Epilogue
Disclaimer: The video and the song are both not mine, I just thought that the song would be appropriate with the vibe for this final part of the story, especially the start and the end of the chapter. Enjoy :)
Epilogue
One year later...
I adjusted my dress, making sure that I wasn't showing too much cleavage as my grip tightened on the bouquet in my hand. Oh my God, I can't believe this is happening! I thought to my wolf excitedly.
The dress I had on was a pale pink, almost white and completely made of satin. The top of the sweetheart neckline was trimmed with white, delicate lace, the dress hugging my body down to barely above my knees before flaring out in layers of baby pink and light peach tulle in a mermaid silhouette. My mother's necklace hung from my neck, partly nestled under my hair, that I had chosen to leave down with the other half of it up in an intricate bun.
My heartbeat became erratic as the music began to play, the light sound of the piano keys sounding almost ethereal as it echoed through the church. The doors opened up to reveal the guests, eagerly awaiting the proceedings of the ceremony.
The whole room was decorated in hues of cream, pink and white, the flowers that lined the back of the pews having been arranged to perfection to display a balance of all the colours. The altar stood below a white iron arch intricately covered in a harmonious medley of woven pale peach, pink and white flowers that filled the room with their subtle yet fragrant scent.
I studied the faces in the crowd as I began my journey down the carpeted aisle dusted with delicate petals, the smile on my face more than conveying my excitement. Everyone watched my approach with awestruck faces, some with eyes that shone with tears.
My smile couldn't help but get wider as my gaze met grey eyes. Logan stood at the end of the aisle, his usually unruly hair in its usual state over his eyes. His tall frame looked impeccable in his black suit, his broad shoulders looking even broader in the perfectly tailored garment, much to my approval, my wolf growling in satisfaction. I told her to hush up.
Logan noticed of course, flashing me a devilish smirk as his smouldering gaze ran the length of my body, from my head to toe and back, his eyes flashing to black for a moment before returning to their usual grey, expressing his similar train of thought.
That look of his had me tempted to run the rest of the way as my heart began to race, but I smothered the urge as Ethan flashed us both a warning glare from my mate's side. I smiled sheepishly at him. Sorry. I muttered through the pack bond. As I got to the end of the aisle, I stepped to the side, Sam walking up to stand beside me.
Jen looked beautiful in her white dress, the light material of the skirt flying effortlessly around her legs as she approached her awaiting groom. The top of her dress was a bustier, decorated with a thin layer of off white lace and pearls. My birthday gift to her sat against her pale neck, the sunlight that shone in from the stained glass windows behind us making it glitter against her skin. Her hair was up in an artfully messy yet elegant up-do, her long veil spilling from the top to the base of her back.
The bouquet in her hands was a carefully arranged mix of white and light pink roses, each flower a specifically chosen shade as to not clash with any part of the ceremony. My eyes began to well up with tears as the ceremony began, the drops making their way down my cheeks as Jen and Darryl recited their vows, my heart aching with happiness.
I clapped with the rest of the crowd as they kissed, overjoyed that my best friend had not only found her mate but would now be bound to him in every way possible.

After the ceremony, we all moved to the reception, held in a meadow in the Blood Moon territory, as per instructions from the bride herself. The reception, like the wedding, was decorated completely in pastel pinks and creams, Jen having assigned me to planning her wedding as agreed more than a year ago.
I smiled to myself as I thought of that day, that now felt like such a long time ago. Ethan stood up, clinking his glass to gain everyone's attention. He was the first to begin his speech, followed by Logan, and a few others, leaving me for last.
When it was finally my turn, I was a bundle of nerves. I stood up shakily, gripping my glass tightly so that I wouldn't drop it. I cleared my throat. "Jen, the first time we met, you slapped me in the face and basically dragged me around, on my birthday. I had no idea who you were and truthfully, I'd wanted to punch your lights out." The crowd smiled at that.
"But that was a year ago. In this one year, we've grown so close, you're more of my sister than a friend. You're so caring, so forgiving, sometimes idiotic and just uniquely amazing. You've done so much for me that I probably can't ever thank you enough. Congratulations on finding your mate and with him even more happiness. You truly deserve it." I met her watery gaze for a moment before moving onto her groom.
