If I Wrote MCD (Part 4)
So uh...kind of left you guys hanging there, huh? Didn't even realize that it's been over a year since I've done one of these...Sorry about that...uhhhhh fun fact I went on to outline the whole show in its entirety so I guess I can actually frequently update you guys on what I would do. So...yay?
Also this is a tribute to PurpleCrystal04 who showed a lot of support to the previous parts and motivated me to finish this! Hope you like it!
SO! They are all at Pikoro to rest and recharge. While they were recuperating and Dante was healing at the infirmary, a woman comes up to them, immediately starting to ask about Malachi. Aphmau, already protective of the little boy, pulls him close and asked her if there was a problem. She quickly apologizes and says she's a witch and is very interested in magic. She also explains that she had never seen a ghost before and was shocked to see it so calm when she heard they tend to be aggressive. Garroth then asked, not fully trusting her if she had a name. She again apologizes for her ramble and says her name is Lucinda.
Lucinda --> Okay. I want to keep her pretty much the same because Lucinda is Queen. Let's not kid ourselves. But, her backstory is very interesting but so underrated. I want her to still be considered an outcast but, for more than just her being a witch. I always found it weird that Pikoro didn't like witches while the rest of Ru'an kind of appreciated them. So, I want her to be the ex-lord of Pikoro. After her father died, linked to again those mysterious killings, she was crowned Lord. Unfortunately, because her mother was not involved in her childhood, she didn't have the proper training to handle her magic. I also want witches to not receive any magical powers until like 18 or something. So, all of a sudden, she is trying to handle her magic while also being a Lord. Let's say maybe she was having a council meeting or whatever with a few important officials. She got overwhelmed and started a fire in the building, causing her and only a few others to be the only survivors. The families grew angry at her and took away her title. She now lives on the outskirts of the city and comes into town for supplies and such. So yes, she's still our sassy Queen with a little bit of a different backstory.
Aphmau, hearing that Pikoro doesn't really trust magic, sees that some people are glaring at Malachi and deems it unsafe to stay here. She explains to Lucinda though that her friend is getting healed and he is unfit to go much farther to the other villages. Lucinda offers her cottage for the four of them to stay in while their friend is being healed. Laurance offers to stay behind with Dante while Garroth, Aphmau, and Malachi go. They do and they part ways for the time being.
Okay, one thing that I think I stated before but, I'll say again because I'm not sure, is that I want more of a chance for scenes without Aphmau to occur. Since it doesn't have to be through her eyes anymore, I want possible character development without her involved. So, this episode, I think we'll have a bonding moment between Laurance and Dante, really showing more of Dante at this point. I want the two to have a bonding moment where they relate with each other about being orphaned at a young age. Like maybe Laurance comes into his room to keep him company and Dante asks where he's from to start small talk. This conversation grows to them talking about their families and how Laurance kept having the worst luck with finding one until he met his current one while Dante loved the one he had but, lost it due to a "tragic accident". This will not only show the audience that these two struggle with finding familial love but, also develop a deeper connection with these two that will blossom into a brotherly love later on.
Another thing I want to touch on real quick is that I feel like I want to add moments like these more in the show because I think Aphmau, Garroth, Dante, and Laurance had all this in common, of course all in different ways, that I think didn't really get touched on in the show enough. It's what made me love these four so much and made them such impactful characters to me. So, yes, I'll add little scenes like these and others for other characters as I see fit.
So, you're all probably catching on to this by now...but yes, Garmau will be canon. For a time yes. Don't worry. There will be Laurmau in the future as well as Aarmau but, due to my idea for the show, I think having Garmau in the show will make my plans a bit more...dramatic???
So, anyway, cutting back to the three who went to Lucinda's, Lucinda made them dinner and offered to help them resupply for their journey home. She also offered them some more books talking about Irene and the Divine Warriors that she thinks they will find helpful. The two thank her and help Malachi to bed. Lucinda then says she'll be in her...witch room? I don't know what they're called...the room where they make potions and practice spells. You know? She goes there!
And if you thought there would be no Garmau scenes, you're a fool for thinking that this retired Garmau shipper would not pounce on the opportunity. Aphmau pulls Garroth aside so they can talk.
