Sam's party
Tom, Harrison and I walked to Sam's apartment, on our way to his party.
"Where are we meeting Caleb?" Harrison asked, Tom's jaw clenching at the sound of my boyfriend's name.
"His shift ended at ten, so he just said that he'd meet us there." I shrugged before looking at Tom.
"You okay, Tommy? You've been acting kind of weird this afternoon." I chuckled. His eyes widened slightly.
"Um, yeah, I'm fine." He nodded. I returned it, my worry melting away as he curled his arm around my waist as we walked, pulling me into his side. I smiled at the action as we walked into Sam's apartment building and headed into the lift, the space taking us up to the floor that Sam lived on. We got to his door and knocked. A moment later, it opened to reveal Sam, the sound of pumping music already flowing from the apartment.
"Hey, guys, I'm glad you made it." He smiled as he hugged me and then Harrison.
"We've got a surprise for you." I returned, making the boy's eyebrows furrow.
"Yeah?" he chuckled. I nodded and bit my lip as I pulled Tom into Sam's view. His eyes widened.
"Tom?! What the hell are you doing here?!" he laughed, pulling his brother into a tight hug.
"I came back to see Y/N and Haz for a week, and since you invited them here, I figured I'd come and surprise you." He smiled.
"I'm not the only one who you'll surprise, Harry and Paddy are here too." Sam nodded as the three of us walked into the already full apartment, Harrison shutting the door behind us.
"Mum let you invite Paddy?" Tom scoffed, raising an eyebrow in disbelief.
"Yeah, she figured that Paddy would be missing out since I invited Harry, and obviously you're here now too. Don't worry, though, Harry and I are making sure that he's only drinking coke." He reassured, making Tom chuckle and shake his head before turning to us.
"I'm going to go find Harry and Paddy, you guys alright by yourselves for a while?" Tom asked.
"Mate, we're friends with everyone here." Harrison scoffed. Tom chuckled and nodded, gently kissing my head and making me smile as he disappeared off into the crowd in search of his brothers. Suddenly, my waist was taken, and I was turned around, making my eyes widen as the perpetrator smashed our lips together. I sunk into it and returned it as I realised that it was just Caleb, making me hold his face.
"Alright, break it up, I'm still here, you know." I heard Harrison sigh. I broke the kiss and gave him an apologetic smile, putting my hand on his chest as I looked at Caleb.
"I didn't think that you'd arrive for another half an hour." I spoke.
"Yeah, well, I hurried over, I wanted to see my girl." He smirked, making me jump slightly as he leant down and squeezed my ass.
"Mate, I don't want to see my best friend groped." Harrison spoke, clenching his jaw at Caleb.
"She's my girlfriend." Caleb scoffed.
"Anyway, let me introduce you to my other best friend, Tom." I smiled, trying to ease the tension between the males as I took Caleb's hand.
"Great, another possessive guy best friend." Caleb mumbled, making both Harrison and I roll our eyes as I pulled Caleb through Sam's apartment in search of Tom. My eyes brightened as I pushed my way into the kitchen, where all four Holland boys were stood talking.
"There you boys are." I chuckled, making them look at me.
"Y/N, haven't seen you in ages, how you doing?" Harry smiled as he hugged me.
"Not too bad, good to see this one again." I spoke, poking Tom's chest and making him chuckle as I looked at Paddy.
"How you doing, little man?" I smiled, ruffling his slightly ginger hair.
"I'm alright, glad I'm finally old enough to be at these parties." He returned before looking at Caleb.
"Who's this?" he asked.
"Ah, boys, I'd like you to meet Caleb, my boyfriend." I smiled, looking between the four of them and Caleb.
"Which one of you is the best friend that she won't stop banging on about?" he scoffed, a slight spit in his voice. Tom clenched his jaw, visibly trying to control himself as his brothers and Harrison all looked at him, eyebrows raised.
"Hi, I'm Tom." He spoke, forcing a smile as he held out his hand. Caleb shook it reluctantly, making me sigh.
"I'm going to go dance, you coming?" Caleb asked.
"In a minute, I want a drink." I nodded.
"Don't be too long." He smirked, making me jump again as he squeezed my ass harshly and leant down to kiss my neck. My eyes widened, as did the boys' as Harry quickly covered Paddy's eyes with his hand.
"Caleb, get off." I scoffed, pushing him away by his chest.
"God, prude much?" he returned, smirking at the boys but receiving only stern looks in return as he left the kitchen and disappeared into the crowd. I gulped and looked at the boys.
"Wow. He is definitely more of an arse than I remember." Harry scoffed, Sam nodding in agreement.
"I thought that you were friends." Harrison returned.
"He works with my girlfriend, she invited him to my party last time." He nodded.
"You okay, Y/N?" Tom asked, looking at me with a concerned look in his eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine, I just wish that he'd stop doing stuff like that in public." I sighed.
"You asked him not to?" Sam asked.
"Several times." I nodded.
"You want us to crack some heads, Y/N?" Harry nodded, cracking his knuckles in his hands. I laughed and shook my head, smiling as Tom looked at me and playfully rolled his eyes at his brother.
"Thank you for the offer, my Holland boys, but I'm good. He just gets a little...handsy...at times." I nodded.
"Let us know if you want us to do anything, yeah?" Tom asked, walking to me and gently putting his hands on my waist. I bit my lip, greatly appreciating how gentle and soft Tom's intimate touch was compared to Caleb's.
"Yeah, you know we'd do anything for you." Sam reiterated.
