."

"Fine, our daughter." Taehyung smiles as he snuggles in closer, he always loved how those words sounded coming out of his mouth.

In the middle of the night, Taehyung was awoken by small knocks coming from the door. He glances up at Jungkook to find him still asleep which wasn't surprising to him in the slightest, the man could sleep through an earthquake after all. The knocks stop after a while which Taehyung probably should've been more concerned about but in his half-awake state, he couldn't find himself questioning anything.

Asami decides to just let herself in without gaining a response and pads her way over to the bed. She reaches out and taps Taehyung's arm a couple of times which has the man rolling off of Jungkook to look at the source of the touch, "What's wrong, princess?" He sleepily asks, one eye open as he tries to search her face in the darkness of the room.

"I-I had a n-nightmare." Asami sniffles.

Taehyung coos as he pulls back the covers and invites the little girl into the bed, pulling her close for a hug once she lays down. "What was the nightmare about?"

"Y-you left us... d-daddy was so s-sad, I-I was s-so sad..." Asami sobs as she snuggles herself more into Taehyung's warmth as if she was truly scared he was going to run away.

"That would never happen, you know that right? I wouldn't leave you even if angry villagers tried to chase me away with torches and pitchforks."

"P-promise?" Asami glances up as she holds out her small pinky.

Taehyung is quick to intertwine his pinky with hers and pulls her hand gently up to his face to place a gentle kiss on the back of it. "Promise. Try to sleep, I won't go anywhere."

Asami nods before relaxing and closing her eyes, trusting every word that Taehyung had said to her. "I love you, daddy."

"I love you more, princess. Good night." Taehyung smiles as he kisses her head and closes his own eyes.

Jungkook wasn't as asleep as Taehyung initially thought he was, he simply laid there and listened to the whole interaction as he tried to contain his smile. Everything seemed so domestic in his life lately and he wouldn't change a single thing for the world.
