Lydia was then taken to the underwater kingdom that some legends called Atlantis, but the sea creatures only knew it as their kingdom.
He led her into an entrance and turned to her locket, "open the locket and set the pear on this stand."
Lydia then opened her locket and held a glowing pearl. She then set it on a stand infront of her and the statues around them started to glow.
Lydia watched as the whole room light up. Then a spirit came out one statue infront of Lydia. He turned to Lydia, "Lydia...my sweet daughter," he smiled, "look at you all grown up."
Lydia felt he could be her father. She then blushed at the compliment he gave her.
The lizard man spirit smiled and turned to Winfred, "could you wake up the rest of the ancestors?"
"Anything for you, old friend."
Each of the statues flowed brighter and then spirits emerged from each one.
Once all the spirits were out, one snapped, "I knew it. I knew to, that princess Lydia was a trouble maker from the start and what's worse she inlove with a trouble maker!"
"Don't look at me, she is from your side of the family."
"She is just trying to be the best first mate.."
"But if she chooses to be with the clown, our kingdom will vanish, no one to rule the ocean.."
"Not to mention Arlong forced her into marriage and he owns part of the ocean now..."
The king who Lydia assumed was her father groaned at him for saying that.
"But she got out of marriage. Buggy and her had been friends since they were children. He saved her from Arlong's forced marriage! He's a good fit for our little princess." Another Sprit yelled.
"Yes a pirate! And she's a princess mermaid! Pirates and mermaids never had mixed."
"Excuse me?" Everyone looked seeing a pirate spirit before them, "I married one of you." A mermaid queen then hugged his arm.
"And aren't we all protectors of the land creatures also? Lydia is free to whoever she marries," the king finally spoke. "I married a human. That's why Lydia can't turn into a mermaid without the necklace around her neck. And it only works for the royal family. Sorry this reunion isn't the best, sweetie. You know family."
Lydia giggled and nodded.
"Well I've never encouraged our kind marrying humans. Let alone PIRATES they're the worst kind of humans." Another said.
The pirate spirit then sighed, "we're not all bad. And even those that are, can change for love."
He father turned to Lydia and smiled, "I know you're strong like your mother and you'll follow your heart and be happy. Your happiness is all that matters to us."
Lydia then smiled at her father. But soon it was time for them to go back to rest. Her father came to her and held her face smiling at her and then pulled her into a hug. Then one by one the spirits faded away. Her father was the last.
Then they both heard a trumpet roar in the ocean.
"Sound like they found something. Let's hope it's the rest of your captain," Winfred smiled.
