Jin's POV
My response to Eun-Tak had been brief.
I'd sent her all the invoices that I had gathered from my staff and asked her to give me a call as soon as she received my email.
The little cheeky madam, however, decided to do a video call on Skype. I know she was itching to see who I am.
So, I answered the call, but not before I stuck a sizeable piece of insulation tape over the camera. When I answered the call, I saw her face light up momentarily, but then drop when she'd realised just what I had done.
It was priceless.
But it was for her own safety.
Because, if her father knew she had discovered the truth about her sister, he'd increase the security around her. And he may even rope me into those plans.
The further away I am from the Ji family, the happier I'll be. Eun-Tak's sister had made my teen and young adult life a living hell.
I still have nightmares about her forcing herself on me and about the court case.
A court case I needn't have had to attend.
I guess Mr. Ji knows I'm innocent. He just needs me to hang around until he can find the real culprit. Because whoever it is, they will definitely go after Eun-Tak.
"Mr. Kim!" She called me insistently. I guess I'd been lost in thought when Eun-Tak asked me a question.
"Ne, Eun-Tak-ssi. Sorry, lots of documents to peruse through regarding the JF Hillebrand case. If you're free this evening, we can meet for dinner to discuss the details. I cannot share these via email or telephone. The information is simply too sensitive and in the wrong hands, can be manipulated further."
I smirked to myself, knowing full and well that she will refuse.
"No thank you Mr. Kim. I wouldn't want to keep you away from your family." She as good as snapped at me.
"Alright. I'll give this information to my most trusted member of staff. As I am aware, you are already very close with him. Therefore, I am sure you wouldn't mind meeting with him instead." Again, I smirked to myself, already anticipating her answer.
"Jin oppa!" She narrowed her eyes at me.
"Correct. Jin. He's like a son to me. Take good care of the lad." I say to her, almost cracking up. It was difficult to keep a straight face after that.
Just then, Tae walked into my office again.
"Hyung? May I give these totals to Sally in purchasing? She requires an invoice and asked me to confirm with you." My innocent and naïve brother asked, not checking to see if I was in a meeting.
I looked away from my screen to raise a finger to my lips, beckoning him over.
If I muted my microphone now, I would be too suspicious.
"Ne, Taehyung, let me have a look and I shall email these myself to Sally." I winked at Tae as his eyes grew the size of saucers when he realised who I'd been on a call with.
"Duty calls Eun-Tak-ssi. I'll have Jin meet you tonight at around... say 8pm? Goodbye." And with that I hung up grinning from ear to ear.
"Hyung! Did you just ask her out on a date?!" He exclaimed in amazement.
"Actually Tae, I instructed her to meet Jin for dinner. If she really wants to recover those goods from customs, she needs to prove her seriousness. Talk is cheap." I say bluntly, tapping my pen on the documents that Tae had handed me.
"Why didn't you just email me the spreadsheet? Why print it out and walk all the way from your office to mine?" I say to my little brother, amazed by his persistence to continue our earlier conversation.
"I wanted to speak to you in private. But I see you've made plans to meet Eun-Tak." He rolled his eyes at me in mock annoyance.
My dramatic little brother.
"Look Tae, I'm not So-jin, spit it out or I'm going back to my work." I say sternly. Tae is beginning to annoy me.
He'd been to see our dearest brother So-jin recently and hadn't bothered to tell me before leaving to see him. But I couldn't be mad at him for too long because Tae didn't know what my twin brother had actually done to land himself in jail.
...
That evening... dinner at an esteemed hotel
We met at the entrance of the restaurant, right on time. The waiter directed us to the table I'd reserved. It was on the deck outside. Fairy lights provided a decorative touch, while the moonlight was one of the main sources of light. The overall ambiance was romantic.
"Jin oppa! Oh! I'm so glad to see you." Eun-Tak says to me, hugging me a little too tight.
"You're strangling me Eun-Tak." I say, laughing at how she was behaving.
"Oh- Miahneyo oppa." Her cheeks turned a little red and so did her ears.
I guess she really does like me.
I now have a reason to fix this matter. If I put this to bed, I could finally be with her.
"Come, let's sit." I gestured at the table I had reserved for us, pulling up a chair for her before taking a seat next to her. "I believe you finally had a call with Kim Seokjin." I initiate the topic.
"Aish... oppa. That guy is a jerk. He spoke to Tae oppa as if he was his servant and then dismissively cut my call." She sniffed as she fiddled with her purse.
