If I wrote MCD (Part 1)

It's been over an year since Jess started the MCD rewrite and it's been since September 2019 that it went on "hiatus". Now...this isn't a diss towards Jess. I think it's just a smart idea to leave this story and let it go. Move on to bigger and greater things....

SO THAT THE FANFICTION WRITERS CAN WRITE THEIR OWN ENDINGS!

I did this in my Immortality Series but, that was just wrapping things up. I started the prequel right when the original series was said to be on "hiatus" thinking it would come back. Now...I kind of consider it the ending. It's trash...but at least it's something. (It's called Diamonds if you are interested). With that story I had to only use what was set up by the series at that point and not change anything that happened previously. But, now I really want to rewrite the whole thing. Like come up with new lore and class rankings...maybe throw in historical accuracy for those who enjoy that. That's a lot of work though...

I can make an outline though! So here we go!

Season 1:

So, I basically want the majority of this to stay the same. I want Aphmau as a normal human being as well as everyone else. That way, the audience can relate to them easily and connect to characters before we get into the magic stuff. I think I'll keep the werewolves for sure because, I have an idea I'll get into later.

Aphmau --> A genuinely good-hearted person who just wants to make people feel happy and safe. She becomes the lord of Phoenix Drop when the whole village sees that she could fill the shoes very well. Her flaw, I think, I want to highlight more. I don't remember her flaw from before...maybe it was just forgettable since it wasn't featured that much. I sort've want her to be a perfectionist. I'm a perfectionist myself. I want her her work and relationships, including friendships, to be her drive and when they may go south, she'll have a hard time accepting that.

Garroth --> We are introduced to him as "Rowan" and still wears the iconic helmet. As I got older, I realized how dumb it was for Garroth to keep going by his real name when we first met him. He was trying to hide his identity and by keeping his name, that's one step closer to have people figure him out. So, we are changing his name temporarily. He has the same protective and chivalrous personality that we are all familiar with but, he still has the same flaw. I think the best way I can describe his flaw is...sensitive or stubborn...idk. I want it to directly be an effect of him being raised as a future lord. He has a hard time understanding/trusting people since he was forced to be separated by them growing up because of his father.

Zenix --> Keeping him the same, basically. I think there shouldn't be that many changes towards villains in general. I think Jess does an amazing job with them!

Zoey --> I am also keeping her the same as well as making her more a guide for Aphmau for the first couple of episodes. She tells her of Phoenix Drop's past, Ru'an history, and her role as Lord.

Emmalyn --> Keeping the same.

Villagers —> So this includes people like Donna, Brendan, Molly, Dale, etc. I really don't see the point of having them besides maybe as motivation for Aphmau to keep the village safe. I want the Donna and Logan wedding and since Phoenix Drop is so small in the beginning, I believe it's still reasonable for her to be invited as well as Garroth.

The first few episodes (1-3) will be Aphmau is led to the village by Vylad (even though we don't know it's him yet) and meets everyone. She, seeing how bad of shape they are in, volunteers to help repair. "Rowan" is shocked and moved by her sense of urgency to help others. She will know about the lord position at this time but, isn't offered it yet. She has some quarrels with Emmalyn and Zenix, receives assistance from many in the village, and gets to know "Rowan" and Zoey more. By the end of the third episode, I want these three to be building a small friendship. Aphmau isn't close to them yet but, believes that she will have to lean on them more in the future.

Episodes 4-8, Aphmau is offered the position of Lord. The way she is offered it is different though. Zoey, "Rowan", and Zenix all tell her that they think she will be a good fit for the job. Aphmau accepts and notices that "Rowan" is getting glares from Zoey. By the next episode though, she is thrown into her first quest. Levin. Since Levin is a baby, I don't want to get into his character at this moment. "Rowan" explains this is the child of the previous Lord and fears that maybe this means that whoever attacked the family in the first place now knows that Aphmau holds the position. He offers to go look for the parents of Levin but, Aphmau insists she goes since she was the Lord afterall. "Rowan" tries to reason with her that it's not a Lord's job to go out on quests but, Aphmau says an line that I want to stick; "Well, things are a going to be different now." This only increases "Rowan's" feelings for her. Aphmau leaves Phoenix Drop, arriving in Brightport, meeting the werewolf tribe. She then goes to Meteli and meets our favorite redhead siblings.

Laurance --> Still a massive flirt when the audience first meets him. Yet, is quick to assist Aphmau once he learns of her quest. I want him to still be this very charismatic guy who is really caring and generous. He fits the role of head guard "perfectly". I want his flaw to be (for right now) that he is sometimes distracted which leads to him sometimes performing poorly at his job. Yet, he is still very skilled in swordsmanship. I want his backstory to stay the same as well.

Cadenza --> I want her to instantly show the signs of a strong and powerful leader. I actually want to set up a new type of relationship between Aphmau and her. I want her to be a role model in Aphmau's eyes. She has great wits, is extremely outgoing, and knows how to stand her ground. She isn't Lord yet but, is training to be one. She will always seem to come in at Aphmau's low moments to offer her some advice. Idk if I want to include the fashionista part...maybe as a hobby still.

