Chapter Four | Drifting

"I saw you last Saturday with Dax Johnson" Marcus suddenly as I was doing homework in the living room.
I raised an eyebrow. It was Tuesday and now he brings that up?
"Okay?" I question and look up at him in confusion.
I push my glasses back up and make it clear to him I didn't understand what he was getting at.
"He's one of our biggest rivals. You shouldn't get involved with him" Marcus says and shrugs carelessly.
"Okay. I'll remember your suggestion" I say and look back down at my laptop.
"Suggestion? Let's make it clear that if I tell Jake what I saw—it won't just be a suggestion" Marcus says and leans forward onto the couch I'm sitting on and he leans down.
"Okay" I say. I was too star struck to say anything else to him. I felt his breathing on my neck.
Shivers shot down my spine and I mentally cursed myself for being so in love with the idiot, that even my body was crumbling by his stupid breath on my skin.
"Stay away from Dax. If I hear anything, I will tell Jake about it" Marcus says while leaning further down to see my face.
I look down and nod hurriedly. He chuckles dryly before leaving to Terry's room.
I leaned back in the couch and I rubbed my face. God, why did I have to like those green eyes.
The green eyes with the perfectly styled brunette hair, messy but styled look always.
His ripped body and tattoos made me crumble just by the thought of feeling his skin on mine.
To see all of his tattoos, to trace them with my fragile fingers.
The things I would do for him if he asked.
I groaned loudly and throw myself back in the couch. I called Serena and told her I had to get out of here.
She raced up to our house within two minutes and honked crazily.
"Alex! Where are you going?" Jake shouted after me as I ran out to Serena's car.
"Out!" I shout back and he rolls his eyes before waving me off as I get in her car.
"Turn up the music" I tell her and she smirks before doing a wheel spin in front of our house as she takes off.
I laugh as I see Marcus coming out with Terry behind him.
I answered Dax' texts. He was flirting with me, I found it hard to believe, but after overanalyzing it and showing it to Serena, it was concluded that he was indeed flirting with me.
"Let's go to McDonald's" Serena says and I nod. She pulls up and we order what would be our dinner.
We find an empty parking lot and eat it there in peace. "Show me what Claire taught you!" She suddenly cheers.
"You sure?" I ask her. It was a pretty new car.
"Yes!!" Serena shouts and I giggle before switching places with her. "And do the drifting! It's hot as hell!" Serena shouts excitedly.
I laugh at her before obeying her commands. She cheered wildly as I made donuts and drifted around the parking lot.
I laughed at her as she sat on the window that was rolled down, she cheered as the music blasted and I drove around.
Still keeping an eye on Serena of course, while doing all this. It could be dangerous as hell.
But it wasn't anything we hadn't tried before.
Suddenly cars piled into the parking lot as I drifted. I stopped the car to not endanger anyone.
That's when I saw it wasn't civil people, or it was, but it was racers.
I swallowed the lump in my throat, I had been too confident with this and someone had seen.
That had to be it.
I saw a familiar motorcycle and I raised an eyebrow. "That's Dax' motorcycle" I say and point to show Serena.
"Yo, Alex. Are we in trouble here?" Serena asks as she can't figure out the vibe.
"I don't know..." I tell her truthfully. I pulled out my phone and found Jake's number, my finger lingered over the call button.
"Wait—he's coming here" Serena said interrupting me and I looked up and saw him indeed racing up next to us.
I rolled down the window and he pulled off his helmet. "Alex? That was you driving?" He asks in surprise.
"Yeah..." I say sheepishly and blush. "Wow! We were worried a new pro was in town! I didn't know you could drive like that" Dax said amazed and I giggled while blushing red like a tomato
"Show us more!" Dax encouraged. "I don't think so, we were just playing around. We were alone and jus—""—Come on, nobody here has anything to hold against you. You're amazing out there" Dax said coaxing me.
I looked at Serena unsure and she shrugged with an excited expression.
"Then just show me—what you can do, do it for me" Dax said with a smirk and winked at me.
"Alright" I half whisper. Dax drove on before turning. To face the same way as Serena's Ford did.
"You ready?" Dax asked and I nodded slowly. We both took off, I did my thing and Dax did a few stunts as well.
I slowly started finding a smile in this as I saw multiple cars joins us and race around along with motorcycles.
This was fun.
I suddenly saw someone film us all as we drove in circles, drifting, racing, doing burnouts in pure daylight.
I parked by the side and Dax rolled over to my window. "You're fucking incredible, do you know that?" He gushes at me.
I'm too surprised to say anything. I look down and Serena squeals in excitement at the flirting he threw at me.
I just didn't know how to catch it. I didn't know how to be confident and return the favor.
I didn't know. I was clueless to this, I knew nothing about flirting, relationships, emotionally intimate stuff.
Suddenly my phone started blowing up. I look down and see Jake, Terry, Claire, Dean, Marcus and Roy were either calling or texting me.
I shared a look with Serena and she nodded.
"Oh, we should head home" I say, but Dax puts his hand in the roof of the car to stop me.
"When can I see you again?" He asks with a bright smile.
Marcus imprinted on my mind. He told me not to see him, but I already defied his command.
"I will text you" I say and smile at him. He returns the smile before letting us go.
We drive out of the parking lot and multiple people cheers as we roll past them.
I couldn't help, but smile and laugh. "You're popular as hell here, you do realize that right?" Serena said in amazement.
"I think popular is a bit stretched, what do you think about Dax?" I ask her with a blush.
"He's hot! I would fuck him" Serena retorts and I laugh at her. "Of course you would"
I drive us back to my place. But as I get out of Serena's car and we switch side,
Everyone is outside, getting into their cars or motorcycles. "Guys? What's going on?" I call out confused.
Claire turns to me and she rushes up to me. "What the hell are you doing!?" She asks me hurriedly as she checks me over.
"What? What did I do?" I ask her confused.
"Serena, go home! Now!" Claire orders. Before she can say more to me, Serena takes off and Jake storms down to me.
He grabs my arms and pulls me after him into our house. "Ow! Jake stop! You're hurting me" I whimper as he shoves me through the front door.
"What the hell are you thinking!? You were racing and drifting with our enemy? What the fuck Alex!?" Jake shouts at me.
I flinch at his tone and I look down. "I didn't know—""—I don't fucking care!! Since when the fuck do you drive like that? Since when do you drive with other people?" Jake shouts at me.
"Serena and I were just having fun, we didn't mean to—""—Give me your phone" Jake snaps at me.
I raise my brows confused and I see Marcus step into the room. "You've been talking to that asshole, haven't you?" Jake snaps and he takes my phone out of my hand.
"Jake? What is this? What the hell are you doing?" I ask him shocked and confused.
Marcus crossed his arms. Mouthing 'I told you'.
Anger takes over as I realize it was him. It was him who fucked everything up.
He was the reason my brother was yelling at me, hurting me and tried to go through my phone.
I grab my phone from my brothers hands and shove him back from me.
"Fuck you, Marcus!" I snap at him before storming upstairs to my bedroom.
I slam the door as hard as I can and lock it before I throw myself in my bed.
Fucking Marcus Torres. You piece of shit.