"Hey, Eun-Tak. Look at me." I took her hand in mine, running my thumb over her palm soothingly. She's been getting worked up over me for a while and I was starting to feel a little guilty.
When Eun-Tak didn't pick her head up, I bent forwards to lift her head up by her chin.
She'd been crying.
Great. Now I felt like shit...
"Hey. Big girls don't cry." I said to her, hoping she'd laugh at that.
"Okay Fergie." She sniffed at me, wiping away her tears on the handkerchief I'd offered her.
"He's a big dummy anyway."
Ouch... it hurts when she unknowingly swears me to my face.
"What exactly is your problem with Seokjin?" I asked her in a serious tone, becoming a little frustrated now with all the insults and silly trash talk.
She looked at me dramatically, her eyes wider than the saucers under the water bowls of in front of us.
"What exactly is my problem with the perfect Kim Seokjin, Finance Director of Hana Enterprises?" She repeated, placing her hand on her chest, her jaw dropped to the ground as if to scandalously say 'How can you not know this?'
"Uh- Eun-Tak, why don't you start from the beginning. I only know that you seem to vent about him every time you see me. It's as if you're in love with him at this point..." I mused.
"Hey! Don't ever say that again." She narrowed her eyes at me.
"I will never love anyone like him." Her words stabbed my heart, like a dagger run straight through my chest.
Did she know the truth?
"Okay..." I trailed off, unsure of what to say next.
"He never shows his face. He never answers his calls and when he finally does, he invited me to dinner as if I'm one of those sleazy rats at the office. How dare he!?" She huffed, then continued on with her rant.
"Despite his lack of enthusiasm to the current problem, he's all people talk about in the corridors. Mr. Kim this... and Mr. Kim that... it drives me sick! What does he even do as the Finance Director anyway? He's got Tae oppa running his errands for him as if Tae doesn't already have a job of his own in Marketing and Sales. Bloody gaesaegi. I swear Jin oppa, if I see him, I'll rip his irritating little larynx right out of his throat." Eun-Tak screeches, her hands balled into little fists mere centimetres from her cute little scrunched up face.
However, her words had gotten to me and instinctively, I covered my throat protectively with a hand.
"Why are you covering your throat?" She asked me, suddenly suspicious of me.
"Nothing... You're so violent for a 26 year-old. That's all." I lied.
What else was I supposed to tell her?
'Oh, hey, Eun-Tak! Stop giving me death threats directly, because I'm the real Kim Seokjin!?' Argh!
I think it's time I moved to Canada. My friend Yoongi offered me a job at this firm. Great position. Great salary. Far away from the Ji family. And I could take Tae with me. Keep him out of trouble and away from my twin.
I should phone Yoongi now. Tell him I've reconsidered.
I picked up my cellphone and began to dial him. While I waited, I checked my watch.
It wasn't too late for him. In fact it would be around 6am now for him.
The dial tone continued ringing...
"Oh, before I forget, here's the documents you requested." I say off handedly to her, then I rise from the seat and walked to the poolside, just beyond our table.
I'd booked this spot, so that in the event of her annoying me, I could jump in and drown myself.
"Yeoboseyo?" Yoongi answered a little sleepily.
"Yoongi! How are you my dear friend?" I smiled, genuinely excited to hear his deep voice.
"Hyung?! Omg! I'm doing good and you?" He exclaimed excitedly, sounding more awake than he did a second ago.
"I'm alright. I called you up for two reasons. But I realised that I probably woke you." I say regrettably. "Sorry."
"No it's fine hyung. Anything for you. I actually was meant to wake up an hour earlier. Thank you for waking me." He says politely.
This guy was the best. I wish my twin brother was more like him. Then again... of So-jin was, he wouldn't have blamed all of his crimes on me.
'Sigh...' My life was a sham.
I'd been abused by a dumbass woman, who couldn't tell me apart from my twin; my twin impregnated her, blamed me and then lands himself in jail for doing the same thing to another girl.
Now everyone looks at me like I'm the bad one.
Mr. Ji hates me because I remind him of So-jin and Yoon-ah. And Eun-Tak hates me because she doesn't get what she wants.
My parents blame me for our family 'falling apart' and my little brother thinks that I should come out and tell Eun-Tak the whole truth about this entire fiasco.
Yeah... I'm definitely moving to Canada.
