Excitement

Taehyung and Jungkook both knew that life with two children and one dog would not be at all easy, but that doesn't mean they were ready for just how difficult it truly was. They had to change their entire schedule which they had grown so comfortable with over the past two years, and changing it was definitely not an over night thing. They were exhausted, so exhausted that they barely remembered who each other were half the time.

Thankfully over time they grew used to everything, finally adjusting to having a new baby. However, Taehyung was still mildly terrified about doing things by himself. He tries his best not to be since he knows Jungkook won't be on paternity leave forever, but every time he thinks about being left alone without his husband to call when he feels he is doing something wrong makes him feel nauseous.

But all Taehyung's bad thoughts were pushed away when he gets a phone call one morning from his best friends telling him that their baby had also been born, they also had a little boy who they named Jongho. He had been so excited he almost screamed the whole house down, having to cover his mouth in fear of completely terrifying both his children. He wasn't even off the phone for two seconds before he was frantically telling Jungkook to get himself ready, desperately wanting to go to the Park household and meet the new arrival.

"What's wrong?" Jungkook asks, panicked by his husband's sudden frantic behaviour so early in the morning, they hadn't even had breakfast yet.

"Chim and Hobi's baby, we have to go and meet him!"

Jungkook sighs in relief, he should've known it would be something like this. Ever since Minjun had been born Taehyung's been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Jimin and Hoseok's child so they could share the experience, it was a given that he would be over excited when the moment finally came.

"Can't we have breakfast first? I'm not leaving the house without the kids being fed. Plus we need to feed Yeontan, we can't leave him alone with no food."

"Ok, fine. What child do you want to feed? I'll take the other one." Taehyung stops to ask, eagerly eyeing Jungkook in wait of an answer.

"You're making it sound like a mission," Jungkook laughs, stopping when the elder begins tapping his foot impatiently. "I'll feed Minjun, you can go get Asami. But just make her cereal or something, I don't want the kitchen burnt down."

"I'm getting better at cooking I'll have you know, your mom thinks I'm great at it."

"Fine, make her some toast then."

Taehyung rolls his eyes before leaving the room, but not before telling Jungkook again to hurry up and get himself moving. In fear of being yelled at the younger does just that, heading downstairs straight away to heat up a bottle for Minjun's morning feed. In reality, he didn't want to leave the house but he'll bite his tongue and stay quiet since he knows Taehyung was really happy, he would never want to ruin his happiness.

Luckily the baby was already waking up when Jungkook entered the nursery, he would've hated to wake him up and have to deal with the crying before he could actually feed him. "Morning, little one," he smiles as he picks him up, loving the way Minjun blinks up at him with his big eyes. He decides to change and dress Minjun before he feeds him, thinking it'll kill time in the long run and get him in less trouble with Taehyung for being slow.

Something about the act of feeding a baby was completely peaceful for Jungkook, the feeling brings him back to when he used to almost fall asleep feeding Asami and his mom would always have to tap him to keep him awake. The memory makes him smile, he truly was grateful he was able to experience it all again and now with someone he loves with all his heart instead of being alone. As he's thinking of Taehyung the man himself shows up in the doorway, looking more calm with a small smile on his face and he looks at the scene in front of him.

"All good?"

Jungkook hums, returning the smile before looking back at the baby in his arms. "Where's Asami?"

"Eating. I came up to pick her an outfit but I thought I'd see if you're okay first. I'm sorry about being pushy, I'm just excited... but I'm calmer now so take your time." Taehyung apologises.

"It's fine, baby, you're allowed to be excited. They're your best friends, after all, I was the same when Jin and Joon told me they were adopting," Jungkook laughs. "I've already dressed him though, I just need to finish feeding him and then burp him, then we can go."

"Did you dress him in his 'first time meeting my future best friend' outfit?"

"Of course, I value my life," Jungkook jokes.

Taehyung sighs, "you make me sound as if I'm a crazy parent."

"You aren't?"

"That's it, I'm divorcing you."

"Somehow I really don't believe you." Jungkook laughs, finding the way Taehyung huffs in the doorway absolutely adorable. "Weren't you supposed to be choosing clothes for Asami?"

"Clothes, yes, right." Taehyung quickly turns around and scurries towards Asami's room, leaving Jungkook laughing to himself alone in the nursery.

