I have some things I want to say.

1) Aya and Gia (and Celeste and Sophie before them) suffered from J Plec and Carina's absolute inability to fully realize amazing character concepts. I will give them credit for being great at character creation. But they are 100% SHIT at actually telling a full and intelligible story with those characters. 

2) They're victims of J Plec and Carina's very obvs racism! Literally they cannot write women of colour without making sure they will be hated by fandom and they have zero self awareness about what they put them through. 

3) Giljah should have been end game and it's the hill I will die on. She's literally the only love interest who loved Elijah for being Elijah. Not a Mikaelson, not the noble brother, not whoever he'd been in the past. She just loved him and wanted him. And she could have shown him that being a vampire didn't immediately make one a monster and he needed that. Also she was a fucking musician. I just...

Anyway RIP Gia and all your potential. JP and Carina never did deserve you.

I think one of the reasons I love Gilijah so much is just how well they fit together.

Also their height difference.

And their love for music.

He teaches her to survive as a vampire. 

She teaches him how to live.

Gia was never impressed by Elijah's whole "Originals" thing. 

Like everyone else in the show either grovelled at his feet in fear or was aware of his history.

To Gia, he was just a guy who was her trainer, made her steal a python and had too many suits in his closets.

She doesn't put any extra labels on his and I think that was refreshing for Elijah.

Someone with zero expectations about him.
