PERSONALITY AND CHARACTER ANALYSIS: Khadija Chumani is a quiet woman who tries very hard to stay out of trouble. She is bold through words and prose, and her cleverness is sharp. Her biggest weakness is how insecure she is, but she has a strong moral compass and is very open-minded. She is very protective of her loved ones and has a strong sense of justice. Her strong sense of justice, however, can sometimes make her irrational, but she tries to be aware of that.

CHARACTER ARC: Khadija Chumani was born in Dallas, Texas and grew up in a Catholic household. She was very close with her mother, her father, and her twin brother. When she and her brother were eighteen, he joined a call center run by Mickey Garnett, which was a scam center, and became a criminal. Khadija felt guilty that she couldn't keep him on a straight path, so she spent her whole life trying to reconnect with him, even while she was getting her college degree and when she became an English professor. In this trying time, she converted to Islam and found solace in religion despite how conservative her town was. She continued to reach out for her brother, who didn't even contact her when she got married or had kids. When she realized that her husband, Matt Wiley, was investigating the case of a call center that her brother was a part of, she faced the dilemma of keeping her kids safe at home or getting involved. Eventually, her expertise in the English language was needed and she helped her husband behind the scenes.  Ultimately, the scam center was shut down and her brother was arrested. They never reconciled.
