I was just about to call Stephanie to see if she wouldn't mind picking me up for school when I heard my front door open.

Then faster than my mind could register anything I saw Dean coming toward me.

"Fuck my meeting, I'm sorry my love...I'm sorry I haven't been putting you first, I love you more than life itself...you are my world but I guess I haven't exactly been worthy of your love as of late."

He kissed me and that's all I needed. From there the rest was history.

The outfit I had picked out specifically for school today was being ripped from my body as I removed Dean's suit jacket and tie, we both undid his shirt and soon I was being bent over the counter and shown how much Dean truly was sorry.

As he got close to climaxing I noticed he positioned himself so that his mouth was near my ear.

"I love you so much Cassandra."

It was my complete undoing and as I closed my eyes to let my orgasm consume me before I was suddenly encompassed by sheer euphoria as I felt his teeth bite down into the crook of my neck.

As he finished himself he removed his teeth from my flesh and soon the fresh mark was met by his cool tongue sealing it shut.

Dean lifted me up and carried me all the way up to our bedroom. He laid me down and then got into the bed himself.

"Are you alright my love?"

All I could do was nod and smile.

"I've wanted to so do that for so long." He smiled.

"We should get up." I sounded after a while.

He shook his head no, "you should rest, but you're right I do need to get up...I've already missed one meeting and it'd be pretty irresponsible to miss anymore today."

"I have to go to school today, I missed yesterday and skipped third period the day before."

"Why'd you skip third?" He asked as we began to get redressed.

I told him about having a run with Stephanie (but didn't feel like bringing up why since I felt like we were in a good place now) this also brought up my werewolf course.

"Love I think that's a great idea, I didn't know anything when I first shifted...it'd be a lot of help, you see you're already a spectacular Luna."

I blushed, "lucky for me I have an even better Alpha to back me up."

"Well an Alpha who's gonna be running late once again if we don't get a move on, come on love...i'll drop you off at school."

Once we reached the school it was hard to tell him bye as we couldn't stop kissing each other, but I pulled myself away and got out of his car. Class had already started so I went to the office and picked up a tardy slip.

Before going into class I ducked into the ladies to use the toilet, and shortly after entering my stall I heard two girls enter the ladies giggling.

"I mean how pathetic...eighteen, still at home and no mate?" One of them said.

"But Stephanie still walks around here like she's the shit...all because Cassandra's her friend." The other added.

My eyes nearly bugged out of my head, these bitches were talking about Steph and I.

"Some Luna, I mean the Alpha hasn't even marked her yet." One of them sounded.

"Do you blame him...I mean I wouldn't want to mark the person who's basically the reason my best friend is dead!" The other one threw in casually.

My heart stopped...could this be the reason Dean had been so distant.

Every second since Ryan's passing played in my head like a movie in fast forward...I watched on as I recalled how Dean grew more and more distant. Even this morning I remembered how Dean had finally marked me, but it was only after I had threatened to move out.

Everyone knows a pack needs an Alpha and a Luna for the pack to run smoothly...Had Dean only marked me for the good of the pack and not because he genuinely wanted to?

I finished up, cleaned myself and flushed the toilet before holding my head up and exiting the stall.

"Ladies." I sounded as I looked at both of the terrified girls, I pushed my hair back (I had left it down as I wanted to keep my mark to myself for a little while longer) revealing my fresh mark. "It is rather classless to talk about people you hardly know, especially when you yourselves have yet to move out or find a mate."

I knew both of these girl by name and knew for a fact they hadn't found mates because one they haven't even shifted yet. Two, each mated couple is added to a log that the Alpha controls, and Dean and I looked through it the first night we moved in.

"Luna Cassandra-"

"You should both get to class." I stopped her.

They left and my cool demeanor faded away instantly, suddenly I was filled with guilt and shame...I was the reason Dean was being so distant, Dean had even said it himself "once I mark you it can't be undone."

It was his way of trying to remain a gentleman but turn me down in the process...he didn't want to be tied to the girl who got his best friend killed, forever.

I wanted to scream or shift but knew all I could do was go to my class and continue my day like usual.

School seemed never ending but at the end of the day when Dean finally picked me up I noticed that the romantic playful vibe was gone. We both sat in the car silent, neither one of us reach for the others hand.

The same thing took place during dinner.

"How was school?" He asked.

"Alright...how was your day."

"Long...dinner is good."he sounded

"Thank you." I replied almost robotically. "I think I'll have a run after dinner."

He nodded, "I'm probably going to shower and just go to bed."

When we finished our meal we parted ways as he went up to the room and I went outside. I kept my run short, I had to take the time to relish in the fact that I had shift on command twice once to get into my wolf form and the other to get out of my wolf form.

When I got back inside I made my way up the stairs and stood in the doorway of our master bedroom. I hesitated as I walked in, he was already asleep.

I stripped and had a quick shower before I dried off and pulled on some fresh underwear.

I got straight into the bed...I turned on my side to face him, I was just about to reach out and caress his face when, eyes still shut he rolled over and gave me his back.

I furrowed my brows, I didn't want to cry, but it sure is hard when your mate rejects you, even subconsciously.