They go outside on the porch of the cottage where there's some privacy and Aphmau tells Garroth that she's very touched that he felt comfortable with telling her about his past. She also comes clean that she was worried that he wasn't completely comfortable around her. Garroth then takes the chance to say that it does take time for him to completely trust people but, he admits that there was something about her that made him trust her more quickly than usual. Because of this, it wasn't because of "comfortability" but because he, himself, doesn't like thinking about his past and the choices he made. He admits that he regrets sometimes not going through with the marriage with Nicole, knowing now that the two of them could get along and probably would've done their duty at the end of the day, which was really all their parents wanted. Aphmau though tells him to give himself some more credit and says that love is love or something like that, and being forced to marry someone, even if it's for duty, can be challenging. Especially for someone so young.
Garroth thanks her but, he now worries that Zane knows where he is and Phoenix Drop could now be the new target for O'Khasis' rage. A war was coming and he knew it. Especially if Garte had anything to say about it.
Aphmau takes Garroth's hand and says something along the line of; "I told Zane that you're not going anywhere for a reason. And I meant that. I need you. And I want you by my side so, if a war has to be fought out for it to be clear than so be it."
Garroth is just hung up on the "I want you by my side" part and Aphmau laughs at his now red face. She embraces him and says; "Whether you accept it or not, I really care about you. So please...don't think I want you anywhere else but with me."
The two embrace and I want this to be the marker where they are officially "courting" each other. I guess the proper term would be dating as the two of them have now shared multiple romantic moments but this time, Aphmau made her feelings clear. She wanted this as much as him and wants to at least try.
Part of me kind of wishes to keep the whole Laurance verses Garroth rivalry with Aphmau but, I think love triangles are really overdone and with this whole Aaron being endgame, it doesn't make much sense to dwell on it and make fans devoted to it. Of course, I want to explore each relationship but in a natural way. Not forced. So don't worry. Laurmau is coming but not till...later. I guess this does spoil the eventual downfall of Garmau but I promise it's the best for both of them and it'll make sense once we get there.
Anyways, to wrap up the rest of this quest, Lucinda says that she has some information regarding the amulet, confirming that it is indeed cursed and will follow it's victim no matter where they go off to. The only way fully to prevent further events from its magic is for the "curser" to recant the curse. So, they're screwed essentially until they can come up with a way for Zane to take it back.
Laurance and Dante arrive at the cottage and Lucinda transports the group back to Phoenix Drop, her wanting to return with them to hopefully help contain the pendant to lighten the weight of the curse.
Now the group has find a way to contact Zane to hopefully relieve the curse. Luckily, the village had gotten a message while they were away of Zane being like, "return Garroth or I will bring an army down myself" and everyone is like shiiiiii-
Aphmau basically decides though, for that day to let Malachi get settled in and Levin to meet him. All the sweet family stuff that Aphmau gets into with her two boys.
Katelyn and KC had taken care of Phoenix Drop splendidly, proving to Garroth, Laurance, and Aphmau that they were to be trusted fully.
I want a moment where Garroth and Laurance basically declare a her an official guard, even offering Dante a position permanently. So now, we got four guards! Katelyn even had an extra uniform made just in case that fit Dante. Or...something like that.
Lucinda and Zoey are able to contain the magic with the spell they found in the castle ruins but, everyone knows it won't be long before something happens. So, Garroth, Laurance, Dante, and Katelyn all decide to prepare for the worst, gathering supplies for every possible event. They also start building the wall and the docks. Also with this preluding war, Garroth suggests that they need to consider reaching out to their alliances to help. Aphmau is more than welcome to do that but, she can tell this whole situation is really beating Garroth up. But there's not much time to dwell on that. She sends messages to Nicole and Cadenza, hoping that they could help. She also sends one to Brightport in hopes they would return some of the favors she had racked up.
During the next few episodes, the audience will see a few different things happening. Firstly, Garroth, Laurance, Dante, and Katelyn I want to all start forming somewhat of a sibling bond, Aphmau being apart of it as well but more like a parent in some ways. This helps towards Dante's goal of finding family. We can possibly do this through training scenes, dinner scenes, and when they're preparing for everything that's to come. They really start to form a brotherhood, that yes, Katelyn is apart of and is just thankful to finally be accepted into this environment and taken seriously. So, yeah, cute fluffy stuff is necessary.
Secondly, I want Aphmau to finally have some confidence in herself. She soon realizes that the people of Phoenix Drop trust her for a reason and this is further proven by the fact that Nicole's father, Cadenza and the Lord of Brightport all agree to assist Aphmau in this threat from O'Khasis. Really just show the audience that she's now comfortable in her role as Lord before it all goes downhill-I mean, what?
