Endeavor's Hero Agency...

Enji's POV

I looked through the documents diligently when I suddenly heard knocking on the door, snapping me out of my little world. "Come in." I replied, my eyes stayed still on the pile of papers on my desk.

My secretary slowly crick opened the door. She walked into my office with my phone in her hand. "Endeavor-san, you left your phone in the meeting room." She informed me, handing over my phone to me. I nodded to her, taking it from her hand. She bowed to me slightly before walking away to leave my office.

"Ah, I forgot to mention this. Your daughter called you just now." She told me. I was a bit startled with her information. I turned on my phone and tapped at the call history icon, looking for my daughter's name. As my,secretary said, Fuyumi really did call me. It was a few minutes ago.

Something important must have happened.

"I got it. You can leave now." I thanked her. She slowly left the room, leaving me alone in this spacious space of mine yet felt very lonely. I tapped on Fuyumi's name to call her.

My hand moved to my ear, placing the phone on my ear while waiting for my daughter to answer. I heard the click sound, signing that she picked up the call. There were noises of Natsuo talking coming from the call.

"Shh! Natsu be silent for a second!" Fuyumi scolded them. A small smile tugged on my face. "H-Hello, Dad." She greeted me. "Hello, Fuyumi. Do you need something from me?" I asked her, referring to her miss call just now.

"Oh yeah! Actually... Natsu got a call from Shouto... H-He said Big Bro Touya i-is back. We're heading to hospital where Mom is staying. Touya is there... W-Why did you never tell us?" Fuyumi's voice became croaked. Guilty pang my heart when she uttered those words.

I should have told them... But Touya asked me to keep it secret first...

" I'm sorry about that, Fuyumi. Touya wasn't ready to face you and Natsuo so he told me to keep it secret from both of you until he is ready to meet both of you again." I explained to fix the misunderstanding. "I-I see. Sorry for raising my voice just now, Dad." She apologized.

"No, it's okay. It was my fault in the first place too." I assured my daughter. "Thanks, Dad. Anyway, do you want to come along with us? We can see Mom too." Fuyumi asked me, eager filling her voice. "I'd love to but I'm very today. Maybe I'll visit her  tomorrow." I refused in anxiety when she mentioned my wife. "O-Oh, okay then. I have to hang up now. We finally arrived at the hospital. I'll talk to yiu later, Dad." Fuyumi excused herself. I only nodded as a response before hanging up the call.

Rei...
I wanted to meet her. I wanted to apologize...
I really regretted my action...
For the past ten years, I have never visit her even once.
The meeting with Touya... Really opened my eyes and minded.

A heavy sigh escaped my mouth as Rei's face appeared in my mind. I stared at the phone screen long.

I will definitely visit her tomorrow...

Next day,
Morning,
At hospital,
Outside Rei's room...

Enji's POV

I stood still in front of the door, my right hand gripped the flower bouquet firmly in nervousness. Sweats trickled on my temple as I was very anxious right now.

You have decided it, Enji. Don't be a coward and face her...

Slowly, I knocked on the door three time. "Come in." I heard her voice, allowing me to enter her room. I slided open the door slightly in slow motion. "Ah, you guys come--" Rei remained silent when she saw me standing before her. Her grey eyes locked on me.

"E-Enji?" She gasped in disbelief. She clamped her mouth with her palms. "Rei..." I muttered her name while shutting the door close, staring at her unsurely. My grip on the flower bouquet became more firm.

Without I realizing, my hand instinctively reached out, showing to Rei the flowers. "O-Oh, Enji..." She said in croaky voice. I stepped forward, walking closer to my wife. "Rei... I..." I uttered her name in gentle voice.

"I'm sorry... For what I've done to you..." I asked for her forgiveness, bowing to her. Rei gasped in shock at my unexpected action. I raised up my head back while handing her over the flower bouquet. She accepted my gift, taking the flowers from my hand.

"Can we talk for a bit...?" I said  as I sat on the hospital bed facing Rei. She nervously nodded to me, approved with my request. Silence filled the atmosphere for a few minutes.

"Rei..." I called her out in low voice. Rei raised her head up, waiting for me to speak up again. "Yes, Enji?" She spoke up, a small smile presented on her feature.

The smile I haven't seen for years...

"Can I ask for a favor?" I clenched my trembling fist in anxiety. Rei didn't answer with words, instead she only nodded to me looking a bit confused and very eager to hear my favor. I gently held her hands, startling Rei.

"Will you come... And live with me again? With our children..." I bit my bottom lips, concern clouded my face. It took a lot of guts for me to ask that. "Enji... I-I..." She accepted without hesitation, tears seeped from her eyes.

"I'm sorry for what I've done to you for these past two decades of our marriege... I understand if you don't want to live with me and won't forgive me... I'm very sinful to you..." I stated, holding her hands tighter with my hands that seemed to be bigger than hers.

"Enji... I... I've always forgave you..." Rei sobbed softly. I lifted my head up, my turquoise eyes gazing into her grey one. "And I love to live with you again, Enji. I miss spending my time with you and our children." Rei caressed my left cheek with her sofr hand, tears rolled down her cheeks fastly.

"I want us to be a complete family again... With Touya had returned after went missing for ten years... These are the happiest moments in my life, Enji..." Rei confessed in happiness. "Thanks for accepting me back, dear." She smiled warmly at me.

"No, I'm the one who should be thanking. You forgave me without hesitation... Even though I tormented you for years..." I said in guilty, bringing her hand closer to my face.

"It's all because I was happy to see you again." Rei stroked my scarlet hair. "Maybe... All of this happen because of Izuku..." Rei sighed in relief. I looked at her confusedly. "Izuku... Do you mean Izuku Midoriya?" I asked her in curiousity. She nodded to me in eager.

"You know what, ever since I met her, good things had happened a lot to our family. Izuku's presence is like a blessing in our lives. She made Shouto realized who he was, she promised me to bring back Touya and she reunited us with Touya." Rei chuckled in delight. My smile widened when I heard her soft chuckles.

"I think fate is not as cruel as I thought... I'm very glad we can start again, Enji..." Rei gave me a bright smile. I reached out my hand to her, stroking her silky snow white hair. "Thanks again... For giving me a second chance, Rei..." I uttered under my breath.

This is a new start...
And I'll treasure this second chance I was given.
