"But I don't want to sleep over at Jinie and Joonie's, I want to stay here with you." Asami whined sadly, clinging onto Jungkook's leg as he was trying to get ready to leave the house. 

Jungkook sighs, he always feels bad about leaving his daughter when she's being clingy, but he can't cancel his date with Taehyung. Well, he can, but he doesn't want to. "I'm not staying here, little squish. I'm going out with a friend and you can't come with me, don't you want to play with Hana? And Jin said he bought all the ingredients for cookies, both you girls can help him bake them."

"But I love daddy more than I love cookies." The little girl pouts causing Jungkook's heart to break a little bit more.

"What if I promise you an extra scoop of ice cream tomorrow?" Jungkook tries to bargain.

"With extra sprinkles?" Asami looks up with glistening eyes.

"With extra sprinkles." Jungkook repeats, confirming the deal.

"And chocolate sauce?"

"Pancake, don't push it."

Asami goes back to pouting, crossing her arms this time for added effect.

"Fine, and chocolate sauce."

"Yay!" Asami cheers, skipping off to her bedroom to grab a toy to take to her sleepover.

Jungkook sighs in relief, he might have been a massive pushover but he always is when it comes to his daughter, willing to do anything and everything in order to ensure her happiness. The little girl comes back into the living room with 5 plushies in her arms to which Jungkook rolls his eyes at.

"You know you can only take one toy, you'll forget to bring them back if you take any more than that."

"But I can't decide what to take!" Asami whines in protest but Jungkook's determined not to give into any more of the girls' demands.

"Choose one quickly then, we have to leave."

Jungkook walks over to the door, glancing quickly over his shoulder to see his daughter in what seems to be a mental dilemma. She finally decides on taking her panda plushie, giving the others a quick sorry and a few kisses before leaving them behind on the sofa and running over to her dad at the door.

"I have all of her stuff in this bag if there are any issues then don't even hesitate to call me, I don't care if you don't want to ruin my date Asami is more important."

"This isn't the first time I've had her overnight, everything will be fine. Stop being so angsty and go get your man." Jin encourages.

Jungkook nods in agreement, turning to leave the house before he remembers to say something. "Please don't mention to Asami who I'm out with, I don't want her to get her hopes up in case the date is a flop."

"My lips are sealed, now leave." Jin practically pushes him out of the door, earning a glare from the younger.

Jungkook takes a deep breath to compose himself before he drives off to Taehyung's house, he really wants this date to go well but he doesn't want to have all his hope riding on it. This will be the first date he's gone on in over two years, he stopped attempting to find connections with people and just settled for random hookups instead to release some tension. But he feels as if he's really found something decent in Taehyung, the man is potentially someone who can complete his family and he's desperate not to ruin that.

He finally stops the car in front of Taehyung's house 5 minutes later, he's a little bit late so he hopes the elder won't be mad. He takes another deep breath before exiting the car and walking up the path to his door, hesitantly knocking once he gets there. The door swings open about a minute later revealing a cheery Taehyung looking the most beautiful Jungkook had ever seen him, he almost melts on the spot at the site.

"I'm sorry I'm a little late, I had to drop Asami off at my friends and she was taking so long to decide what stuffed toy to take with her to her sleepover." Jungkook rambles, hoping the elder doesn't hold his lateness against him.

"You're not that late so don't worry about it." Taehyung offers a gentle smile to which Jungkook gratefully returns. "Should we get going then?"

"Oh, yes, of course."

Jungkook leads the elder to his car, opening the door for him once they reach it.

"Such a gentleman." Taehyung laughs before he slips inside.

Jungkook laughs to himself as he walks around to his own side, "I thought we could go for dinner at this great noodle place I found, they have so many noodles on the menu that I've made it my life mission to try them all."

Taehyung chuckles at the younger's cuteness, nodding happily in agreement.

The dinner went great, the conversation flowed perfectly as if the two had known each other for years. They both decided to order different dishes and share them, getting Jungkook one step closer to achieving his noodle eating goal. They laughed and smiled until both of their cheeks were aching, but that didn't stop them from doing it more it only encouraged more laughter once they realised just how much their cheeks were aching.

After dinner they decided to spend some time to look at the stars from a bench in the park, the night was a little cold seen as it was early November but neither of the men really minded, both subtly leaning into each other's side to chase some body heat.

"My mom used to tell me stories about the stars when I was little so I've always loved looking at them. I tell the same ones to Asami now, I think she loves them just as much as I do." Jungkook said as he looked up at the sky thoughtfully.

"I'm sure she does."

"I haven't been on a date for over two years, so thanks for making this one so good. I forgot how enjoyable it was to just go out and have fun once in a while."

Taehyung frowns at that, wondering why it's been so long since Jungkook has dated. "How comes you haven't dated in so long?" He asks, curiosity getting the better of him.

"I was tired of it never leading to anything more, I'd have such a great time with people and then as soon as I bring up the fact I have a kid they practically bolted. It's hard to meet someone who doesn't mind the fact you have other responsibilities." Jungkook sighed.

"What about Asami's mom? Were you not in a relationship with her?" Taehyung regrets the question as soon as he says it, he prays the younger doesn't think he's too nosey.

Jungkook chuckles dryly, "Her moms a bitch to put it nicely. We were together for a very small amount of time, I slept with her once before decided I definitely was not into girls but that one time was enough to bring us Asami. She went missing for months after we broke up, I tried calling and texting her before and I started to assume the worst, I just hoped she didn't do anything stupid because of the breakup, she was pretty upset when I ended things. But, turns out she was pregnant. She called me one day to let me know she'd given birth and the baby was being put up for adoption, she was seriously gonna do that without even consulting me. My mom and dad are to thank for my daughter being with me, I didn't believe I could do it but they gave me faith, I'm not the best dad but I try."

"God, if I ever meet that woman then I'm personally slapping her." Taehyung jokes, making Jungkook laugh. "Seriously though, you're an amazing dad. I can see how much Asami adores you."

"I think she likes you more than me." Jungkook nudges him lightly, smile creeping its way onto his face.

"Nonsense. I'm just a fun teacher, I could never compete with you."

They sit in the cold for a little longer, chatting once in a while but mostly just gazing at the stars in comfortable silence before deciding it's probably time to head home, neither of them wanting to leave but in the avoidance of hypothermia they had to. Jungkook walks Taehyung to his door once they arrive, both of them sad that the date was finally over.

"I had a really great time tonight, we should do it again sometime." Taehyung says with a smile as he turns round to face Jungkook, and God were their faces close together once he does so.

"Yeah, we should."

Jungkook swallows thickly before making eye contact with Taehyung, his eyes quickly dart down to his lips when the elder licks them causing them to glisten with saliva. He looks back up to meet Taehyung's eyes, the look in them almost begging for him to kiss him. So Jungkook did, he leans forward and captures Taehyung's lips with his own, both of them moulding together into a sweet, soft kiss.

There was no rush behind the kiss, no desire to do anything more. It was pure and full of love, something Jungkook thought was too early to be feeling. They finally pulled away from each other, Taehyung giggling slightly when the younger offers him a shy smile.

"Goodnight, Jungkook."

"Goodnight, Taehyung."

Taehyung gives Jungkook a small peck before disappearing into his house with a small wave, leaving the younger wanting to follow in after him and kiss him more. He's only had one taste of Taehyung yet he's already dying for more, this was a completely new feeling for him and he was incredibly excited to feel more of it.