Taehyung's excitement only comes back to him as time moves on, he couldn't wait to meet Jimin and Hoseok's child. The fact the things they used to dream about when they were younger were finally a reality was almost a surreal feeling, he couldn't believe that life had turned out to be so amazing for them all. Jungkook has to stop him from bouncing like an excited child when they finally get into the car, the younger feeling as if he had three children instead of just two. He manages to contain himself until they pull up outside the house, almost falling from the car as he opens the door, way too eager to get up to the front door.

"Tae, can you chill? I feel like I've taken you to Disneyworld." Jungkook shakes his head as he opens the car door to get Asami out, the little girls' eyes lighting up from the words.

"Disneyworld?!"

"Disneyworld? Who said that?" Jungkook plays dumb, trying to shrug the whole thing off.

"You did, daddy. Minjun heard it too, didn't you?" Asami looks to the side at the baby carrier only to be stared back at with blank eyes. "See! He heard!"

"Wow both of my children are ganging up on me, what did I do to deserve this?" Jungkook dramatically cries as he lifts Asami out of the car, the little girl giggling at him when she's placed on the ground.

"Daddy, did you hear it too?" Asami asks as she skips over to Taehyung, hoping for more backup.

Thankfully Taehyung was on Jungkook's side, not wanting to be responsible for them having to plan an overly expensive holiday in the near future. "All I heard was the wind, princess."

"But there's no wind..."

"There's not? Wow, maybe I heard a ghost then," Taehyung gasps as he knocks on the door, hoping the statement was enough to get Asami off of the topic.

It doesn't take Jimin long to answer, smiling as he's met with his very excited best friend before hugging him quickly. "I thought I heard you out here, but the excitement made me question if I was hearing things."

"Nope, it's me in the flesh, ready to squish your new little baby's cheeks!"

"Chimmy!" Asami happily yells, not wanting to be left out of the hug.

Jimin laughs as he crouches down to hug the little girl, not one to say no to more hugs. "Come in my friends!" He says as soon as he stands back up, moving to the side the let them all in.

Taehyung has to hold back a loud squeal when he sees Hoseok sitting on the sofa with a small baby resting in his arms. "I can't believe he's actually real," he says as he approaches them to see the baby better.

"You thought we were joking about adopting?" Hoseok laughs.

"No, but- you know what I mean, shut up." Taehyung rolls his eyes, fighting the urge to shove Hoseok since he wouldn't want to hurt Jongho. "Oh, I have a present! Kookie, where is it?"

Jungkook quickly hands him the small gift bag they brought, obedient as always. Taehyung smiles widely as he turns around and passes the bag over to Jimin, bouncing on his heels happily as he waits for him to see what was inside.

"I know you said no matching things, but these were so adorable I seriously couldn't restrain myself from ordering them." Taehyung justifies the gift before Jimin has a chance to see it.

Jimin chuckles as he finally pulls the gift from the bag, smiling when he sees a white baby grow with the words 'Baby Park' written across it. "So I'm guessing Minjun is wearing a 'Baby Jeon' one?" He asks to which Taehyung nods happily, motioning for Jungkook to take him out of the baby carrier for them to see.

"I saw them on one of my 'late night online shopping for my children's clothes when I should be sleeping' binges, who doesn't love a good personalised item?"

"I had to stop him ordering a shirt for Asami as well, I don't want to turn into one of those families."

"I also saw shirts for us that I considered getting, I just didn't show you them."

Jimin and Hoseok laugh as Jungkook eyes Taehyung, hoping that in the future he doesn't actually decide to get them all for a tacky family picture. As much as he completely adores his family he doesn't want that, although Taehyung knows he could talk him into it if he throws in some convincing puppy eyes and a cute pout.

They all fall into a comfortable conversation after that, laughing and joking amongst each other, sharing the pain of being so sleep deprived. Asami makes her own entertainment by running from Minjun to Jongho and then back, poking the babies cheeks and giggling at how squishy they were. Everything was just as Taehyung dreamed it to be, completely perfect just like something out of a movie. He can't help but think back to drunken nights back in college with Jimin when they cried together over the possibility of never having just this, how he never thought he'd fall in love and have children of his own after the harsh words his parents had yelled at him whilst throwing him out onto the streets, and he had never been so happy to be wrong in his entire life.