"As for you Darryl, you better take care of her. I beat you up once, I won't hesitate to do it again." I threatened, giving him a teasing look. He held his hands up in surrender.
"Yes ma'am." Was his response. I nodded in approval.
I held my glass up. "To Jen and Darryl, may your love and happiness be everlasting and may all your flat surfaces be strong enough for the weight of two people, especially in the kitchen." I gave Jen a wink at that line, her new husband just watching the exchange with wide-eyed amusement.
She ran up to me, throwing her arms around my neck in a firm hug. "I made sure that they are." She whispered in my ear, before releasing me, a satisfied smile on her face. I just grinned in return, watching her as she walked off with Darryl to take the first dance.
I slowly swayed to the music as I watched the two of them, my mate coming up behind me. "You did a great job with the wedding. I had no idea you'd be so great at it." He mumbled, his voice laced with exegerated surprise as he wrapped his arms around my waist.
My smile widened as I playfully slapped him on the arm. I leaned my head back against his chest, my hands over his. "What can I say? I'm a woman of many talents."
"So, what were you thinking about back at the church?" Came his question a moment later.
My cheeks burned brightly at that little comment as my eyes darkened. I turned in his arms, meeting his gaze from under my lashes. "You know exactly what."
His beautiful grey eyes turned obsidian. "They were definitely not churchly thoughts." His sensual lips now sat in an infuriatingly sexy smirk.
"Definitely." I nodded, leaning up as his lips crushed mine. My fingers tangled in the back of his hair as his arms wrapped around my waist, crushing my body to his.
I bit back a moan as he bit my bottom lip, barely remembering where we were as I tried to pull him closer. His hand began to descend to more dangerous territory, grazing the curve of my butt before the sound of someone clearing their throat broke through my Logan-haze.
I looked up to see Ethan by our side. My mate kept me close, tucking my head beneath his chin, looking mildly amused as he undoubtedly sensed my irritation. Always Ethan. My wolf grumbled. Well we are at a wedding, horny. My wolf scoffed at my response. "Ethan, eventually I'm going to have to teach you not to mess with my business." I threatened jokingly, flashing him my claws and dark eyes.
He just laughed in response. "I'd like to see you try Chels."
"You probably shouldn't have said that." Logan muttered, making a show of releasing me before taking large steps back, as if I might lunge that instant.
"You wouldn't." Ethan mumbled, seeming less sure now.
His eyes widened as I began to advance on him, the menacing grin on my lips growing upon seeing my accomplice behind him. "Oh yes she would!" Jen's 'battle cry' pulled the attention of all of the guest as a giant piece of wedding cake became Ethan's new headpiece.
I laughed along with Jen as her brother recovered from the frosting covered blow. I choked on my laughter as Ethan grabbed a part of cake from his head, the intent in his eyes clear. I ran back into Logan's arms, twisting him around to use as a shield, peeping around him to find my opponent.
He just chuckled as I began to sniff the air, trying to find Ethan when I found he was nowhere to be seen. I detected him behind me a moment too late. Before I could react, a cream covered arm hugged me from behind, a hand thoroughly applying cake to my hair. My eyes flashed to Logan's in an accusatory look. My face bore a look of overly dramatic shock as I said, "You saw him behind me!"
His face was one of nonchalance as he shrugged at me, his lips upturned in a teasing smile. You're gonna pay for that, mate. I told him privately, his eyes flashing black at my challenging tone, clearly interested in what I had in mind for punishment. Logan darted out of my reach as Ethan released me to find another victim, preferably his sister.
By then most of the younger guests has decided to engage in our cake fight, the elders choosing to sit back and enjoy the food normally as they watched us in amusement. In a matter of seconds I had lost track of my mate. Sam ran over to my side despite the restricting design of our bridesmaid dresses, toting two handfuls of cake. Half her face was covered in cake, frosting grazing her cleavage and the top of her dress.
"Hey Chels, need some ammo?" She lilted before turning and throwing one of her handfuls' of cake an impressive few hundred metres across the field without much strain, the clump of cake hitting Ethan perfectly in the back of his head so hard it rocked a little to the front. She bounced once. "Yes!" Ethan turned and threw his hands up with a questioning look on his face. She gestured to her dress. "Next time think before ruining two hours of my work boo!"
