Ok. Personally I see them as twins or siblings. NOT an item. Come one! People have to agree with me!

NiGHTS is the hero of the game even though she (Yes is see NiGHTS as a girl some people see her as a boy) is a Nightmaren also created by Wizeman but the created the rebellion, While Reala was Wizeman's main enforcer who was furious with NiGHTS betrayal and was set to capture NiGHTS for touchering.

This is why I like Reala better than all the other characters. Cause pain and suffering to my enemies is great plus he's just misunderstood like the CreepyPasta's, my sisters, and me.
