Escalators
I mentioned in my last chapter that I have a huge fear of escalators. Let me explain.
You know the movie Elf? Yeah?
Well, the scene where he did the splits on the escalator...imagine a blonde 4th grader doing that in a museum in front of three different schools on a field trip.
Yeah. I'm scarred for life by that experience. The worst part about it is that I told my leader that I would rather go down the normal stairs but, she turned me down and forced me to try. Like, hunny. Your not in charge of me and who's going to grab me? Another parent? Like, the normal stairs were right next to the escalator. If I got grabbed, you would've seen it and done something, right? Or were you just too lazy?
The worst part about it was that I was going down the escalator. So, I felt as if I was going to fall in the first place. I think this also triggered my fear of steep angles.
Don't ask. My parents don't even know of that one.
Anyways, I was nine or ten when that happened and now, I'm fifteen. I still have the freaking phobia thanks to that Mom volunteer!
I literally went into a two floor Macy's and had a panic attack when my Mom told me that she wasn't going to walk to the elevator with me! She literally had to drag me into the escalator while I cried and started to hyperventilate!
To be honest, I'm glad I don't take escalators. Do you know how many people have died because of them? Hold on...
*googles 'how many people have died on a escalator?'*
THAT IS TOO MANY DEATHS AND INJURIES FOR MOVING STAIRS!!! (And a floating box)
All in all, it just proves how many people are too lazy to take stairs. I get, it helps people who have disabilities...
That's what an elevator is for people. Literally the same thing but, a box.
I understand a lot of people have a fear over those as well but, man, can I just say I have a serious phobia of escalators without them staring at me like I'm insane and debating with me as to why they are safer?! They are both dangerous but, if were to making something like that so people with movement disabilities could get to a floor without a problem, I feel as if a elevator would be a better option. It holds a wheelchair and you can have multiple in a certain area to help instead of ugly, black, moving stairs right in the middle of your store.
The main lesson is, if you have legs that God gave you (and you can use them), take the stairs.