"No problem Yoongi. Listen, I needed to ask... is that position you mentioned still open?" I asked, scrunching my eyes closed and crossing my fingers, praying to God for something good to finally happen in my life.
"Yes, are you finally willing to take it hyung?!" His voice rises with excitement and hope.
"Yes. Please?" I begged, not caring if I sounded desperate.
Yoongi was a recruiter. He ran his own HR solutions firm and often recruited for the biggest chains in the world like DHL, CHC, Uni Trans logistics, Unilever, Proctor and Gamble, Samyang Co, Samsung, Toyota and Mitsubishi, to name few.
"Done hyung. When do you want to start?" He asked happily.
"How about right now?" I say into the receiver, holding my phone out in front of me.
I felt irritated with whatever was happening here, with this company and with Eun-Tak.
I can't take this anymore.
"Done." He said to me. I could hear the joy in his voice.
He'd already sent me the specifics of the job. It was less than what I do here but the pay was bloody incredible. I even have the employment contract signed.
Once I hung up the call, I emailed him the signed contract and then emailed my letter of instant resignation to Mr. Ji.
He'd probably be over the moon.
"Oppa?" Eun-Tak says behind me.
'Oh no... She'd heard my conversation.'
Slowly, I turned around from my spot at the edge of the swimming pool to face her, bracing myself for the oncoming storm.
"Yes Eun-Tak?" I say dismissively.
"Why are you behaving this way with me?" She says, on the verge of tears once more.
"Why? Because I'm in love with you dammit. But I can't be with you, so don't get any ideas..."
Before I could continue or absorb the reaction she'd given me, another person had invited themselves into the conversation.
"No. That's what you should be saying to me, Kim Seokjin. I was your first."
It was Yoon-ah. And she was very much alive.
Suddenly, Mr. Ji's rules had made sense. He'd known what his psychotic daughter was up to.

"What are you doing here?" I snapped at her.
"Just protecting my little sister from you. Does she know how you kissed me all those years ago and then rejected me? Does she know that you made me pregnant?" She hurled her accusations at me as she took one stiletto heeled step at a time towards me, and when she reached me, she ran her filthy hands over my chest as if she owned me.
Gripping her hands by the wrists, I said:
"Don't you dare touch me you little slut. How dare you pretend to be here for her? You never cared about Eun-Tak! And you knew very well who you were fucking when you fell pregnant. It was definitely not me. I heard you moaning his name countless times when I stayed over for the holidays at my house. Because it was the person next to me - not me! It was my twin brother So-jin! At least get our faces right, you bloody bitch." I shook her vigorously as I swore her, finally losing my cool.
Eun-Tak gasped at this sudden change in my behaviour, or perhaps it was because her sister had reappeared from the dead.
"You... you slept with someone while he was in the same room - same bed?" Eun-Tak asked her sister sounding shocked.
Well she certainly had her priorities sorted. Or was she aware that her sister was alive?
I began to feel like I was left in the dark here... I felt betrayed.
Then she turned to face me.
"You have a twin brother?" She asked me. "But, before you answer all of that, how on God's green Earth do you know my sister?" She knitted her eyebrows together completely confused.
Cutting me off before I could begin to explain, Yoon-ah pressed on with her own little rant.
"Argh, you're still the same. Submit to me already, Kim Seokjin." She insisted as she rubbed herself like a cat against me.
Before she could wriggle her wrists free of my grip and run them up my thighs, I pushed her backwards, away from me and away from Eun-Tak. She landed on a pool side chair with a flump but that did nothing to deter her from her taunts.
"I'm sick of you thinking you can have sex with me whenever you want. I'm not your boyfriend, I never was and I never will be. Nor am I a toy for you to use as you please." I spat at her.
I began walking away from the two crazy women. But Eun-Tak had caught hold of my hand.
"You're Kim Seokjin? " Eun-Tak looked at me in shock.
I turned to face her.
"I did tell you this. Countless times. You refused to acknowledge it. Now let's go back into the restuarant." I say to her, gently taking hold of her wrist, trying to persuade her back into the restaurant.
"Don't touch me you pig!" She says, shrugging me off her and sounding hurt.
"Have it your way. In any case," I whispered to her, "I've resigned. So you won't be seeing me ever again. Good bye Ji Eun-Tak."
I laughed bitterly at my fate.
"Okay, so that's both the Ji sisters now... thanks!" I say sarcastically as I looked up at the night sky.