"Thanks, boys, I do appreciate it." I smiled, making them return it.
"I, um, better go find Caleb again, so I'll see you guys in a bit." I nodded, giving them all one last small smile and reluctantly moving out of Tom's grip as I disappeared into the crowd.
Tom's P.O.V
Tom sighed as Y/N disappeared into the crowd in search of Caleb, leaving him, his brothers and Harrison in the kitchen.
"Well, that was a great first impression." Sam scoffed, making Tom clench his jaw and shake his head as he leant against the counter.
"I'm going to kill him, I swear to god. How dare he treat Y/N like his own personal-."
"Be careful what you say next, mum won't be happy if you say what you're about to in front of him." Harry warned, nodding his head towards Paddy.
"I'm sixteen." The boy scoffed.
"I just can't believe that she's dating him. What does she see in him?" Tom spat slightly. The others looked at each other.
"Tom, are you so angry because Y/N is your best friend, or because you want her to be more than that to you?" Sam asked. Tom's eyes widened and he looked at Harrison.
"What have you said to them?" he scoffed.
"Mate, I know that we're best friends, but if I noticed your massive crush, then your brothers are definitely going to have noticed it." Harrison nodded, making Tom groan and rub his hands over his face.
"This could have been avoided if you admitted your feelings earlier." Harry shrugged.
"Hold on, I get enough of that from him, I don't need it from you two as well." Tom sighed, gesturing between the twins with his finger.
"We're just saying. We love you, mate, and we love Y/N, we want to see you two happy." Sam nodded. Tom sighed again, giving his brothers a small thanking smile before looking around the kitchen.
"I don't suppose you have any whiskey, do you?" he mumbled, knowing that he'd have to get slightly drunk in order to deal with the asshole that was dating the girl that he loved.
Y/N's P.O.V
I walked around Sam's apartment, smiling and waving at people as they saw me. I forced a smile onto my lips as I spotted Caleb sat on one of the sofas, looking down at his phone.
"Hey, babe." I smiled as I sat on his lap, making him roll his eyes as he continued to look at his phone.
"I see that you decided to leave your best friend in the whole world to honour your boyfriend with your presence." He mumbled. My eyebrows furrowed and I looked at him.
"What?" I scoffed.
"Cut the bullshit, Y/N, I know that you'd rather be in the kitchen with Tom than here with me." He spat. My eyes widened.
"You know what? Fuck this. I'm out of here." He scoffed, making me yelp slightly as he harshly pushed me off of his lap, me just about landing on my feet as he stood up.
"Caleb, wait." I gulped, regaining my posture and rushing after him through the crowd. I sighed as I rushed out of Sam's front door, gulping as he was already halfway down the hallway.
"Caleb, we need to talk about this!" I exclaimed.
"Alright, how about we talk about the fact that you're in love with your best friend?!" he spat as he turned around to look at me. My eyes widened, but my heart dropped as I knew that what he was saying was true.
"I-I don't know what you're talking about-."
"You know exactly what I'm talking about, Y/N. I saw the way that you looked at him, not to mention the way he looked at you. It was so clear why you tensed up when I touched you." He snapped.
"Maybe I tensed up because I didn't want you squeezing my arse in front of my best friends and a family that I've known since birth." I spat back.
"Yeah, turn it on me like you always do. I'm going home, and I suggest that you go back into the party. Maybe even dance with Tom, you already act like you want him instead of me, may as well dance with him too." He nodded before walking off. I sighed, looking down and gulping as I headed back into Sam's apartment. Tom spotted me as I walked in and shut the door, his eyebrows knotted in worry as he pushed his way through the crowd towards me.
"Hey." I looked up and gave him a small smile.
"You okay, babe?" he asked as he gently took my face in his hands. I gulped and looked down.
"U-um...yeah, I'm fine, it's just that Caleb and I had a fight, and he left." I mumbled. Tom's face softened.
"Oh, I'm sorry about that. I was going to ask you to dance, but I guess that it's not really the right time." He gulped. I looked at him.
"You know what, Tom? It's the perfect time." I nodded as I smiled. Tom returned it, gently kissing my head as he took my hand and pulled me into the crowd. A slow song came on as Tom turned to face me, his arms curling around my waist as he pulled me into his body. I looped my arms over his shoulders, making him smile at me as he touched our foreheads.
"I'm sorry about Caleb." He spoke, looking into my eyes. I shook my head and looked at him.
"I don't want to talk about him, Tommy. I just want to be here with you." I nodded. He gave me a small smile and returned the nod before joining our foreheads again, making me close my eyes as I let him sway us to the music. Dancing like this made me start to think about what Caleb had said, Tom's hands gently resting on my waist reminding me of how much gentler he was than Caleb. And I loved it. I opened my eyes and separated our foreheads, pushing Tom's head down slightly so that I could rest my head on his shoulder. He happily complied, burying his face in my neck as we continued to sway. This moment was perfect. I was in the arms of the boy that I loved, both us contempt in each other's holds, with me ready to kiss him at any given moment. Yet I couldn't. I gulped, Caleb's words racing through my head. What was I doing with him? The more I thought about it, the less I had an answer. I sighed, finally fully accepting that I was with the wrong guy. The guy that I was meant to be with was standing right in front of me, with his head in my neck and his arms lovingly holding me. I still had one big unanswered question, though: did he feel the same? I wasn't going to act until I knew that for sure. I closed my eyes again, ridding myself of the thoughts and just allowing myself to be with Tom as I sunk further into his body and let his arms engulf me, making me feel like I was home.
