My Anime List *Once again, it's long* Pt. 2
Disclaimer: Summary's are from MyAnimelist.com
1. SKET Dance. Rating: 7/10.
Summary: At Kaimei High School there is a special club dedicated to helping others known as the SKET Brigade. The brains of the group is Kazuyoshi "Switch" Usui, a tech-savvy otaku who speaks through speech synthesis software, while the brawn is provided by Hime "Himeko" Onizuka, the hockey stick-wielding girl once known as "Onihime." And last but not least, their leader is Yuusuke "Bossun" Fujisaki, whose latent ability is evoked by his goggles, allowing him to summon the awesome power of extraordinary concentration.
However, most of the school only know them as the club that handles odd jobs. Many of their days are spent in the clubroom slacking off, but when there is something to be done, they give their all to help others—usually in sincere, but unintentionally hilarious, ways. The SKET Brigade do all they can to provide support, kindness, encouragement, and troubleshooting to any students crazy enough to ask for their services.
This anime is hilarious, hits you right in the feels and the animation is great as well. Honestly, I really do like it. The characters never fail to make you smile and yes, Sriju 'recommended' that I watch it...actually when I was on Christmas break as a present to her. A nice Christmas gift to both of us. :)
2. Fairy Tail. Rating: 8/10. Summary: In the mystical land of Fiore, magic exists as an essential part of everyday life. Countless magic guilds lie at the core of all magical activity, and serve as venues for like-minded mages to band together and take on job requests. Among them, Fairy Tail stands out from the rest as a place of strength, spirit, and family.
Lucy Heartfilia is a young mage searching for celestial gate keys, and her dream is to become a full-fledged wizard by joining this famous guild. In her search, she runs into Natsu Dragneel and his partner Happy, who are on a quest to find Natsu's foster father, the dragon Igneel.
Upon being tricked by a man, Lucy falls under an abduction attempt, only to be saved by Natsu. To her shock, he reveals that he is a member of Fairy Tail and invites her to join them. There, Lucy meets the guild's strange members, such as the ice wizard Gray Fullbuster and magic swordswoman Erza Scarlet. Together as a family, they battle the forces of evil, help those in need, and gain new friends, all the while enjoying the never-ending adventure that is Fairy Tail.
I love this anime with all my heart, plus I've never cried this much at any show. Animation is breathtaking and the characters are just so well developed. I recommend this anime to everyone and anyone. Gosh I think the part that made me cry the hardest was Lisanna's death (promise you its not a spoiler). The ships are....mediocre. The only ship that I actually ship is Lisanna x Natsu & Gajeel x Levy then thats pretty much it but I certainly don't watch it for the ships. So neither should you. ☝🏾
3. Golden Time. Rating: 7/10. Summary: Due to a tragic accident, Banri Tada is struck with amnesia, dissolving the memories of his hometown and past. However, after befriending Mitsuo Yanagisawa, he decides to move on and begin a new life at law school in Tokyo. But just as he is beginning to adjust to his college life, the beautiful Kouko Kaga dramatically barges into Banri's life, and their chance meeting marks the beginning of an unforgettable year.
After having a glimpse of college life, Banri learns that he is in a new place and a new world – a place where he can be reborn, to have new friends, fall in love, makes mistakes and grow. And as he begins to discover who he was, the path he has chosen leads him towards a blindingly bright life that he will never want to forget.
Love it. Tears were shed and laughs were released. It really is a heart-filled anime with problems that some of us can relate to. I really enjoyed watching it and I've made a mental note to finish the manga (If I haven't already. My memory is pretty bad. Heheh)
4. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Rating 6/10. Summary: When abandoned kittens and his good conscience force second year Sorata Kanda to move into Suimei High School's infamous Sakura Hall, the satellite dorm and its eccentric, misfit residents turn his life upside down. The decidedly average Sorata finds it difficult to fit in with the bizarre collection of dorm residents like Misaki, an energetic animator; Jin, a playwright playboy; Ryuunosuke, a reclusive programmer; and Chihiro, the dorm manager, art teacher, and party girl.
Sorata's friend Nanami, a second year student and aspiring voice actress, pushes him to find new owners for the many cats so that he can quickly move back into the regular dorms. However, his desire to escape Sakura Hall wavers when the pet-like and infantile second year Mashiro Shiina, a world-class artistic savant looking to become a mangaka, transfers in during the spring trimester and quickly latches onto him.
Supported by each other's quirks, Sorata and Mashiro come out of their shells and trigger change in the lives of those around them. Based on the light novel series of the same name, Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo explores the fine threads connecting talent, hard work, romance, and friendship with its ensemble cast.
