Okay so I always talk about musicals I do like and never the ones I'm not a fan of and the reason for that is because I don't want to offend anyone or come across as really bitter; however, I figured that since you guys have been reading this for a while now maybe you won't think I'm super bitter!

Also this is not to say that these musicals are not good, it's just to point out that I do not like them very much for various reasons which I'll explain.

Matilda: I just can't get into Matilda. I know that's it's very popular and a lot of people like it but I don't know I just don't. I don't really like the plot at all or any of the songs. I don't really like the style that much and I don't like listening to little kids sing really.... I know that sounds so mean but particularly in this musical it comes across as whiny and in your face. I find the plot quite dull and uninviting. I understand that most people think the opposite as its a family show and it's supposed to be endearing and whatever but I like tragedies and drama so it bores me a bit.

Into the Woods: Okay so I have mixed opinions about this one. I saw the movie in theatres when it first came out and then saw another live performance of it on YouTube. I like many but not all of the songs so I guess it's the plot I have a bit of an issue with. I find that it drags a bit. The whole deal with going into the woods to find the items is fine I guess; though I find it cliche, but after that and the giant comes down its just excessive. It makes it far too long. And I don't necessarily mind long musicals *cough cough les mis cough cough* but there's no reason this musical should be so long. It's such a forced sad ending that I can't get around it.

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee : I don't have a whole lot to say on this one other than I don't really find it funny and I dislike the music. This one annoys me mostly because it's adults playing kids and trying to sound like them which bothers me more than just have kids sing.

Peter Pan: I feel this one is an unpopular opinion due to the fact that it's Disney. Peter Pan has never been one of my favorite Disney stories and I don't really care for the music much. This opinion might change as my high school is performing it this year for their musical and I plan on seeing it, so maybe I'll enjoy it better live but I'm not holding out too much hope. I know my school will perform it well as I find that our theatre company is pretty talented but I still don't think I'll like it. I really don't like the story or the characters or the music.

Hair: So Hair is about druggies in the 1960s. Therefore it's a bit too much for me. I'm not into all the drugs and sexual stuff. And I know it's probably deeper than that but I don't really like the 1960s as a decade (in America anyway) as I find it wasn't as great and happy as everyone said it was. It was so dark and sad in my opinion and I don't like the way it's portrayed in media today. That doesn't necessarily effect my opinion on the musical itself I guess but I really just don't like it.

Kinky Boots: Again, the plot of this musical is unbearably boring to me. I don't find it all too funny and it's quite boring. Also I hate most of the music. It's too modern for me I guess. I prefer the more classical sounding musicals so a lot of this bugs me. Also, I'm not the biggest fan of Billy Porter so I don't like the cast album much.

Hey guys! So I know it's been awhile and I sincerely apologize for that! I've had a lot of things happening in my life as of late and a lot I needed to deal with so I haven't had a lot of inspiration to write anything so I'm sorry!

Also I know this list is short it's all I felt like writing currently. I'll probably continue to update it though so be on the look out for that!

Again I'd like to make it very clear that I do not denounce this shows as bad necessarily it's just I'm not really a fan of them! I don't mean to offend anyone at all and if you like these musicals tell me why! Also tell me some musicals you don't like! I'd love to hear them! Thanks!
