Sun POV

"Sun?" The girl said.

"Moon?" I responded in shock. For a few moments we stood in complete silence. Why is she here? Why now?

Moon responded first. "H-how have you been?"

"Uh, great. I, uh, didn't know you lived in my old house now..." I stuttered.

"Yeah. We bought this place several years back. I didn't know this was your house though." She responded in a flat tone. I could hear the resentment in her voice returning. So she still hasn't changed after so long...

Lillie finally recovered from total shock. "WAIT WAIT WAIT. HOW DO YOU TWO KNOW EACH OTHER?" She yelled with confusion.

Moon looked at Lillie. "We were childhood friends a long time ago." Then she gave me a bit of a glare. "But not so much anymore."

Lillie could probably sense the tension, but I doubt she cared. "What do you mean 'not so much'?"

I scratched the back of my head. "It's kind of a long story..."

"Well, can you tell me?" Lillie asked impatiently.

I stood there looking down in silence. I didn't want to face this end of my past again. Not after what happened. Moon broke the silence once again.

"I can tell you some of it, but Sun still has parts of it he has to tell." She looked at me. "You want to help me with this at least?" She asked in a demeaning tone.

I nodded my head slowly. I looked up and saw Lillie with a bit of sadness in her eyes. It looked like she knew she was going to regret this.

Moon sighed. "Alright, Lillie. It all began when Sun and I were at a summer camp in Viridian City several years back..."

Flashback: 7 years ago...(Sun and Moon are 9)

Moon POV

We were on our long walk back to Viridian City, which was still a good ways away from here. Sun and I were walking together with the rest of our group. We were talking about how we would become Pokemon trainers some day.

"-and when I become champion, you and I are going to battle each other Moon." Sun told me.

I laughed. "Definitely. We will make it a good one."

All of the sudden, a horde of Beedrill attacked everyone in front of us. We all began freaking out. I could hear some of the adults try to calm us while the others battled the Beedrill. However, we all ran in separate directions.

Sum and I had ended up alone in a remote part of the forest. We couldn't see or hear anyone nearby. So of course we chose a logical option. Wait for someone to show up.

"Do you think anyone will even show up?" I asked.

"Yeah. The adults are probably scouring the forest trying to find everyone anyways." Sun said reassuringly.

So we sat under a tree in silence as we weren't sure what to do. We just waited with the thought one of the adults will find us.

After some time, we heard a rustle in the bushes. I figured that was a counselor.

"Sun, I think that's an adult. Let's go see." I said happily.

We ran up to the bushes and looked through them. To our dismay, we didn't find what we were hoping for...

"PINSIR! RUN!!" Sun yelled.

We ran as fast as we could to get away, but he was still following us. Luckily he didn't gain any ground on us. But, that's when things got bad.

I tripped over a tree root and fell over. I couldn't move cause I was caught on the root.

"SUN! HELP ME!" I yelled at Sun.

He turned around and looked at me, but then he looked at Pinsir. As soon as he looked at him, he ran away and out of sight.

I was heartbroken. Not only had he just left me alone, he left me to die to a Pinsir. I looked at the Pinsir who was standing over me. He let out a ear piercing scream, and slashed a deep, painful gash into my leg.

He looked like he was about to attack again, so I closed my eyes, crying at the fact I had been left to die.

I waited and waited, but nothing happened. When I opened my eyes, I saw a Golem holding the Pinsir up against the tree. When I looked around, I saw one of the counselors had found me.

She got rid of the Pinsir, and patched up my leg. She asked me if I had seen anyone else, and I told her that Sun had ran off down the path.

After finding Sun, we went straight to the hospital so I could get my leg fixed. After what happened, I grew a hatred towards Sun, and I never wanted to see him again. A few months later, he moved away to Pallet Town, and I never saw him again...

End of Flashback

Sun POV

"...And that's most of what happened." Moon finished.

Lillie was confused. "But how come you two couldn't become friends again. Surely you could understand he was scared."

Moon's face darkened. "That isn't the full reason."

"Then what is it?" Lillie asked. I looked down as I knew what part was next.

Moon shot me a death glare. "When the hospital released me, they told me that I could never walk the same way I once did. I had to constantly limp, and I couldn't run by myself. It also left a hideous scar on my leg. Because of that, everyone makes fun of my scar, and before I got over my limp, they taunted me over that as well. Because of Sun not saving me and running away like a little-" she stopped for a second and took a deep breath. "My life was a nightmare after that day. It isn't as bad now, but if it wasn't for him, I would've had such a better time."

Lillie looked at me. "Sun... are you ok?"

I got out of my seat and began to walk out the door. I was not dealing with this problem right now. I need to chill out before I explode.

"Sun, wait!" Lillie called out. She tried to reach out for me.

"Don't follow me Lillie. Just stay here." I said.

I walked out the door and slammed it behind me. I am not staying with that girl. If Lillie is her friend, then she is safe there for now. I just hope my old friend from before I left Pallet is still around...

Lillie POV

I was stunned. I have never seen this side of Sun before. All that happened to Moon through one mistake. The one mistake that cost her a normal life. It also cost Sun a friend.

I began to get up towards the door when I felt a hand grab my arm. I traced the hand back to Moon.

"Don't bother. He is just leaving you behind like he does everyone. He isn't worth it. Just stay here. Besides, that's what he wants you to do anyways." She said with venom in her voice. This is not the Moon I met a year ago.

"You don't understand Moon. Sun is my Boyfriend. He's worth it to me." I stated defensively.

"He is? Why would you care about a guy who just leaves people behind like that?" She asked, shocked at what I said.

"He has never done that before. He always helps everyone without hesitation. He isn't anything like you described." I informed her.

She came to realize something. "Wait. Is Sun the guy that you told me about that is the Alolan Champion now? The same guy who went on a journey with you to help your mother, and also has a Legendary Pokemon?"

I nodded. "Yeah. It is him. Still in shock about his courage?"

She looked at me. "I know why he has that courage now. It's because he regrets what happened to me, so he probably doesn't want that to happen to anyone ever again."

I dropped my jaw in shock as I took in the realization that the guy that saved me and always reassured me to keep me from suffering, was actually suffering himself...

Sun POV

I though after Lillie had gone to Kanto that I had finally suppressed that memory. I guess I just can't forget, can I?

I think I found the right place. I knocked on the door of a simple looking 2 story house. A Mr. Mime opened the door. As he did, I saw a woman in pink standing in the doorway.

"It's been a while, hasn't it Sun?" She asked.

"It sure has. Is he here? I need a place to stay." I asked her.

"Yes he is. You are also welcome to stay whenever you like you know." She stated as she let me inside. When I walked in, I saw a raven haired guy walk downstairs.

"Mom, who is-" he stops as he saw me. "Sun, it's you!"

I smiled at the sight of my old friend. "Hi Ash. It's been quite a while huh?"

Hope you guys like that plot twist though. I think this turned out right. It took me a while cause I got Writers Block on how to do the flashback. But I think this is right. Now Comment Question: Who is your favorite character in the Anime. This means all main protagonists only. Mine is Brock as he was by far the most reliable and responsible character. Except when he meets a girl... yeah let's not mention that. I hope you all have a great day.
