Storytime 🤢😷🤢

Hey guys!

So, those emojis in the title are not me being sick actually, but being sick inside.

My parents will never know about this, lol.

So, yesterday I got a text from a random number. So did a couple of my friends. It looked like this:

So I'm not sure if any of you guys got this text from a random number, but I want to know 2 things:

1. How did they know my name?
2. How did they correctly put my name to the phone number?

Anyway, the link takes you to an app that looks like this:

Well, being the curious idiot I am, I downloaded it, as you can see. But I have deleted it.

So if you've ever heard of the app 'Flinch', it is similar to that one.
You are paired up with a random person for 10 seconds, and you are given the choices to either report them, add another minute to talk, or add them on Snapchat.

I was wearing a ptx shirt at the time I tried it, and 2 people noticed it and said they liked ptx 😊 (but that's way aside the point)

I'm not sure if this is the app's fault other people's, or my own, but I 'made friends' with two guys (both 14 years old) and after chatting with them on the app and on Snapchat, one proceeded to ask for nudes, and the other kept bringing up sexual subjects and trying to force me to talk about them.
If you are not ready for that kind of pressure, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP, ESPECIALLY IF YOU GET THAT TEMPTING TEXT AD!
I didn't send the first one any pictures, fearing that he was lying about his age and looks.
Not only that, but I was called really hurtful names on this app (ugly, bitch, slut, fat, and so on), but I decided not to let those comments affect me.
It's probably not the app's fault, because how could they tell if you're lying or not? But those experiences scared me.
This app just may make you THINK you're making friends, but I'm not sure.

I have since then blocked both guys on Snapchat, and deleted the app.
So if you are not okay with those kind of themes, don't. Get. This. App.
And that's all I have to say.

Update:
After typing this, I was looking through the app's reviews and found this, that explains everything with the text ad:

The reason why my friend got one was because I 'added' her, and it sent her a text using the contact name I had for her. (Which was just her name, nothing different)

If anyone has this app and my number and added me, please comment. I'm not mad at all! I'm just curious.

Monkey, 'the app to make friends': don't download unless you are ready for pressure.

Love y'all and stay safe.
