The kiss
Y/N's P.O.V
I stood on the dancefloor of the club, swinging my hips to the music and drunk out of my mind as I danced with some random guy. I looked up and my eyes widened slightly as I wasn't dancing with Tom like I thought I had been.
"You're not Tom." I spoke, slurring my words slightly.
"Who's Tom?" the guy replied.
"I am." Suddenly, a hand landed on my waist and Tom started to gently lead me through the crowd.
"He wasn't Tom, but you are." I nodded, wiggling my finger in Tom's face and making him chuckle.
"That's right, darling. Now, we're going to go home, okay?" he nodded, looking at me gently.
"I don't want to go, I want to stay and dance with you." I pouted, Tom's hands on my waist keeping me from falling in my state.
"I know, but Haz and I have talked, and we think that you're too drunk now for us being out to be safe, so the three of us are going to go back to mine." He explained. I whined again, making Tom chuckle as he gently took my waist again and pulled me out of the club, making the cold air hit my barely covered body. Harrison looked up from his phone and chuckled as he saw us.
"Jesus, she is in a state, isn't she?" he teased as he slid his phone back into his trouser pocket.
"Don't talk about me like I'm not here. And you could have left me, I can take care of myself." I huffed as the three of us started to walk away from the club, Tom still holding onto my waist to support me.
"We know, you've kicked us both in the balls enough times for us to be well aware that you can take care of yourself." Harrison chuckled.
"But funnily enough, we didn't want to leave you alone, very drunk, in a club full of strangers, with no way to get home. We care about you too much to do that." Tom nodded.
"Aww, you care about me?!" I squealed as I jumped in front of Tom, making him stop in his tracks as I was now stood right in front of him, my hands on his shoulders and his hands on my waist.
"Yes, Y/N, I care about you. A lot." He chuckled, subtly looking at my lips before returning his gaze to my eyes.
"Aww." I giggled before starting to run back to the club.
"Wait, Y/N, come back!" Harrison yelled as Tom ran after me. I squealed and laughed as Tom's arms wrapped around my waist from behind and he picked me up before starting to carry me back.
"I want to dance with Tom!" I laughed drunkenly as I squirmed out of his grip again.
"Jesus, grab her, Haz." Tom sighed.
"Yup." He nodded, making me laugh as I ran straight into his arms.
"There's got to be an easier way to do this." Harrison sighed.
"I've got one, let her go." Tom nodded. Harrison returned it before letting me go. I giggled again before running back to Tom. At the last second, he crouched down so that I ran into his shoulder. He stood up, grabbing my legs as he went and making me squeal as he threw me over his shoulder.
"Nice one, Tom. You okay there, Y/N?" Harrison checked.
"This is so fun!" I laughed, kicking my legs out slightly but not enough to hit Tom in the face as I rested my hands against his back.
"She's fine." Tom chuckled, making me smile to myself as my eyes fluttered shut.
Tom's P.O.V
Tom and Harrison walked along the street, Y/N asleep over Tom's shoulder as they walked.
"So, how come you and Hannah broke up?" Harrison asked. Tom shrugged and looked down.
"I told you, we just drifted apart." He mumbled.
"I know that that's what you told me, but I want to know the truth." Harrison replied. Tom looked at him.
"What?" he scoffed.
"You guys were together for two years, I know that she was used to the distance." He shrugged.
"Six months is also a long time, Haz." Tom scoffed. Harrison looked at him sceptically, making Tom sigh.
"Is Y/N still asleep?" he asked, nodding to the girl that was over his shoulder. Harrison looked at her and nodded.
"Out like a light." He replied. Tom sighed and looked down.
"I'm not entirely sure what happened. But one day, I called her, and she said that she was ending it. She said that she knew that I was in love with someone else." He admitted. Harrison's eyes widened.
"She said that you were in love with Y/N." he stated. Tom sighed and nodded.
"Yes, she did. I tried to deny it, but no matter what I said, she wouldn't listen. She said that she wasn't convinced, so that was that." He shrugged.
"Not entirely. Are you in love with Y/N?" Harrison asked. Tom's eyes widened and he looked at his best mate.
"What kind of a question is that?" he scoffed.
"A pretty simple one." Harrison returned. Tom groaned slightly and shook his head.
"I don't know, Haz. If I'm being honest, I only started to re-evaluate my feelings towards Y/N because Hannah broke up with me over them. I've only been thinking about them for a couple of weeks, that's not enough time to decide if I'm in love with her." He mumbled.
"It is if you've been in love with her for years." Harrison returned. Tom looked at him and sighed, not wanting to admit that his best mate was right.
Y/N's P.O.V
My eyes slowly fluttered open and I groaned as my head pounded, alcohol still flowing through it. I looked around and my eyes widened as I was over someone's shoulder and was in someone's apartment.
"What the fuck?" I gulped, pushing the body that I was slung over to try and get out of their grip.
"Hey, hey, it's okay, Y/N, it's me." The body put me down and I sighed in relief as I was greeted by the beautiful sight of Tom's face.
"God, don't do that to me, I thought that I'd been abducted or something." I gulped, resting my forehead on his chest as he chuckled.
"Quite the opposite, we saved you from getting even more black-out drunk at the club. And now, it's time for bed." He nodded as he gently took my hand and led me into my bedroom.
"I don't wanna." I whined, my head still numb from the alcohol.
"Well, I'm afraid you gotta." Tom chuckled, curling his arms around my waist.