Laurance offers to take Aphmau to Scaleswind where she meets Nicole (keeping her the same) and learns more about this "Saint Irene". Laurance sticks with her throughout the rest of the quest and suggests from time to time that she should hire more guards, suggesting that he should come and help. Aphmau doesn't trust Laurance fully yet but, tells him she will think about it. Their next stop is O'Khasis. I want this place to have a significantly different tone than the other places she visited. This one is more dark and tense. They find Levin's Mom, who is not rescued but, gives her blessing to raise Levin in Phoenix Drop. Disappointed, the two rush out but, not before Laurance has to defend Aphmau from some guards to escape.

This is the first scene where we see Aphmau's flaw shine through. She breaks down, failing at her quest. Thankfully, Laurance is there to comfort her and bring her back home on his Wyren.

This brings us episodes 9-10. When they arrive at Phoenix Drop, it only gets worse. Zenix had attacked the village and burned specifically the library down. "Rowan" was able to protect the villagers but since he wasn't prepared to fight his close friend of five years, he wasn't able to save the structures. Zoey and Levin are safe and sound, relieving Aphmau. "Rowan" is hurt though, not enough to go and find a healer or anything. Just some burns and other injuries that put him on the side lines.

I also want this scene to be the reveal of his face. Since he wore the helmet while fighting Zenix, he isn't injured there (I mean, thank Irene am I right?) but, his helmet is broken. Aphmau is shocked again to see that he is so young since he speaks and acts older than most people his age. This is another instance too where she feels guilty because she wasn't there to help her friend. This is also the first time "Rowan" says it's his "duty as a guard". It's a bonding moment for the two and is the first scene where I want to show some romantic chemistry but, not a lot. There is still a level of uncertainty from "Rowan" because he doesn't know Aphmau through and through yet. Same with Aphmau. She sees "Rowan" as a friend but, one with barriers that she can't quite break.

After visiting "Rowan", Aphmau goes straight to work in rebuilding Phoenix Drop and takes it as a positive saying it could be a time to improve upon it. Zoey is pleased to see her so happy after the stress she's faced the past couple of days. Laurance decided to ride back to Meteli to ask Cadenza if she has any supplies to spare, coming back with great news that she sent a whole team over to help.

Meteli and Phoenix Drop are going to be allies from this point on. It's not called the Phoenix Drop Alliance yet but, it's a relationship that comes in handy.

During this time though, Aphmau is starting to think about O'Khasis and their role in all of this. Why did they have Levin's mom in the first place? She also starts to delve herself more into a motherly role for Levin since she now sees him as her responsibility. This ultimately leads her to adopt Levin by the end of episode 10.

Episodes 11-13 is where we finally get into the juice of it all. "Rowan" is off of bedrest and meets Laurance. They two immediately have this tense relationship when first meeting, "Rowan" not trusting Laurance fully while Laurance just sees "Rowan" as some arrogant guard that looks down at him. We also start to see Laurance openly flirting with Aphmau, setting off "Rowan" saying that it's rude to do that since he's used to the "courting" way of doing things. Aphmau just laughs it off. The audience will start to see the love triangle start to form, even if "Rowan" and Aphmau don't see it yet. We also get to see Laurance flaw start to show. I personally see a scene where he almost is crushed by falling equipment while flirting with Aphmau or showing off. Comedic but, effective.

Okay, now the Shadow Knights. I want there to be a "disturbance" in a way. Zoey at this point is the only magic dealer they have so she feels s uncomfortable power growing. It only gets worst as time goes on. To the point where she starts getting some nightmares about it, making Aphmau concern. She asks where this "disturbance" is and Zoey claims she doesn't know. As if on cue, Aphmau gets a message from Brightport saying that the werewolf tribe is concerning the villagers. Confused as to why she got the message, she goes off on a small quest. Again, against "Rowan's" wishes. This causes them to have a small argument, leaving them strained as she goes off with Laurance.

He says that he wants to go with her one last time before departing back to Meteli to help his sister again with Head Guard duties. Aphmau agrees and they set off with Ungruth (idk how to spell the name) to the werewolf tribe. The king of the tribe says that they didn't do anything but, there's a cave in their village that now holds a portal of some kind.
This is where Laurance's knightly side  kicks in and he advices Aphmau to not go in, saying they should wait for more people. Aphmau though is drawn to it, feeling familiar to her. The two go in and find the Shadow Knights. While sneaking around, they see that Zenix is there, serving the cause. We also get the first mention of Shad yet, we don't know who that is exactly. They then go off to find this Shad to see if he poses a threat. Instead, once they reach the throne room where they are undetected, an invisible force pulls them out, demanding why they are there. It's the spirit of Shad and because he's still too weak, Laurance and Aphmau are able to get a running start to escape. Laurance is shown to have great swords skills and as Aphmau steals a sword, she obviously has some skill too even though the two can't explain why. Aphmau escapes, leaving  Laurance behind.

Now...I think I'm going to end this here for now. This is just part one. I originally wanted to get season 1 done here but, I feel as though it would be another two thousand words just to get to the halfway mark. So, let me know if you guys want a part 2 of season 1!

Love you my foxes! Treat people sweet!