Alright, lets get this over with. The reason for the lower rating was the imbalance. I loved the comedy more than the romance. The intended ship just didn't work for me and rather annoyed me. So I shipped other things. Main reason why I continued was all because of Misaki-senpai, by far one of my all-time favorite characters in an anime. But I do encourage you guys to give it a try to see how you feel about it.
5. My Little Monster. Rating: 6.75/10. Summary: Shizuku Mizutani is apathetic towards her classmates, only caring about her grades. However, her cold view of life begins to change when she meets Haru Yoshida, a violent troublemaker who stopped attending class after getting into a fight early in the school year. He is not much different from her, though—he too understands little about human nature and does not have any friends. Much to Shizuku's surprise, he proclaims that she will be his friend and immediately confesses his feelings towards her upon meeting her.
Because of her lack of friends and social interaction, Shizuku has a hard time understanding her relationship with Haru. But slowly, their friendship begins to progress, and she discovers that there is more to Haru than violence. She begins to develop feelings for him, but is unsure what kind of emotions she is experiencing. Together, Shizuku and Haru explore the true nature of their relationship and emotions.
Makes me laugh every-time. Just putting this out there: Haru Yoshida is MY precious baby-kins. MINE. Now back to the explanation. I gave it a 6.75 because I saw a 6 as too low but a 7 too high. I think why I like this anime is because of Haru's humorous antics that it really does drive the romance. Its just so precious, He's so precious. Man I love him. 😍
6. Kimi no Todoke. Rating: 6.9/10. Summary: Kuronuma Sawako is completely misunderstood by her classmates. Her timid and sweet demeanor is often mistaken for malicious behavior. This is due to her resemblance to the ghost girl from "The Ring," which has led her peers to give her the nickname Sadako. Longing to make friends and live a normal life, she is naturally drawn to Kazehaya Shouta, the most popular guy in class, whose "100% refreshing" personality earns him great admiration from Sawako. So when Kazehaya starts talking to her, maybe there is hope for the friendships Sawako has always longed for. Maybe... there is even a little hope for some romance in her future.
At first I did not like the anime, I admit. That was mainly because the main character seemed like a pushover and I hate that in girls. But when I imagined myself as her, I grew so much respect for her. There were times that was punching my pillows and times where I felt like crying. Soundtrack did not help the tears thing either but my previous dislike still arbors withen me so that is for the lower score.
7. Honey & Clover. Rating: 5/10. Summary: Yuuta, Takumi, and Shinobu share a six-tatami room apartment with no bath. The rent is low and it's perfect for poor college students such as themselves. Shinobu is a mysterious, quirky person, who does things on a whim. Takumi is passionate both in work and love, and Yuuta is a simple person with simple dreams and desires. That is, until he meets Hagumi, a petite girl with enormous amount of talent. Hagumi is fondly called Hagu by Shuuji, who serves as Hagu's guardian. Hagu meets Ayumi, nicknamed Ayu, and they become close friends almost instantly. Meanwhile, Ayu falls for one of the boys...
The joys of falling in love, the pain of letting go, discovering one's self, and finding the courage to move on—these are some of the things that the characters in Hachimitsu to Clover experience as they take part in the play staged by fate.
One of the animes that I did not like. Like I don't even know how to describe how I feel but I'll try. It was boring honestly, what made it boring were the characters. I did not like Ayumi, I saw her as a whiny girl that is pushing for something that isn't there. The intended ship also did not work for me, mainly because from an outsider's point-of view it looks like HE FALLS IN LOVE WITH A GIRL THAT IS 9 YEARS OLD. It disgusted me, and it doesn't help that she acted like it sometimes. A rule that I created was that I have to finish all the episodes in the anime unless I'm at the half-way point and its just awful, I had no feelings toward the anime STILL at the halfway point. There's a sequel but I don't want to but a part of me hopes the next one will redeem itself. Not even the hilarious Shinobu could save it.
8. Lovely Complex. Rating: 7.5/10. Summary: Love is unusual for Koizumi Risa and Ootani Atsushi, who are both striving to find their ideal partner in high school—172 cm tall Koizumi is much taller than the average girl, and Ootani is much shorter than the average guy at 156 cm. To add to their plights, their crushes fall in love with each other, leaving Koizumi and Ootani comically flustered and heartbroken. To make matters worse, they're even labeled as a comedy duo by their homeroom teacher due to their personalities and the stark difference in their heights, and their classmates even think of their arguments as sketches.
Lovely★Complex follows Koizumi and Ootani as they encourage each other in finding love and become close friends. Apart from their ridiculous antics, they soon find out an unexpected similarity in their music and fashion tastes. Maybe they possess a chemistry yet unknown, but could love ever bloom between the mismatched pair?
