2. Meet the family(Part Two)

"Open up," the guy outside shouted.

"Sit in the front," Pia mouthed from inside the car. The tall guy didn't seem to get her words as he kept on banging against the window.

"OPEN UP RIGHT NOW." Pia's twin growled.

Pia thought it was futile to make a blockhead understand human words. She opened the door and moved inside.

Shoving his backpack and sport shoes, Parth stretched his long hands. He looked tired and out of breath.

"How was practice?" Riian asked, starting the car again. The stench from Parth's jersey and shoes filled the inside of the car.

"It didn't go well." Parth looked frustrated. He had a long day.

"Did you even shower?" Pia pulled out her handkerchief, covering her face. She regretted opening the car door earlier. They should have just left him on the road.

"Shut up." Parth wasn't in the mood of his usual banter with Pia. Normally he would just come up with some witty remark and hug his sister with his sweaty arms until she would beg Riian for help. However today was not the day.

Parth kept on grumbling to himself which made Riian and Pia look in their brother's direction. Something must have happened.

"Did something happen?" Pia nudged her twin by the elbow.

"Nah, it's nothing important," Parth cracked a wry smile. Parth thought it was better if they didn't know. Dealing with those shitty seniors and getting a spot in the team was his own responsibility.

"Come on, you can tell us." Pia had known Parth long enough to understand when her brother was keeping something from her. She placed her left land on his right one. "We are all family here Parth. If those seniors or your coach are picking on you again, you can tell us."

"It's really nothing. It was just a bad day at practice," Parth reassured her. "Or did you miss my handsome face? Did your friends ask for this pretty boy's number?" Parth wriggled his eyebrows, trying to divert his sister's attention.

And seems like it worked. Pia's face turned sour in a matter of seconds. All thoughts of concern went right out of the window.

However the small bruise along Parth's jawline caught Riian's watchful eyes. "Did you get into a fight?" Riian asked seriously.

"No. Why would I get into a fight?" Parth was confident he hid his bruises well before leaving practice.

"Then where did you get that bruise?" Riian's eyes made contact with Parth through the rearview mirror.

"Where?" Parth searched his face for any bruise. He switched on his phone's camera to get a clear view. Certainly, there was a little red bump on the left side of his jaw. It was where one of his senior teammate had punched him. Shit! Parth groaned mentally.

"Who did that to your face?" Riian asked.

"No one," Parth repeated.

"Are you going to tell me or should I use some other way." Riian wasn't kidding. What he meant was calling his sources and making them dig up the truth. At a young age of twenty, Riian was already one of the prominent figures in his grandfather's company.

With great power doesn't only comes responsibility but also, a large number of useful contacts.

"It's none of your damn business." Parth clenched his fist trying to contain his anger. He understood Riian was concerned but it was becoming difficult to control his emotions inside. He just had one hell of a day and now he had to cope with all this family drama.

"Your business is my business," Riian's voice was sharp. He wasn't letting this go easily.

"No you are just too nosy," Parth snorted.

"Just give me a name." Riian wasn't as protective over Parth as compared to Pia but that didn't mean someone would punch his brother and he would just sit and watch.

"Concentrate on the road."

"Why are being so unreasonable?"

"Just look ahead. You are in the driver's seat."

Listening to the heated conversation between the two siblings, Pia decided to intervene. She was aware of Riian's pushy nature. The guy just doesn't know when to let go.

"Just stop it already. I am tired of listening to you two. I am exhausted from school and hungry. I want to go home," she yelled, making her brothers stop. They had almost forgotten there was a third person inside the car.

Next she directed her gaze at Riian, "Lets just go home for now. You know how stubborn he is, we can talk later when he cools down a bit."

Riian and Parth went quiet. However the serious atmosphere between the two brothers still remained.

Since reaching home Riian and Parth had been eerily quiet. They both kept glaring at each other from time to time. Aiza's eyes kept on going to and fro between the two of them. Aiza felt worried without even knowing the reason. What's up with these two? she wondered. And that wasn't all, even her elder sister was spacing out. Aiza narrowed her eyes at Pia.

Tell me! Tell me! Tell me! Aiza sent telepathic signals to her sister.

Avoiding Aiza's creepy eyes, Pia suddenly got up from the dining table. "I am full," she said, carrying her dirty dishes.

"You hardly had anything. Didn't you say you were hungry?" Riian looked up from his tab. Reading official papers while eating food was his common habit. Aiza had complained many times not to bring work at the table.

"I need to get ready for a party," Pia turned around to reply.

"What party?" Riian's forehead crinkled as he heard this new piece of information. How come he didn't know about this.

"It's more like a hangout between friends. All my classmates will be there," Pia disappeared into the kitchen. There were only two hours left till the party. She needed to put something together fast. Tonight's mission - capture Aarav's attention.

"I wish I could go also." Aiza said while eating a spoonful of gravy rice. "Do you need my help getting ready?"

"Yes. That would be great." It's always better to have someone's opinion while dressing up.

"I will drop you then," Riian commented, putting his tab down. The damn paper didn't interest him anymore.

"No. That would be alright. I can drive myself there," Pia replied with a smile.

No way in hell was Pia going to let Riian drive her to Aarav's. Riian had already seen them once together, a second time within the same day can't be good.

"I have to meet a client anyway. You can just go with me," Riian insisted.

"You already go through the trouble of dropping me off at school. My friends already make fun of me. Please don't embarrass me at the party as well." Pia was trying her best to get her brother off her back. It's not like her friends minded a handsome bachelor appearing near the school everyday.

"In that case, I can drop you off a few blocks before then. You can walk from there." Riian wasn't giving up either. His protect-my-sister radar was on.

"NO." Pia was stubborn as well.

"YES."

"I said no."

"And I said yes."

"I am not a little kid Riian. I can drive myself there."

"I am your elder brother Pia. And when I say I am driving you there, it means I am driving you."

Aiza slowed down on her food. Looks like her help was not needed at the moment. She enjoyed her matinee show as she finished the rest of  the gravy.

"No way in hell." Pia growled.

"Yes way." Riian said right back.

As both elder brother and his sister kept on bickering, the one person who had been silent throughout the entire time finally stood up.

"I will take her to the party."

Pia and Riian both looked at Parth. Parth's expression seemed unchanged ever since he entered home.

"Alright. I will get ready by six." With that Pia grabbed Aiza and went upstairs. Better Parth than Riian, Pia thought to herself as she entered her bedroom.

On the other hand, Riian scowled like a little child. Pia would let Parth take her but not him. Talk about being biased!
