PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Shahlyla Ghazali was a free-spirited woman with a thirst for knowledge and adventure. She had a clear sense of justice and she loved to have fun when she was not buried in her work. She was slightly idealistic and naive, and she could sometimes be a hothead, but she was also very intelligent, diplomatic, and strong-willed. Her faith in humanity and her desire to protect people stayed with her throughout her life, right up until the time of her death.

CHARACTER ARC: Shahlyla was born in the Noor Dimension to a married couple; a ClanDestine man and a ClanDestine woman. She was exiled from her dimension due to the actions of another group and was separated from her parents as a teenager. Her place of exile was on Earth in Pakistan shortly after Partition. She was taken in by a kind older Muslim woman from Jersey City who raised her. Shortly after Shahlyla graduated college, she discovered that she had powers and asked her mother for answers, which is how she found out about her true heritage. In an effort to discover more about her roots, Shahlyla set out on a journey of self-discovery and became a geneticist. In her free time, she took up karaoke as a hobby and discovered that she had a singing talent. Due to being around for over one hundred years, Shahlyla was able to save countless lives with her expertise in genetics and her unique ClanDestine abilities. She was never reunited with her birth parents, but she eventually found true love when she traveled to the planet Aladna, where she fell in love with Prince Yan. He already had a wife, but only as a legal technicality. Though Shahlyla eventually fell in love with Yan, she originally started out as his rival. They had a small disagreement that led to them annoying each other, but they had to work together due to a threat involving Earth and Aladna. Throughout their time together, they fell in love, got married, and she learned how to control her powers. Unfortunately, years later, their planet was targeted years later by an evil Kree woman who wanted to steal their resources. Before the attack, they were visited by Yan's friend and wife (only for legal purposes), Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, along with her associates Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel and Monica Rambeau. Shahlyla quickly befriended all three of them and used her powers to help them fight off the Kree when they arrived. Unfortunately, she was wounded in battle trying to protect her husband and she later succumbed to her wounds.