I really enjoyed watching anime after being annoyed by the last one. There were so many times that I wanted to climb through the screen at hit people but it was an amazing show none the less. The romances are cute, Ootani is an idiot and the comedy is hilarious. Plus the show features a transgender female so that was pretty cool. But she annoys me so much for words to even describe, but progress is progress ( I guess ).
9. Ao Haru Ride. Rating: 8.5/10. Summary: Futaba Yoshioka used to be an attractive and popular middle-schooler—well liked by the opposite sex, but ostracized by the girls. Nevertheless, she was able to brush all that off, because the only opinion that truly mattered to her was that of Kou Tanaka, a classmate with whom she shared a shelter from rain once, followed by quite a few other precious and significant memories. She even succeeded at making plans to meet with the quiet and innocent boy at the summer festival, but a simple misunderstanding, and Tanaka's subsequent disappearance, left her walking the halls of her school friendless.
Now in high school, Futaba is not your typical adolescent girl. Determined to become a class favorite this time, she avoids all unwanted attention and, instead of acting cute and feminine, only stands out through her tomboyish behavior and disheveled look. But still, her world is soon turned upside down when the only boy she ever liked unexpectedly comes into her life once again—except he goes by the name of Kou Mabuchi now, and it is not his name alone that has gone through a sea change.
I love this anime with all my heart and the manga made it better! I highly recommend it :). The soundtrack is gorgeous and I listen to it in my free time, the characters are just so real and this shows how girls can villanize one another, its just sad. But I love this anime and I'm planning on reading the manga again, like thats just how good this show/manga really is. Bonus: Kou is my precious babbyyyyy.
10. Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. Rating: 8/10. Summary: The rare and inexplicable Puberty Syndrome is thought of as a myth. It is a rare disease which only affects teenagers, and its symptoms are so supernatural that hardly anyone recognizes it as a legitimate occurrence. However, high school student Sakuta Azusagawa knows from personal experience that it is very much real, and happens to be quite prevalent in his school.
Mai Sakurajima is a third-year high school student who gained fame in her youth as a child actress, but recently halted her promising career for reasons unknown to the public. With an air of unapproachability, she is well known throughout the school, but none dare interact with her—that is until Sakuta sees her wandering the library in a bunny girl costume. Despite the getup, no one seems to notice her, and after confronting her, he realizes that she is another victim of Puberty Syndrome. As Sakuta tries to help Mai through her predicament, his actions bring him into contact with more girls afflicted with the elusive disease.
I plan on reading the manga, don't worry. But this anime...gosh. How psychological it is makes me heart ache and I want more (for reasons unknown to you 🙃). The sly humor and life lessons brought in by the situations really makes you think. I love this anime and I recommend that you watch it. A few tears were shed and brains processing faster than what I normally do, so try it and you just may like it too. { Just checked and theres gonna be a season two! YAS!}
11. Oreshura. Rating: 5.5/10. Summary: The infidelity of Eita Kidou's parents not only made his family fall apart, but also made him skeptic of love. Having no intention to delve into romance, Eita devotes his entire high school life to his studies in order to become a doctor.
It did not take long for the beautiful and popular Masuzu Natsukawa to notice Eita's apathy. Tired of being the object of people's affection, she asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend, as she too feels disgusted at the notion of love. Eita, however, refuses—yet Masuzu has one trick left up her sleeve: Eita's journal and threatening to post the embarrassing content online if he does not comply.
Now entangled in a fake romance with the most desired girl at school, Eita's life is turned upside down. Whether envied by his peers or receiving a confession, he must cope with his newfound relationship and all the troubles that come along with it.
This anime is not good but not bad either, just dead in the middle. Some times I would just be like (-_-) at the screen but would tough through it since the anime is only 13 episodes, but I heard that the manga makes up for it so maybe I'll give that a try. Anything can happen when you're in a harem.
12. Hyakuren no haou to seiyaku no valkyria. Rating: 6/10. Summary: Some urban legends are best left untested! Yuuto Suou gets more than he bargained for when he joins his childhood friend Mitsuki Shimoya in testing out an urban legend. When he uses his phone to take a picture of himself with the local shrine's divine mirror, he is whisked off into another world—one heavily steeped in the lore of the old Norse myths.
Using his knowledge gained from school and from his solar-powered smartphone, he has the chance to bring the Wolf Clan, the same people who cared for him, to prominence, all while earning the adoration of a group of magic-wielding warrior maidens known as the Einherjar.
