The next morning, Lydia woke up finding Buggy missing. She looked for him the room, "Bug'? Buggy!?" She ran out, "BUGGY!? Mihawk, Buggy is missing."

"No he's not, he's with Cabaji."

Luffy then came over hearing the yelling "it's alright Lydia, he isn't missing. He just got sick in the night and did not want to wake you"

"Cabaji used to also be ship's doctor," Mohji said, "so he's taking care of him."

"As long as it's not catching," Usopp shivered, "I don't want to get sick too."

"Luffy, could you please take me to him?" She begged.

"Of course," Luffy smiled, "the infirmary is right this way."

Luffy then led her below deck and towards the stern end of the ship, where the hospital room was. He pushed open the door, "how's the patient, Cabaji? He has a visitor."

Buggy was lay with an ice pack on his head and his eyes closed.

"He has a fever. His forehead is burning up, which means the rest of him will be too, wherever that is. Buggy hasn't had a fever since he was a child, I don't understand what's caused it."

"....," Lydia teared up covering her mouth and went to him, "B-Buggy? Can you speak?"

Buggy slowly opened his eyes, "oh...Lyds....I don't feel so good. I-I'm glad you're here.....will you please.....hold my hand..."

Lydia realized then that he was scared. Holding each others hand when they were afraid of something as kids was what they always did.

"...Buggy...what did Arlong and his crew do to you?!" She gripped on his hand tight, but not too tight to hurt him.

"....uh...," he closed his eyes, "....beat me mostly....kicked me, choked me....that kinda stuff...oh, yeah...," he then wearily opened one eye as he remembered, "....Pisaro stabbed me in the side of my stomach. It....was bleeding....and hurt quite a lot."

"Cabaji....he's...he's...," Lydia couldn't say it. She was now choking on her tears.

"....hey....don't cry, baby...I can't feel any pain now," Buggy said, lifting his hand trying to cup her cheek.

"The bleeding would cause the weakness if he was still bleeding out," Cabaji said, "it's not the injury itself, it's the wound."

"Is that not the same thing?" Luffy asked.

"No, the wound must be infected because it hasn't been treated. That's causing the fever. Once we find the rest of him and get him patched up....hopefully he should recover."

"I will go and find them now," Lydia then kissed Buggy and ran out. She stopped and turned to Luffy, "I know he doesn't like you, but please, watch over him?"

"Of course. I'll make him like me too one day. I promise I will keep him safe, as long as you promise not to go alone searching. Is that a deal? Oh and take a Den Den Mushi, then we can call each other," he handed Lydia the small snail-like device that was a vocal communicator.

"I won't be alone...I have friends down below, and alright." She took the snail, "he is ok underwater is he?"

Luffy nodded, "completely waterproof. Please, be careful. If anything happens to you, Binky will kill me."

"Buggy," Lydia and Cabaji said, but Lydia smiled. She then leaned in and kissed Luffy on his cheek. His eyes widened shocked and blushed she did that. She then turned to Buggy and kissed him one more time, "I will be right back, Bug', I promise, I'm going to save you. Then you will be normal again."

He slowly opened his eyes and pouted "....don't....don't leave me..."

"It's alright Boogey. I'll hold your hand if you want comforting," Luffy offered.

Buggy gave him a "what the f**k?!" look.

"Alright, I'll get Nami to come hold your hand."

"Better than yours.....but noooo....," he whined "......I want my Lydia...."

"I could get Shanks," Lydia smiled, "he would love to."

Buggy's bottom lip came right out, like a little kid, "I'd rather hold hands with Alvida than him!"

Lydia dropped her smile. She swallowed and pulled her hand away from him. "Alright...fine...I will be back, Captain...?"

Lydia covered her mouth choking her tears as she rushed out.

Cabaji then turned to him surprised Buggy said that, "really, Captain? She will still help you, but now you've done it."

"....why? I was saying I would have to be....desperate to hold her hand....I only hate her a little less than Shanks..."

"Yea, but she misunderstood. You didn't talk to her and get that misunderstanding cleared up about your past with Alvida, did you?"

Buggy closed his eyes and groaned, ".....i fucked up again."

"Hey it's ok," Luffy said, "when she comes back, you can tell her, Bogey."

"Ugghh....the name, is BUGGY!!" he growled and held out his hand, "...give me your damn phone. I need....to call her.....if I die....I need her to know she misunderstood."

Luffy nodded and quickly offered him his phone.

Down below, Lydia had the snail in her satchel. She swam into ocean deeper. She knew she could communicate to her friends so she used her sonar calls to Winfred, Nemo, and Flounder.

Winfred heard the call and called his troops they, Nemo, and Flounder finally arrived.

As she didn't hear the phone ring, Buggy left her a voicemail "Lydia, baby.....I didn't mean what you thought I meant.....about Alvida. We have history, but it's never been......anything romantic....never....I needed you to hear this....just in case.....I can't hold on....but I will try....I don't want to die, baby.....I don't want to leave you."

When Lydia told her friends Buggy's life was in trouble now even more and needed to find his pieces of his body they could save him.

Winfred then turned to his soldiers and they saluted to her. "Yes your majesty." They then left with Nemo and Flounder.

"Your highness, I think I need to take you back to the kingdom. There is some people the need to see you..."

She nodded and he led the way. She stopped and checked the snail since he was on her shoulder telling her she had a message from Luffy's snail. She heard Buggy's message and sighed. She felt better at least knowing the two were just friends. "Hang on, Captain."
