There may be spoilers in this so don't read it unless you've seen Sweeney Todd. I wouldn't want to give it away...So I watched the movie I think last summer with my sister and we totally loved it! As horribly disturbing as it is... Since then I've seen a live version on YouTube with Patty Lapone and Neal Patrick Harris as well!

Favorite Character: Sweeney! I'm so cliche! All my favorite characters are the main characters but hey that's what they're there for right? I get he's a cold hearted killer and whatever but he's really fun to watch. His transformation from Benjamin Barker to Sweeney Todd is really crazy. I wish he could have been a good person after enduring what he did but alas we wouldn't have the musical then! I love how he was able to love Lucy for so long even without seeing her or hearing her voice, I think that is so sweet and really shows true love.

Least Favorite Character: Beetle Bamford. He's creepy and doesn't actually do anything meaningful the entire show. He just follows Judge Turpin around and cheers him on in his sadistic activities. And I hate the scene when Turpin throws Anthony out but then Bamford beats him with a cane! It's so scary and he's so heartless about it!

Favorite Song: My Friends! It's a truly gorgeous song and the lyrics are so meaningful in multiple ways and I know part of those lyrics are about him wanting to kill people but pretty much the whole musical is them singing about killing people so......

Movie or Musical: I'm actually gonna have to go with Movie on this one. I love Johnny Depp's Sweeney and the different kind of voice he brings to it. And he is such a phenomenal actor! Even though Helena Bohem Carter isn't he best singer ever, she embodies the character well! Alan Rickman is simply fantastic as Judge Turpin and anything else that he does for that matter and the rest of reh cast is splendid as well! I also like the very slight details that the movie is able to add that frankly you wouldn't be able to see in a stage show. Just little things like the pictures in his room and his close up facial expressions bring something a lot deeper to it then I feel the stage musical can. I'm sure those things are there in the show but not as noticeably and the stage show is amazing but I really love the movie.

Foreshadowing: I've never seen more amazing foreshadowing in any other film before I don't think. The very subtle things they say and do give the most amazing hints at the ending! Every time I watch it I pick up on something new and it blows my mind! One part that always really stuck out to me was when Mrs. Lovett asks him if he remembered want Lucy looked like and all he can say is that she had blonde hair because in the end he *spoiler* kills Lucy without a second glance because he didn't know it was her.