"Don't tease me." I pouted, though still resting my hands against his chest.
"Sorry, darling." He spoke gently. I gulped as he looked down at my lips, giving me a small smile as he did.
"I tell you what, Holland. If you stay with me tonight, I'll go to sleep." I nodded. Tom sighed as if he was contemplating it, but I knew that he would say yes. After all, we'd been sleeping in the same bed at sleepovers since we were kids.
"I don't know, babe, it's late and we always end up talking for hours when we sleep together-."
"Then I'm not going to bed." I huffed as I angrily crossed my arms over my chest, making Tom smirk.
"God, you're such a child when you're drunk, it's hilarious. Fine, I'll stay." He nodded. I smiled and pressed a kiss to his cheek, making his eyes widen slightly as I left his arms. I peeled my dress off, leaving me in my underwear as I crawled onto the bed. Tom pulled his dress shirt off, leaving him in his jeans as he also pulled his belt off. I couldn't help but stare as he did. Ever since we were little, Tom had been a skinny kid, and he transformed from the skinny kid to the muscular and fit guy that he now was once he got cast for Spiderman. And I loved it. The way that his biceps popped when he did simple tasks or the way his chest tensed when he worked out always made me feel dizzy.
"Like what you see, darling?" Tom smirked as he crawled into bed next to me.
"I'm too drunk to deal with you being mean." I pouted, making him chuckle as he curled his arm around my waist, bringing me closer as he turned the bedside lamp off. We just lay there for what felt like hours, in comfortable silence as we just looked at each other, taking in each other's features in the dark. I raised my hand and gently placed it against Tom's cheek, making him immediately lean into my touch. My fingertips danced up his face, his eyelids fluttering shut as I traced over them before tracing down his crooked nose, a result of so many breakages. Yet it still looked perfect. Finally, my fingers danced to his lips, him pressing them together as I traced over the thin slivers of skin, the lips that I had wanted to kiss for so long. I looked at Tom and my heart leapt as he just stared at me contently, a small smile on his face. Alcohol still coursed through my veins, not letting the idea reach my brain and be told that it was a bad one as I leant in. Tom's eyes widened as I pressed our lips together softly, holding his face. Almost immediately he returned it, his hand on my waist pulling me closer as he returned the kiss. My eyes fluttered shut, my heart almost stopping as this is what I had wanted for as long as I could remember. And it was perfect. Tom's lips were warm against mine, his thin ones contrasting to my slightly plump ones. Tom leant forward, gently pushing me down onto the bed as he hovered over me, not once breaking the kiss as he began to run his hand gently up and down my leg, holding it against his waist. Suddenly, his eyes shot open.
"Wait, wait." He gulped as he broke the kiss and looked down at me.
"What?" I whispered, placing a hand on his bare chest. He looked at me, panic laced into his stunning doe eyes.
"Are you still drunk? Like, properly drunk, not tipsy?" he mumbled. I looked at him.
"I mean...I guess, but I know what I'm doing." I muttered. Tom sighed, looking down before rolling off of me.
"Sure you do, Y/N." he nodded. I gulped, my heart breaking slightly as I rolled onto my side so that my back was facing Tom. My heart leapt but didn't quite fix as I felt Tom's arm around my waist again, his chest pressed to my back.
"Goodnight, darling." He mumbled into my ear.
"Goodnight, Tom." I returned, a tear slipping down my face as my eyes fluttered shut.
Tom's P.O.V
Tom's eyes widened as Y/N leant in and pressed their lips together softly, holding his face. Almost immediately he returned it, his hand on her waist pulling her closer as he returned the kiss. His eyes fluttered shut, his heart almost thumping through his chest, as this is what he had wanted for as long as he could remember. And it was perfect. Y/N's lips were soft against his, his thin ones contrasting to her slightly plump ones. He leant forward, gently pushing her down onto the bed as he hovered over her perfect little body, not once breaking the kiss as he began to run his hand gently up and down her leg, holding it against his waist. Suddenly, his eyes shot open.
"Wait, wait." He gulped as he broke the kiss and looked down at her.
"What?" Y/N whispered, placing a hand on his bare chest. He looked at her, panic starting to fill his body as he realised something. The girl that he was in love with may only have been kissing him because she was very drunk, not to mention the obvious issue of that she couldn't consent if she was still intoxicated.
"Are you still drunk? Like, properly drunk, not tipsy?" he mumbled. She looked at him.
"I mean...I guess, but I know what I'm doing." She muttered. Tom sighed, looking down before rolling off of her and landing on the bed next to her, his heart breaking slightly.
"Sure you do, Y/N." he nodded. Y/N gulped as she rolled onto her side so that her back was facing Tom. He sighed to himself, trying to ignore the empty feeling in his chest as he wrapped his arm around her waist again, his chest pressed to her back.
"Goodnight, darling." He mumbled softly into her ear.
"Goodnight, Tom." She returned before her body went slightly limp, telling Tom that she was asleep. He sighed, looking at the beautiful woman that was asleep next to him. Under any other circumstances, he would have been thrilled that Y/N had kissed him, but since she was practically too drunk to walk, he couldn't tell if they had kissed because she felt the same, or because she was so intoxicated. Fuck, Tom wanted it to be the first option so badly. But something in the scenario made him doubt that it was. He sighed again, slightly tightening his grip on Y/N's waist as he let his eyes flutter shut and he floated into the gentle grasp of sleep.
