Kyoya's struggle
She was on him, hands in his hair and legs around his waist. She was kissing him and yet nothing. He kissed back half heartedly, falling back onto the bed with her in his arms. What was he doing?
She moved to his neck, haphazardly placing open mouthed kisses along the column of his throat as her hands worked his shirt buttons.
His eyes were fixed on the plain white wall opposite, and his mind was barely registering what she was doing to him.
In fact, he didn't even realise as her hands came to a standstill. He didn't notice the frown on her face. Or the way she began pulling away from him.
"Kyoya?" She sighed, her hands dropping from his chest and into her lap instead.
"H-Huh? We're stopping?" He murmured, snapping out of his reverie. His eyes refocused on her face, taking in the detail of her light brown eyes and the red bangs which fell into them.
"This isn't working out" She shook her head, extracting herself from him and standing up.
"Sorry, Mai" Kyoya sighed, watching as she buttoned up her blouse and put her heels back on.
"Yeah well, I think its time for you to acknowledge what you're doing isn't right. Stop playing with girls if your heart isn't in it" Mai frowned, leaning against the door frame to look at him. "I only tolerated it because our families have been good business partners for a long time"
"I know" Kyoya nodded, pushing his glasses back up. "I apologise for wasting your time, Mai-san"
"Well... I wouldn't say it was a complete waste. I had fun while it lasted" She gave him a wry smile, patting down her skirt as she made to leave. "I do hope that you can find peace within yourself at some point though... And get over her"
Kyoya only looked at her, his glasses flashing slightly before he looked back down. He wished he could find peace within himself too.
"You're a good guy, and you have a kind heart. Just a broken one" Mai sighed, walking over to him one last time. "Youre not usually one to let your feelings get in the way of things, I've seen that in the past. She must've been real special, huh?"
He swallowed in return, not really in the mood to speak about... Kira. No matter how hard he tried, everything always came back to her. And he was tired of it, he deserved to move on too. Like she seemed to be, anyway.
"Alright, we don't need to talk about her. But don't think I haven't seen your phone home screen" Mai shrugged, leaning down to peck him one last time. "Take care of yourself, hm? I'll see you in the next board meeting"
She left the room without a second glance, red hair flowing behind her and the the tapping of her heels against the wooden floor getting quieter until they were gone.
Kyoya closed his eyes, collapsing back onto his bed to stare up at the ceiling. Was he even close to moving on? He didn't even want to think about the answer to that question, he knew he wouldn't like it.
Instead he decided to sit up on his bed, reaching for the TV remote and pouring himself a glass of whiskey. Did he like drinking? Not necessarily, it just took the edge off... things. He liked the way it burned all the way down and yet it was ice cold to the touch.
He flicked through the channels, looking for something to watch. A distraction. It was too late to work, unfortunately or else he would've been reviewing his company's work. He wasn't one to sit in front of a TV, honestly he didn't even know why he had one. He reached the news channel, pausing as he saw her on the news.
"Now just in, Kira Takashi, well known for her gold medal performances in the Olympics, has just been rushed to Hospital on account of an injury obtained as a result of training. While we are still waiting for her representatives to comment, we are told that-"
Kyoya's eyes widened and he quickly switched off the TV, reaching for his phone. He hurriedly dialled in a number, placing the phone to his ear.
"Hello? Yes, this is Kyoya Ootori" He said, trying to keep his voice neutral.
"Oh, Ootori-sama, its rather late to be calling. What can I do for you?" The hospital manager asked, rather surprised to have received a call from Kyoya. He was the CEO of the main backing company of The Ootori Group.
"I want to know if Kira Takashi is being admitted to any of The Ootori Group run hopsitals" He said, getting off his bed and beginning to pace.
"You mean the athlete, Kira Takashi?"
"Yes, she was injured recently. I want to know if she's in any of our hospitals" The raven haired young man responded.
"I'm not sure if I can reveal-"
"My family runs the hospital management and I run my family business. Without me, the company would no longer exist so I'll ask once more, is she there?" Kyoya cut him off immediately, sighing as he rubbed his temples. Why did everyone have to be so difficult.
"Okay, fine, I'll check the records" The manager relented, quickly checking the files on the computer he was sat in front of. "Uh... No, she's not in any of our hospitals, Ootori-sama"
"Damn..." He cursed, stopping his pacing. "Okay which hospital is she in?"
"Her manager is keeping it private, if possible apparently. Luckily though, we already have contacts with the Mishima Zaibatsu, who own the hospitals in the Tokyo central area. Please give me 5 minutes and I'll find out for you"
"Thank you, Ren-san. I'll be waiting" Kyoya said simply, ending the call with him and immediately calling up his secretary.
"Hello, Sakurajima-san?"
"O-Ootori-sama. How come you're calling me so late?" She stuttered, rather nervous that her boss was calling her so late.
Kyoya was fully aware of the fact that his assistant, Jun Sakurajima, had a crush on him but she was an incredibly diligent worker so he liked having her around. He knew she meant no harm, even if she did tend to get incredibly flustered around him. She was cute too, as Asuka had pointed out many times before. Honestly, he had stopped taking an interest in anyone regardless of their feelings for him.
After Kira left, the only things that made him truly feel something were alcohol and sex. Apart from those and his work, he showed little to no interest in people. Moving on was a mere fantasy to him.
"I need you to get my accounts ready. I'm going to be making a purchase, and you need to be ready to handle the fine details. Tomorrow morning you need to inform the accounting and finance team" Kyoya instructed her, levitating his whiskey back into his hand and sipping on it.
"Yes, sir. I'll be ready" Jun nodded, quickly taking a few notes.
"Thank you, Sakurajima-san. And get some sleep, hm?" He said gently, swirling the contents of his glass.
"Y-Yes, sir. You too" She said shyly before hanging up.
A few minutes had passed when he recieved another call, from Ren-san (the manager of the hospital).
"Ootori-sama, the Mishima Zaibatsu said that Takashi-san is located in the Violet corp hospital in the Ginza district"
"Violet Corp, hm? I heard they were being bought out by the Tonnerre group too. Excellent. I'm transferring you to the Ginza district in order help start up, okay? I'm buying the Violet Corp hospital" Kyoya said simply, as if it was the most casual statement to make.
"You're buying the hospital?" The manager almost choked, eyes widening. Was the youngest member of the Ootori family serious? Buying out an entire hospital just for one athlete?
"Yes, and I'm trusting you to run things smoothly, Ren-san. Of course you'll be properly compensated for the trouble" Kyoya nodded, downing his drink. "Ensure Ki- I mean Takashi-san is thoroughly taken care of. Pull out all the stops if you need to, I want her to be given the highest quality of care"
"I understand, sir. Do you know Takashi-san personally? You seem to care about her a lot"
"No" Kyoya said sharply, his grip tightening on the glass. "And I'd appreciate it if you could keep our conversation between us. I don't know her, but I think it would be good PR for the Ootori group"
"Yes of course, understood sir. I'm going to prepare for the takeover. I'll ensure that Takashi-san is taken care of to the very best of our ability to allow a quick recovery. Will you be stopping by to meet her?"
"No" Kyoya said simply, setting the glass down. "Anyway, that's all. Apologies for calling so late, I'll let you go now"
Kyoya cut the line and let out a long sigh, levitating his glass back to the table. He hoped she was okay.
He looked down at his home screen, his lip twitching as he stared at the picture of a certain redheaded beauty on ice. She was in the middle of a Biellmann Spin, with a look of concentrated sophistication on her face. She looked beautiful.
"Get well soon, kitten" He murmured, his heart throbbing slightly as he switched off his phone and climbed into bed. "I miss you"
