Chapter 2: Homecoming
Lillie's POV. 4 Hours earlier....
I walked into Bill's lab with the components he asked for the previous day. As I walked in, I noticed my mother was still laying on the couch next to the TV, while Bill was tinkering with the machine he was using to remove Ultra Beast remnants.
Bill looked at me as I walked in. "Oh welcome back Lillie. Did you pick up the parts I ordered?"
I layed the parts on the table next to him. He picks them up and examines them. "Ahh. This will do nicely. Thank you Lillie. Now that we have these parts, I can strengthen the Machine to Create a deeper pull on the remaining fragments."
I go and set down my bag. "That sounds wonderful. Do you think this should be enough in order to fully remove the remaining remnants from her?" I say hopefully.
He looks towards me with a smile. "Yes I believe it should be enough. However, it will take her a few weeks to fully recover from the effects of the Machine. So there is really nothing more you can do for the next several weeks."
I look towards him. "Are you sure I can't help anymore?" I didn't want to feel usless while my mother is still trying to recover.
He shook his head. "I am sorry Lillie. But for now, or at least until she recovers, you can go visit some friends if you really want to."
As soon as he said that, Sun immediately popped into my mind. I haven't been back to Alola since I left and I haven't talked to him or anyone back there since nearly 8 months ago. Maybe I should go back to Alola and see him...
I walk over to my mother, who happens to be watching a news special on the Lake of Rage. "How are you feeling right now?" I ask her.
"It doesn't hurt so much anymore, but I still have trouble standing by myself." She says softly. I can tell she still is feeling the effects from the machine. "Lillie, are you thinking about going to Alola to visit everyone again?"
I tried to dodge the question. "You just worry about getting better. You will be back to normal in no time." As I turn to go make dinner, I feel something grab my hand.
"Don't avoid my question Lillie. I heard you talking to Bill. If you want to go visit them again, then go. I know you are dying to see him again after an entire year."
My face starts to feel warm as I once again, attempt to avoid her accusation. "Oh you mean Hau?" She laughs at my comment. "Oh Lillie. You know who I am talking about. After what you have told me about your adventures, as well as how Sun has been with you through all of this, I know you love him. After all, I am your mother. I can read you like a book."
My face turns Rose Red, but I couldn't deny her. After all, how could I forget the one who helped me without any hesitation. I still remember that smile that always brightened up my day. "Ok. You caught me. I do miss him and I wish he was with me right now."
"Then go to him Lillie. After all, I can't go anywhere for the next several weeks. I'm not against it." She smiled at me.
"Thank you so much mother." I then went to go help Bill make dinner.
The next day...
I make sure I have all my stuff before I decided to enter the boat. Now that I am a pokemon trainer, I have to always make sure I have my pokemon and some pokeballs on hand.
I hear a last call for a ride to Alola, and I enter the boat with a bit of a dejavu feeling. I remember when I was leaving Alola that I just couldn't stop waving back. But now I can finally go back to the place I've missed for so long.
As I watch the boat move away from Vermillion City, I can't help but think about Sun and how I can finally see him after such a long year...
Back on Alola....
"Hey Sun." My mother called out to me. "The League is calling. Apparently you have a challenger today."
I grab my pokemon and get ready to head out to the league. "Did they say at all who it might be?"
"No they never said." My mom gave me my lunch as I walk out the door. "Good luck Sun. I will be watching.
I ride my Charizard over to the league and I head up the stairs. Once I climb up there, I found Hau standing up there waiting for me.
"Hey Sun. are you ready to battle?" He said as I walk onto the battlefield.
"You bet I am Hau. Let's do this!" I say as I toss out my Toucannon.
The battle was fierce and difficult. Hau had me on the ropes for a moment, after knocking out my Toucannon and Jolteon really fast, but I was able to bring it back with Lycanroc. We were trading blow for blow on each of our teams. But it ended up ending with him returning his last pokemon while my Decidueye was still standing.
Hau wipes the sweat off his forehead. "Still as tough as ever Sun. Congratulations."
"Thanks Hau. You have gotten tougher."
"You think so? Thanks. But just so you know, beating you wasn't my intention when I challenged you today." He says with a big grin.
I stare at him with the most confused look I have ever given someone. "What are you implying here Hau?"
He grins even more after I ask him. "Come with me." He says as he grabs me by the wrist and practically drags me with him.
We hop on our Charizards and I follow him to the Marina. I thought it was odd that he would take me here without telling me why he was doing it.
"Why are we here Hau?" I asked as he made me follow him inside the building.
He points up toward the board with incoming and outgoing boats and I see one with Kanto on there that says is incoming to the marina. My mind explodes and my jaw drops to the floor. He sees my reaction and laughs. "I figured you might do something like that."
I look straight at him. "Are you sure it's her?"
He smiles at me. "I am positive. We haven't seen a boat from anywhere show up since the one from Sinnoh 4 months ago."
My eyes widen "I think I'm going to wait here for her to show up." I look at my watch and look at the expected arrival time of the boat and it is due here in about 45 minutes surprisingly. Hau looks at me and starts laughing. I narrow my eyes at him.
"What are you laughing about?" He grins at me.
"Sun, I'm not blind. I know why you are crazy happy in the first place."
I try to play it off. "What are you talking about Hau? I haven't see her in a year. Of course I'm happy."
"Sun you can't hide it. I have been your friend for a while now. I see you here sometimes just staring out into the ocean. It's kind of crazy how often you do that."
"So?"
He looks at me. "Sun, most of us know this already. You're in love with Lillie. You can't deny it."
I give up the act. Hau caught me red handed. "Was it really that obvious? I didn't even try to show it."
"Well it doesn't matter how easy I could tell right now. I am going to grab Gladion and I'll be right back. I already told the village and they are setting up a party for her."
"Ok Hau. Thanks for telling me. I'll wait here for her to show up."
"Alright Sun. I'll be back."
As he leaves on Charizard, I bring out Nebby and I stroke his mane while I sit on the edge with him. I start to remember some of the old memories of her before she left as I stare off at the ocean, waiting for a boat to appear along the horizon.
"So you are finally coming home. I'm waiting for you Lillie." I said softly.
HOLY CRAP A NEW CHAPTER SO SOON AND SO LONG? I MUST HAVE NO LIFE! In reality, it did take me like 3-4 hours or somewhere around there to make this but I am a pretty fast typer. I wanted to set up this chapter just to get a definitive story going. I will write chapter 3 tomorrow but I won't publish it yet cause I don't want to spam everyone's notifications, and I don't want to rush the story. So Comment Question time. Who has played through every Pokémon game throughout all the generations. I personally haven't cause I could never get my hands on a 1st gen game. Anyways sorry for dragging this chapter out so much and hope you all enjoy your day.
