haruto is a man who is known for his benevolence, he is kind beyond kindness and it's often what makes people love him, though it has also been a very large reason for outsiders from his kingdom to hate him. haruto is a dedicated student to the idea of peace, he despises war just as his ancestors always have, he refuses to train a military and only keeps a small amount of guards which are taught the basics and not trained in warfare, further highlighting how much the king doesn't agree with the war which is raging around the world. that being said though, haruto will not accept harm coming to his people, he defends the innocent no matter what, though he ensures to never take lives, believing rehabilitation is always the answer instead of incarceration which is why there are no need for prisons in the air kingdom. haruto is very humble and down to earth, despite the element that he commands, he sees himself as equal to the lowest peasant and refuses to believe he is superior in anyway.

air manipulation

haruto has the ability to create, shape and manipulate the element of air to his whim. just as with all those who received the ability to manipulate air he was trained by the sacred thunderbird rai for the majority of his childhood, the beautiful creature helping him to ascend above those others as he could even fly without the need of a glider.

electricity manipulation

the manipulation of electricity has a dark history, it originating in fire benders and most of those either died to their power or they used it to kill others due to going mad with that power. however, within the air kingdom the ability has never once been seen until haruto manifested it, which is rather strange when you consider their sacred animal. haruto realised that by compressing air current friction he could generate electricity. from there he was trained in that along with air by rai and he become a rather fearsome warrior, though like all of his people he pursues peace and the taking of any life disturbs him.

haruto wields a wooden ornate bo staff, the weapon of his people for generations, except as it was crafted long before they ever invented their gliders it doesn't function as one. luckily for haruto though he has mastered flight and is capable of flying unassisted.