Lastly, as I have explained, Garmau. Aphmau and Garroth are courting one another throughout this time, having sweet moments. I like to think of it as a teenager's first romance. They're both extremely shy and awkward whenever they bring up their relationship or when one is a bit more confident. Mostly, they act like the couple who are more best friends than anything, joking around with each other and being their support system. But...they kiss and hold hands. I don't have many scenes in mind but, I like the idea of one instance where Garroth and Aphmau are doing they're usual thing where one of them is too nervous to do anything and Laurance just shouts at them from across the room to just do something because it's taking forever.
But, one thing that I want to happen is that, during a discussion with Zoey, the elf suggests that maybe Aphmau should consider marrying Garroth as a way to force him here. This could reference the time in the first original season where the two of them did fake that they were married to Zane so Garroth has a reason to stay in Phoenix Drop. But, Garroth immediately tears down that idea, saying that marriage should not be thrown in as a solution and instead come naturally. This upsets Aphmau, her seeing it as him not wanting to marry her someday, especially since Donna and Logan, the villagers who got married the prior season, got married after courting each other for only a few months. Please note that this is her only exposure to romance and a relationship besides her own, so she was kind of expecting something like marriage to be in the picture eventually.
She like makes a scene and storms out or something, Garroth excusing himself to go after her. Once he does find her, it's at the dock and she's just sitting there at the end, thinking to herself or something. When he goes up to her, she apologizes and all that, saying that he was probably smart for thinking it wasn't the best idea. He stops her, sitting next to her, and clarifies that all he said is that it shouldn't be seen as a way to prevent a war but, something they both want to do when the time comes. Especially since his first engagement was to prevent a war and that didn't end well. She asks him if he sees them going down that root and I want him to say something really cheesy like, he did from the moment she proved to him that she was special, or whatever. He then asks her the same and she shrugs and says, why do you think I got upset? The two are kind of just sitting there, silently, processing what they both just said to one another. Garroth is the first to realize it and excuses himself to go take care of something, after giving her a quick kiss on her hand. She is still there, lost and confuse, before it hits her as well and she gets all giddy about it. High school romance.
Anyway, back to the main plot, Zane sends another message warning that if his brother is not returned to him in two weeks, he will attack Phoenix Drop. This puts urgency into our main cast. Laurance rides to Meteli to tell her of the incoming battle, as Dante rides to Scaleswind, Katelyn sailing to Brightport. Aphmau also has to make the difficult choice, especially at this point as she has grown to love both of the boys, to send Levin and Malachi away with Zoey. Even Zoey is finding this decision hard as she wants to stay and help but, knows that this is what she can do. So, bye those three until later. Garroth, while the three are away, start training any villager who has volunteered to help. Nana/Kawaii-Chan also trains others first aid if needed. Other children with at least one parent are also sent away, the village becoming almost barren once again like before. But, Aphmau isn't fearful any longer, as she knows that this is only temporary.
Garroth and Aphmau, due to others being away minus Nana/KC, finally have an opportunity to have a serious conversation of what the best way to go about this was. Garroth offers one last time to give himself up but, based on Aphmau's reaction, it's thrown out the window. But Garroth has his own plan...
Anyways, they come up with a battle strategy instead, accounting for the size of troops offered to them and what they had in Phoenix Drop. Finally, once business was taken care of, Garroth pulls Aphmau aside to somewhere a bit more romantic. THE TREE MOTHERF-
Yeah, I added the tree. Cause I'm a sucker for the OG Garmau shipping stuff so, can you blame me? Also we won't have the dream tree...YOU DIDN'T HEAR THAT!
I see this scene going down like this. Garroth takes out a ring, making Aphmau go wide eyed, immediately asking a billion questions. He calms her down and says, that this isn't a proposal of marriage but a promise. A promise to always be by her side, helping and supporting the way she needed. And if marriage is part of the picture in the future, he'd have no complaints. She accepts the ring, it fitting perfectly and he shows her that he has a matching one as well under his glove. I also want them to say that they love each other for the first time, they kiss and it's super romantic and stuff like that.
So...this is the climax of the Garmau relationship. So, prepare yourselves for the downfall. I'm sorry. It hurts me too. God this is already so long...maybe stop her but make part 4.5 just for the climax of season 2...
yeah, let's do that.
THANKS FOR READING! Love you all! See you in like a couple of hours...
