An Argument With The Moon
In the moonlight that hums,
We chant away our love,
The shimmering shimmering blue,
And the soft pure stars above,
The breeze too it blows,
Whispering secrets divine,
I have your pleasant company,
Ah! This night is fine,
When you fall asleep,
The moon asks me about it all,
"what have you seen fair maiden in this defeated knight,
Why, there are plenty of more pleasurable sights? "
" do nought say that, my moon oh moon,
You are blinded by your light"
"am I in the wrong then? "the moon exclaimed,
I replied," nay, My love is in the right "
" but look out maiden, why, you are young and fine,
You could've gotten a handsome lad, why you chose this swine "
" My moon, Oh moon I do nought see his his looks, lust must be intoxicating like wine,
But my lover's love is too pure, too divine"
"fair maiden you do nought understand,
Struck in a fairytale, a dream land,
Life is short, life is bland,
You will not forever walk hand in hand "
" Oh my moon, you are naive to say this all,
Life is fulfilling and death does bend,
For I and my lover, we're one soul
We're Joined end to end,
"young maiden, your heart is chaste and kind,
Love is deaf oh love is blind,
Love doesn't look, love doesn't find,
Alas Love will weep for love has pined "
" what harm will a few tears do to me,
My moon, if I am in my loves company,
Imagine how lifeless it would be,
If hearts didn't bleed if hearts were not free,
Love is never lost so love does not find,
Love sets free, love doesn't bind,
Love sees all yet accepts, love is not blind,
Love resides in the soul, neither the heart nor the mind,
Love is truth so it will have pined,
Humans are cruel and love is kind. "
" maiden why, why, its a pitiful sight,
You are true and you are right,
Though I shine and shimmer with these bright stars,
Yet I am in love with the dark night. "
Hearing this, I smiled.
And so did my lover in my warm Embrace.
And we slept again in our dream land,
Till the sun rose and the moon turned away its face.