"Jin, baby why don't you join me for dinner? We can catch up on old times. I've missed you." Yoon-ah says laughing at her little sister's reaction.
She'd gotten up off the chair and crept her way back to my side like a psychotic creep.
"No thank you. I had a reservation here for Eun-Tak and I for work purposes but that's over now." I say glancing at Eun-Tak. She looked away from me, refusing to meet my eyes.
"You know Eun-Tak, I'm disappointed in you. I thought you'd be different." I say to her then turned back to face Yoon-ah.
"So-jin is in jail, be sure to pay him a visit if you don't believe that we're twins. I know he had you thinking it was me you were sleeping with. But think carefully. Have I ever taken an interest in you? You forced yourself on me. Slipped into my bed and forced yourself on me. I always pushed you off... did So-jin ever do that?" I lowered my voice, hoping it would make her see sense.
The truth is... Yoon-ah forced herself on me. Twice.
But I'd pushed her off, saving myself at least.
Once at the forest side when we were seventeen. And once more, when we were nineteen, just before I left for university.
I'd secretly been consulting with a psychiatrist for the last ten years. But the nightmares persisted.
Followed by the ghost pains she'd left me in.
"Oh be a man. Stop creating a fake persona to blame. You should be enjoying the sex I gave you. Not running away from it like a wuss." She said dismissively.
I never slept with her! Is she that delusional?
Yoon-ah had said that to me both times I pushed her away. And shortly after that she cornered me and crawled on top of me.
I can't bring myself to think of the rest.

🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
It might sound scandalously tempting. But every second of it was agony.
I hate her.
I hate my parents for letting her get away with it and I hated my twin for letting her think that it was me she had dated.
I hated that he pretended to be me.
Because that was why she had come running behind me in the first place.
So-jin had spied me kissing her that one time and caught her later that day.
They'd made out all night and everyone was happy.
Except me.
My reputation was being tarnished.
And then the next day she'd knocked on my door and ran her hands all over me along with some other things...
So-jin had asked her to do it to him and this dimwit assumed that it was me... she assumed that we were the same person.
Because he'd corner her in the dark and used to only chat over text.
Some twin I had.
It was So-jin who continued to sleep with her and who'd even dated her under the pretense of my name.
It was So-jin who'd made her pregnant. Knowing that the bloody DNA tests wouldn't be wrong if my blood was used.
It took all of my will power to stay in Seoul, for Tae's sake. Because he was innocent in all of this.
I'd ensured we got a good nanny for him so that he was safe while I was away.
I crammed many modules into the semesters to finish my studied earlier. Just so that I could return sooner for Tae.
Over the years, Tae and I grew much closer. He was the only reason I'd stayed sane amid all the chaos in my life.
♡♡♡
The night had taken a turn for the worst.
What was supposed to be my goodbye to Eun-Tak had turned into a nightmare. First my twin's ex-girlfriend turned up from the dead and then Eun-Tak had finally realised she'd been cursing me to my face for the last few months.
I tried to reason with her, but she'd listened to her sister's side of the story and had call me a pig.
Great. Just as well I took up the job in Canada.
I decided to walk away once more from the two crazy sisters while I could. But as I turned my back away, I caught the tail end of their conversation.
There was a scream and a loud splash. And then came the gurgling sounds.
Oh no! It was Eun-Tak!
"Eun-Tak!" I screamed for her, letting her know I'm here for her. That I'm going to save her from her wretched sister, despite her hate for me.
For all her vices, I never expected Yoon-ah to be the type to attempt murder on anyone else.
Perhaps joining my twin brother had eventually rubbed off on her.
I pushed Yoon-ah away, having lots of experience in doing so had made it easier, and then pulled Eun-Tak out of the water.
Yoon-ah stood rooted to the spot - watching in horror at what she'd just done.
And for the first time... she began to cry.
But Eun-Tak wasn't breathing.
I knelt down beside her and began to check her breathing pattern and monitored her pulse.
Then I proceeded to give her CPR.
Clasping the my left hand with my right hand, as paramedics do, I began to push down on the spot just below her rib cage.

And again, I paused.
But before I could repeat the process, Eun-Tak had coughed up the water she'd swallowed.
As she did so, I helped her up and when I saw that she was alright, I made my way to leave the area. As I left the main restaurant, I instructed a waiter to call for a paramedic to take her to the nearest hospital.
I'd ignored her shouts for me as I left and I muted all calls.
Eun-Tak had asked me to leave, so I did.
