Hi... so for those of you who don't know, I'm in university. It's the university of South Africa. It's a correspondence University. Right now it's all online, but normally you do your exams (this year it's only in November or December for me) in a building somewhere and you have a while (like a few weeks(?)) In between your exams. Right now I have nine modules I'm doing. It's also the time of the year when you hand in your assignments online. My assignments started on 15 May and ends on 13 August. I have all together 24 assignments. I have last night finished my 10th one. Until the 4 of June it's gonna be a tight squeeze to get those ones done. After that the pace calms down a bit. I have had a couple of nights where I work until 00:00 to hand in an assignment a day or two before the time so that the system doesn't kick me out because too many first year students submit their assignments on d-date. Ugh. I'm tired, struggle to finish assignments, which leads to two days of struggling then on the third night I pull a late nighter and the process goes on again. I have a hard time shutting my mind down when I have to sleep and sometimes I 'pass out' quickly other nights I fall asleep at 01:00/30 and wake up at 06:00 or 07:00 I need 8-9 hours of sleep to be in best shape but struggling. I am enjoying what I'm studying tho. Bachelor of Creative writing. It's a 3-4 year course depending on how many modules you do in a year. Most of mine are semester modules, but my exams are in December, so yikes. Next year it's year modules thankfully so it makes the pace a bit easier, seeing as how I won't have to struggle remembering which semester my module is for so the assignments won't be tricky to figure out which one to do. This year both semesters are in the same tutorial letter. But you only do yours so it's like, semester one assignments are in the front, semester two are in the back. BUT they have the same due dates!! I love what I'm doing but even with my short breaks in between working hours I think losing sleep is catching up to me a bit. Just thought I'd share.
