Broken
"Last night, Tom Holland's best friend, Y/N Y/L/N, was spotted out on the town around London, getting drunk and having the time of her life." The MTV news blared on the TV as Tom sat on his sofa, watching it. He clenched his jaw and ran his hands through his hair, unsure of what to do about the situation.
"We've got a problem." Tom looked up and sighed as his front door opened and Harrison walked in.
"Which is?" he asked. Harrison sighed and tossed five magazines onto the glass coffee table, Tom's eyes widening as every single one of them had compromising photos of Y/N, taken last night, on the cover.
"I only bought five, but this sort of stuff was on every single one." Harrison nodded. Tom groaned and stood up, a hand in his hair as he paced his living room.
"Why is she doing this? I mean, we've been best friends with her for twenty years, never once has she been like this, or lashed out like this. What the fuck is going on?" he scoffed.
"I, um, I don't know." Harrison mumbled, looking down at the ground as he sat on the arm of the sofa. Tom looked at him.
"You're lying." He stated. Harrison's head shot back up.
"What?" he scoffed.
"Your nervous tick is that you look down whilst speaking when you're lying, that's exactly what you just did. You know why Y/N is acting out." He nodded. Harrison sighed and returned it, looking at his best friend timidly.
"You know how you two have kissed twice now? And she only found out about the first kiss because of the second one?" Harrison asked.
"Three." Tom mumbled. Harrison looked at him and his eyes widened slightly.
"What?" he scoffed. Tom gulped and looked down, almost feeling like a child who was about to be told off.
"She, um...she kissed me again, last night, whilst drunk." He admitted, looking timidly at his best friend. Harrison scoffed and shook his head, throwing his hands up in exacerbation.
"Why do I bother anymore?" he sighed before looking back at Tom.
"Back to the point, those kisses are destroying her. She thought that because you didn't remind her about the first one, it meant nothing to you, and the fact that you two kissed again whilst relatively sober, and still aren't together reads to her that you two are never going to be together. Fuck knows what she thinks of the third kiss. But the fact that you two still aren't together is destroying her." He sighed. Tom's eyes widened.
"Does she know that I feel the exact same way?" he scoffed.
"Then fucking talk to her, mate. You already lost her once by not confessing your feelings earlier and allowing her to move on, you're about to lose her again in a much more permanent sense. I'm sorry, Tom, but if you don't act now, I won't be there to help you if she leaves you behind for good." Harrison nodded. Tom's eyes wavered and he returned the nod, looking down as he thought.
"I, um, need to get to work. I don't know when Y/N will wake up, but when she does, just tell her where I went. And please, try to get her to the set today." He gulped, looking back up at Harrison with pleading eyes. Harrison sighed and nodded.
"I'll try, mate, but I can't promise anything." He admitted. Tom gave him a small smile.
"That's okay. I'll see you later." He spoke, patting Harrison on the back as he left.
Y/N's P.O.V
Sun streamed through the curtains as my eyes slowly fluttered open. I groaned as I was immediately hit with a wave of nausea, my head also pounding. I gulped as I sat up, my eyes widening slightly as I looked around. I wasn't in my bedroom or even my apartment. Instead, I seemed to be in Tom's bed, recognising the room from when Tom had rented this same apartment before he had gone to LA.
"Y/N? You up?" Harrison's voice called out as I heard the front door open and then shut.
"I'm in Tom's room." I spoke, only just making my voice loud enough. Harrison opened the door, his eyes widening slightly as he saw my state.
"Jesus, mate, you look like shit." He scoffed. I rolled my eyes and flipped him off, making him give me an overly-enthusiastic smile.
"At Tom's request, I swung by your place and grabbed some clean clothes for you." He nodded, chucking a pair of shorts and a spaghetti-strapped crop-top onto the bed.
"Tom can go fuck himself." I mumbled, looking down at the sheets. Sure, last night, I had given in and kissed the attractive boy again, but I was still beyond mad at him and being free of the drunken haze that I'd been in last night only made that feeling stronger.
"I'm sure he'd rather you fuck him, but alright." Harrison mumbled as he started to leave the room.
"What was that?" I called after him.
"Nothing!" he yelled back, making me roll my eyes as I stood up and grabbed my phone.
I sat at the island in Tom's kitchen, scrolling through my phone and drinking my coffee as I checked social media. I looked up as Harrison walked in.
"Alright, let's-Y/N, why the fuck aren't you dressed?" he scoffed as he saw that I was still in my pyjamas.
"What do I need to be dressed for?" I asked slowly.
"Going to see Tom on set, like we always do. Why did you think Tom wanted me to get you some clean clothes?" He scoffed. My eyes wavered and I looked down.
"I, um...I'm not going today." I mumbled. He sighed and looked at me.
"Why not, mate?" he asked softly. I looked back up at him.
"Let's evaluate the situation here, Haz. My best mate, who I'm desperately in love with, kissed me twice, but only reminded me of the first kiss when forced to, after making me cheat on my boyfriend by kissing me again, and I'm sure he told you that he happily kissed me again last night. I love him, but I don't really want to be around Tom right now." I shook my head.
"I get that, but he feels the same way. I've been saying it for months, you guys need to sit down and talk." He nodded.
"Talk about what, Harrison? About the fact that he keeps fucking me over by repeatedly kissing me and then leaving me high and dry?" I scoffed.
"How about you talk about the fact that you're both stupidly in love with each other but refuse to properly talk because you're both too fucking stubborn to cave first?" he snapped back. My eyes widened slightly, and I choked. Harrison's angry expression melted away and he sighed as he looked down.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped-."
"Tom is in love with me?" I choked. Harrison looked at me.
"Yes. Fucking finally, one of you has listened, finally!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms up. I shook my head and held my head in my hands.
"But, Haz, that still doesn't explain why he's done fuck all about it. I mean, he's not exactly a shy guy, surely if he really loved me, he would have acted on it a long time ago." I gulped.
"Why do you think you guys have kissed, three times now, mate?" he sighed. I returned it and looked down.
"I, um...I need to get home. Tell Tom that I didn't feel up to coming to the set or something." I mumbled as I climbed down from the barstool and started to walk past Harrison.
"Y/N." Harrison spoke, gently taking my hand as I passed him. I looked at him and raised my eyebrows, hinting for him to continue.
"I'm always here for you, you know that, right?" he asked.
"I know, Haz, and I love you for it." I nodded. He gave me a small smile and returned it before kissing my head. I gave him one last smile before heading back into Tom's room, releasing a breath that I didn't realise I was holding as I started to get dressed.