Sam slapped the other piece of cake in my hand before shooting off, yelping as Ethan came after her. I only then noticed she had taken her shoes off, choosing to toss my own as I chased after them. I laughed as she managed to evade him by running by Jen, effectively shifting his focus to his sister.
I jogged under some of the trees that lined the field, content with watching the chase. Sam returned to stand beside me. I sensed a familiar scent in the air. We shared a look before simultaneously looking up, seeing Darryl perched on a thick branch above us. He held a finger to his lips, a grin on his face as he raised the cake in his hand before pointing at Ethan in the distance. Despite our dresses, we joined him up there.
I tried my best to stifle my giggles as I realised. "This is a trap isn't it?"
They both turned to me. Sam chuckled as she nodded at her accomplice. "Yup."
The chase for Jen eventually led Ethan perfectly under us, another piece of cake landing on his head. I was consumed with laughter as he looked up with a look of shock. "Darryl I thought we were sticking together!"
He gestured to his wedding band. "Sorry man, this means I'm always gonna be sticking with her." Jen blew him a kiss from the base of the tree. His apologetic look didn't last long, melting in throes of laughter as Ethan dramatically clutched his heart.
"You wound me D." His expression turned impish though as he looked to me. He scanned the field, spotting something out of my line of sight. "Logan! I found her!"
My laughter was interrupted as I gasped. "You traitor!"
He was off again as Sam and Darryl hopped to the ground, going after him alongside Jen. "All's fair in love and cake wars."He called behind him. She just shook her head as Sam tackled him hard. The girl might look like a princess but she was definitely more suited to the knight position. The newlyweds went off on their own, strolling for a bit before collapsing in the centre of the field, already back in their happiness bubble. My heart swelled at the sight of the way they looked at each other.
I looked down to see grey eyes intently watching me. "Why hello, stranger." I mused, grinning down at him. The smile on his lips widened at that. It wasn't surprising that he had managed to escape the food fight looking impeccable. He had removed his jacket and tie at some point, standing below me in just his white shirt, pants and shoes.
He went along with my act. "What are you doing up there miss?"
I did my best to convey damsel in distress. "I'm waiting for my prince to come save me. I'm stuck you see?" My free hand indicated the branch.
He pretended to be displeased. "Well, that just won't do, will it?" His claws dug into the trunk as he climbed up to me. At the last moment before he reached me, I pulled my other hand out from behind the trunk into his view, revealing my ammo courtesy of Sam. He was already directly below me so all I had to do was let it go.
My mate looked up at me from under the piece of cake that now adorned his thick hair and was slowly falling to coat his face. "You better start running." He warned in a low voice, his beautiful grey giving way to deep obsidian.
A sound of excitement-laced, surprise escaped my lips as I moved to the edge of the branch, launching myself to land a few feet away from the tree. The moment my feet touched the ground I was off, hearing Logan close behind me. The dress didn't help as I did my best not to damage it, conscious of how little running room it gave me.
It wasn't long before I felt myself being tackled from behind, arms encircling my waist. Of course Logan spun us mid air to ensure he landed below me. A small smile graced my lips. Always looking out for me. I stroked his cheek as his body relaxed beneath me.
He turned his head to press a kiss to my palm. Forever. Although it was only one word, his tone told me it was a vow.

The rest of the reception had passed in a blur after that. Now clean and cake free, I sat in the living room listening to Jake ramble on about nothing in particular over the phone. "We missed you at the wedding."
"Yeah, sorry about that, Alpha business is a bitch sometimes."
"Tell me about it." I grumbled, thinking back to the countless times I had to part with Logan due to all his responsibilities.
"Ew Chels, reel it in damn." He teased. "I can sense the desperation from way over here."
"Can't help it big bro, I'm always hankering for that piece of ass." I hummed in satisfaction to truly up the cringe factor. I laughed as I heard him gag. "Don't deep throat so far and that won't happen."
"Ha. Ha. You're hilarious." His words oozed sarcasm. "Everyone come listen! Comedic genius on line one!" I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile, I missed my brother. I made a mental note to visit him soon.
