*deep breath* Hoo boy.

Kubo easily climbs onto my top three favorite movies of this year.

It's every animation-lover, adventurer, and hopeful magician's dream.

Kubo is a great main character, and the supporting cast is great as well. Monkey and Beetle are really entertaining in their own way.

The voice acting is great. The animation is stunning for stop-motion, and it really feels like you're on a high-strung adventure. The imagination is so strong in this one, and I saw so many concepts I had never even thought to see or encounter!

However, my only complaint would have to be the villain. His motives were a little weak. I understand what the creators were trying to say, but it still is a little lame.

I will admit I cried. Twice. Metaphors (metaphors are my reason for crying okay, don't judge me) are EVERYWHERE!

It was a great experience, and I can't wait to buy it when it comes out on DVD and Blu-Ray!

Laika makes quality films, and I can't express enough over letting people know that this company needs money. When I saw this in theaters and looked around, there were only about ten people there to see it, so it was really disappointing to see that people are skipping out on this movie just because it's not made by Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks, Illumination Studios, etc.

So please just go watch this film. For Laika, and the experience I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy. It has a lot of adult themes, and that really surprised me,so this movie can be loved by any age.
