I walked to the school, past the other chattering students. I continued walking, shoving my hands in my jacket pocket and humming a song. Soon enough, I arrived at the doorway of the building, the door still closed, as no students were allowed to go in yet. I tapped my awaiting friends on the shoulder from behind, and one of them looked my way. She greeted me, but I was no longer paying attention. My eyes fixated on the book in her hands.

The Trials of Apollo.

I gasped and pointed a finger at the book. "Oh my gosh!" I exclaimed suddenly with eyes wide. Then I face-palmed after I remembered. "Shoot! I forgot to go to Barnes and Nobles!" I was originally planning to go to Barnes and Nobles the day the new book by Rick Riordan had come out. I had not gotten a chance. "Can I read it?!"

My friend looked at me with playful annoyance. "No... I'm only on the fourth chapter."

I examined the thick book, wondering where the fourth chapter was. I sighed when I found the bookmark. Not even halfway. "Can I read the back and the inside jacket at least?"

After much laughter at the back of the book, another friend of ours had come our way, holding the same book. "Hey dudes! Look, I got the book too!" she said happily.

"Lucky!" I sighed again, leaning on the wall. The school still wasn't open yet.

Soon, we were all talking about the book but my friend had to keep on shutting up the other one because she didn't want any spoilers. As a (wishful) child of Apollo, I had many questions. They answered them all.

Finally we were able to go in, and we went our separate ways. Luckily, my spoiler friend was in the same class as me, and we had several minutes to talk in the gym before heading to class. I grinned. "Anything else I should know, you know, that's not a big spoiler?" I asked full of excitement.

My friend looked thoughtful, still in the middle of reading her book. Then she looked up suddenly. "Oh right! (Censored Name {as to not have spoilers}) and (Censored) are a thing now!" She squealed, waiting for my reaction.

At first I just stared at her, shocked. The ship was canon?! I couldn't believe it. "(Ship name)?! But... but how?! I mean, when I first read into it, I didn't understand why it was even a thing! The only indication was at the end of the last book of HHO, but it only said they were talking! I mean, that wasn't a lot to base a ship on!"

My friend just smirked knowingly while I ranted.

"And I always shipped (Random Name) with (Censored), not (Censored) with (Censored Name)!" I kept on talking.

I paused for breath, and my friend replied in this short timeframe. "Yeah, I shipped (Random Name) with (Censored) too, but now that I think 'bout it, the canon ship between (Censored) and (Censored Name) is really cute!"

"Right..." I pointed a finger at The Trials of Apollo book in her hands. "Show me!" I demanded, wanting proof really really really badly. I was very hesitant about this new confirmed ship.

"Okay!" My friend let out a brief breath and flipped through her book. "Let's see..." I waited patiently/impatiently for the result. Finally, she let out an "Aha!" of triumph and shoved the book in my face, pointing at one of the pages. "Read from this paragraph to down here," she directed.

I did, and when I reached the last sentence, I had to suppress another gasp. A strangling noise was brewing in my throat, but to make sure that it didn't happen, I sighed instead.

It was canon.

After a short silence, I spoke after being in deep thought. "I think I could get used to that." I put my hands to my hips, sitting on my friend's violin case. She shoved me off of it and said, "Yeah! I did! So are you going to read the book after I finish?"

I took one more glance at the book, the story that sunk one of my ships. None of my ships have ever been sunk! Never! Well, except for a few other Warrior Cat ships. But this... this wasn't Warriors. This was freaking Percy Jackson.

Finally when we had to go to class, I nodded in reply to her question. Of course I would read the book anyways.

This. This happened to me today. I just needed to rant about this new thing. I couldn't help myself. I just could not! I might have made the story a tad more dramatic, but that's it! Everything else in the short story is 100% true.

I can't wait for my friend to finish it.