My friend were exchanging animes to watch and she recommended this to me, even now I barely know how I feel about it. You don't really get a background on what happened in the anime, you kinda just have to follow along as well as NOT skipping the theme song because that has the background too. But even then you'll still get lost, I know that I did. But I thank this anime because this anime helped me get rid of my...not fear but major dislike for blood in anime sooooo thank you! A lot of busty girls going after the same dude and some not even realizing it. Maybe thats your cup of tea..for me..eh.
13. Ladies Vs Butlers. Rating: 4.75-6/10. Summary: Hino Akiharu lost his parents when he was small and was adopted into his uncle's family. He didn't want to be a burden on his uncle's family and decides to enter a free boarding school as a butler, Hakureiryou high school. However, his delinquent boy-like appearance frightens the girls, who make up the majority of the students. Unable to get along with the classmates, Akiharu meets his childhood crush Saikyou Tomomi.
This anime should just be a hentai. I'm dead serious. SO. MANY. BOOBS. and vaginas as well, but mainly boobs. There really isn't a plot to the anime, its more like the writers said this: Alright, lets make this anime walk on a very fine line between ecchi and hentai. I mean, who wouldn't want to get turned on by a bunch of busty women? (-_-) The romance part isn't really enforced until the near end but even then there are 12 episodes. I stumbled across this anime due to a WatchMojos list on craziest anime hair (Now that did not disappoint). The first episode...no words but I continued hoping to get something fangirl worthy, and I did get that but it was like 10 minutes in a certain episode. Also as you guys may have guessed. WARNING: This anime is rated R+ for mild nudity. Is it worth it? Idk, I'm honestly afraid to read the manga cause if someone sees me then they'll think I'm reading a porno.Story wise, the characters were interesting in a sort of good way so I'll give them that. And why the range? Because it really depends on my mood on what I'd actually rate this as.
14. To Loveru. Rating: 5/10. Summary: Timid 16-year-old Rito Yuuki has yet to profess his love to Haruna Sairenji—a classmate and object of his infatuation since junior high. Sadly, his situation becomes even more challenging when one night, a mysterious, stark-naked girl crash-lands right on top of a bathing Rito.
To add to the confusion, Rito discovers that the girl, Lala Satalin Deviluke, is the crown princess of an alien empire and has run away from her home. Despite her position as the heiress to the most dominant power in the entire galaxy, Lala is surprisingly more than willing to marry the decidedly average Rito in order to avoid an unwanted political marriage.
To LOVE-Ru depicts Rito's daily struggles with the bizarre chaos that begins upon the arrival of Lala. With an evergrowing legion of swooning beauties that continuously foil his attempted confessions to Haruna, To LOVE-Ru is a romantic comedy full of slapstick humor, sexy girls, and outlandishly lewd moments that defy the laws of physics.
Ok, I learned after I watched the anime from reviews that the anime strayed far from the manga so I'm gonna read the manga and do a comparison but I'll do a review on the manga its self. Fillers. Some were nice fillers and of course its another ecchi anime, saw the manga at Barnes & Nobles (For people outside the states, its just a book shop) so I searched it up and watched the anime. I did laugh so I'll give them that and it did get me invested on what happens to the characters but what gave it a low rating was the comparison between this and other animes I rate 6 and above.
15. Snow White with Red Hair. Rating: 6/10. Summary: Although her name means "snow white," Shirayuki is a cheerful, red-haired girl living in the country of Tanbarun who works diligently as an apothecary at her herbal shop. Her life changes drastically when she is noticed by the silly prince of Tanbarun, Prince Raji, who then tries to force her to become his concubine. Unwilling to give up her freedom, Shirayuki cuts her long red hair and escapes into the forest, where she is rescued from Raji by Zen Wistalia, the second prince of a neighboring country, and his two aides. Hoping to repay her debt to the trio someday, Shirayuki sets her sights on pursuing a career as the court herbalist in Zen's country, Clarines.
Akagami no Shirayuki-hime depicts Shirayuki's journey toward a new life at the royal palace of Clarines, as well as Zen's endeavor to become a prince worthy of his title. As loyal friendships are forged and deadly enemies formed, Shirayuki and Zen slowly learn to support each other as they walk their own paths.
I was actually disappointed with this anime. Everywhere people would gush about how amazing this anime is and how they recommend it to everyone. Not me though. I found it lacking, not saying that they aren't good characters (which they totally are) but the chemistry...I just didn't feel it. But I do thank this anime, it helped me fully get over my extreme dislike of blood in animes/deaths. The animation is gorgeous and the plot was good, but the romance part...maybe the hype got to me and I didn't see so thats why its a low rating.. *sigh*.
Have any questions or animes you think that I'd enjoy just slide into the comments and let me know ( I sound like a Youtuber...BLEHHHH)