"Hey stop advertising or else I'm gonna have to start charging." I heard the front door open. The delicious scent I had grown indecently addicted to filtered into the room, telling me exactly who would walk through the door. "Okay Jake I gotta go, my ride just came home."
I heard a choking noise on the other end of the line. "My ears are bleeding now, thanks." I heard rummaging. "Shit, where did I put that bottle of holy water? These ears need a good washing."
I laughed. "You're so dramatic."
"Yeah, yeah." He mumbled.
"Miss you! I'll see you soon."
"Good, Dylan and Jackie have been up my ass about seeing you for a while now. Said they didn't see much of you at the wedding."
I help up my hand as if he could see me. "Alright I'll make it very soon then. Yeah, they were only there for the wedding itself and I was running around like crazy then. The role of Maid of Honour doesn't play itself." I said proudly. Logan came in then, settling beside me. "Love you Jake!" I made loud, exaggerated kissing noises into the phone much to his irritation, a loud groan his response.
"Okay, okay, okay. Enough. I love you too you sick pervert." His tone became serious. "Hi Logan." My mate acknowledge him in an even tone, exchanging brief pleasantries before I hung up.
I put my phone down on the coffee table, Logan pulling me back immediately after to tuck me into his side. His hand on my waist drew lazy circles on my hip. His presence immediately put me at ease as it always did. My head rested on his chest, my mate pressing a kiss to my hair. "Ready for bed?" He asked after a while. I sensed his fatigue through our bond and finally realised how worn I truly was from today's festivities. He kept my hand locked in his as we climbed the stairs.
As soon as we got to the bedroom, I tossed the shirt and sweatpants I'd been wearing into the laundry hamper. As always, I took one of Logan's shirts' to sleep in. He climbed into bed next to me, pulling me close.
I turned to face him, watching my gorgeous mate as he studied my expression. I sighed, completely content. "What are you thinking about love?"
I grasped his face as his arms tightened around me. "I love you."
He pressed a tender kiss to my lips, his eyes blazing with adoration. "Chelsea, none have loved another the way I love you."
I smiled up at him. "I'm certain I can think of one."
He leaned in, touching his forehead to mine. "How did a bastard like me get so lucky?" He whispered in a sincerely dumbfounded tone.
I growled defensively, baring my fangs. "Because you deserve happiness and are worthy of it." Although it had been a year, I still caught him with that guilty look in his eyes from time to time when he looked at me, not yet willing to forgive himself for our rocky beginning and what his father had cost us. "Don't do that Logan." My tone was soft, coaxing him to believe. "I've forgiven you. Someday you will too."
"You're too good to me." I shook my head adamantly.
"I would do it all again you know?" He raised a brow. "Without all of that shit we had to go through last year, we would not be here as strong as we are today. For this moment with you I would do it all again." A small smile played at my lips as I realised that this wasn't just some meaningless sentiment I was throwing out there. I truly meant it, as my heart swelled with love for my mate.
When he finally grinned back at me, he looked sheepish. "I would maybe do a few things differently." I laughed at that. "I must have done something right though, to deserve having you look at me the way you do."
I kissed my mark on his neck, sending a shiver vibrating through his body. "I was thinking the exact same thing."
Hello everyone. I cannot express how much I have appreciated your support throughout the years (it feels surreal) that this book has been in progress. To all the people who have taken the time, be it to comment, vote, or just read, I can't thank you enough. Your feedback and continuous support is what has pushed me to keep writing and for that I am so grateful to you all. Of course, the book is not yet finished as I will be editing and altering parts of the story which I feel are not yet properly developed so changes will be made from time to time (plots holes, characters and such). Also, thank you SO MUCH for your patience with me, and I am SO SORRY (I CAN'T EVEN EXPRESS HOW BAD I FEEL) that I made you guys wait so long for the epilogue. I really hope you enjoyed this chapter and the rest of the book. I know I've enjoyed this insane journey I've been on with all of you, from writing the story itself to seeing your feedback (Some of the comments really crack me up and just make my day <3) THANK YOU SO MUCH :3
All my love,
Roxy
