The doctor looked up at me as I walked in. "Luna."

"How is he?" I asked carefully.

"Well they got his shoulder pretty good, He's got a severe Rotator Cuff Tear, with borderline svered tendons, a few broken ribs, and a very bruised hip...all on the right side." He filled me in. "Of course he's already healing, he'll heal quicker in wolf form...but right now it is ill advised to have him shift at all...if he shifts the healing will take place for his Wolf's muscular and skeletal structure and not his Human forms...so we are looking at a rather prolonged and painful healing process."

I nodded my understanding."When would you say it would be safe to have him shift?"

"Realistically..." He sighed, "I would feel much better about him shifting once the tendons and ligaments in the shoulder have set."

"And Jaxon?"

"The Beta is in a lot better shape as the attackers seemed to focus their efforts mostly on the Alpha...He's being monitored for a concussion and a broken elbow but that's pretty much the extent of his injury."

"And I take it no shifting for him either?"

The Doctor shook his head, "No Luna, He'll be in a sling for a while but as it was a clean break I have every faith that he will heal quickly...or rather, much quicker than the Alpha."

The Doctor and I talked a bit more on what to expect with Dean, medicines he'd be prescribing him and schedule for his medicines.

I thanked the Doctor after that before he left Dean and I alone.

I stepped out of my shoes and finally got into the bed and carefully snuggled against Dean's left side.

My stomach did content little flips at finally being near our Mate, but seeing him hurt was heartbreaking.

I gently touched his handsome face and kissed his cheek before I rested my head on his chest. I took in a deep breath as I listened to his even heartbeat, it was soothing to me, and I closed my eyes.

But before my tired state could take over someone knocked on the bedroom door and I got up quickly so the person knocking wouldn't disturb Dean.

It was my dad.

"Your Guard is here baby girl."

I sighed and thanked him before I looked back at Dean and then closed the door behind me so he could rest. I was ready to go down but My Dad stopped me.

"I know this is a lot right now...but we are all here for you."He said with genuine concern for not only me but Dean as well.

I appreciated that and I hugged him before meeting with the leader of the Guard in Dean's office.

It was just me and a familair looking man.

"Thank you for meeting me...obviously I am not the Alpha." I said nervously.

"It's a pleasure to serve under your order Luna, My name is Russ, I am the leader of the pack guard and the men are ready to do as you command."

I nodded Before I went to take a seat but a knock sounded from the door and Russ answered it.

"Alpha Carter." I greeted him. "Please have a seat...this is our Pack Guard Leader, Russ....Russ, this is Alpha Carter from Gainsborough, as our ally Alpha Carter has kindly offered himself alongside half of his own guard to help us until we can get this matter dealt with."

The too shook hands and both took seats before we came down with a plan of action.

"As of now I've got half our guard standing patrol around the pack borders." Russ filled me in.

I nodded.

"And my men are awaiting your order as well." Alpha Carter added.

"From what Mr Giles told me, Dean and Jaxon were ambushed today under the guise of a Challenge...all but two were dealt with, but of the two that got away, one of them was Jace Fletcher."

Russ understood now, "Luna if I may..."

I nodded, "I know former Alpha and Luna Fletcher...they wouldn't have allowed their son to just...-"

"I know, and I don't suspect they had any involvement...but Jace despite who his parents are is still acting in rebellion of this pack...as well as defying the council's rule on having him turned away from this pack and marked as a rogue."

"He's a former pack member?" Alpha Carter asked.

"Yes, he is the younger son of the previous Alpha and Luna...he tried to kill Dean before but resulted in killing his own brother instead, Former Aloha Ryan Fletcher." I said sadly.

Neither of them said anything.

"We have to catch him." I added, "Jace won't stop trying to come for what he thinks Dean took from him."

"The pack?" Alpha Carter asked.

"Not just the pack...me, Jace Fletcher was my first boyfriend before I found Dean as my mate, Dean was Ryan's best friend...Ryan named Dean his Beta and Dean and I were mates...so in Jace's eyes, Dean took everything from him."

"We'll handle this." Russ put in, "You don't worry about anything Luna."

I smiled and nodded, "I'll have to put out a message to the pack...no doubt they'll be worried about what happened earlier, some may even think we're under attack now...they'll also take note of your men as well." I said to Alpha Carter.

"Now again." I continued. "Jace got away, we know he got away with one guy...but that doesn't mean there aren't more, so I want them found." I said with finality now. "Alpha Carter if you don't mind having your guys stand guard for the pack I'll be able to let my men go and look for Jace, they know him and will be better able to identify him if he's in human form or pick up his scent if he's in his wolf form."

"Of course Luna." Alpha Carter sounded before we all got up as we knew what our plan of action was now.

But as I was getting ready to close the door knowing I'd have to get this mind link out and I wanted to get it done in private so no one could see me struggle with it, Russ suddenly turned back to face me.

"Luna?"

"Yes Russ?" I sounded.

"When we find Jace Fletcher...what do you want us to do?"

I hadn't stopped to think of the fact that I was asking my guys to go on a man hunt. All I knew was Jace Fletcher, an enemy of the pack, a marked rogue had attacked our pack Alpha and my mate.

I was the one who'd told Dean to show leniency by asking him to fight to submission in the challenge as I didn't want our pack to see him as a monster.

But with my next words I knew I'd be cementing my own future in the eyes of our pack.

"I want him killed."
