So I'd like to start this chapter by saying I'm not a big fan of Disney Broadway Shows. I like Disney movies, it's just not exciting to me when they then come to Broadway. I'd rather see more new and original material. I'm not saying they aren't good, most of them are great, I just personally don't pay much attention or care all that much about them. I apologize if you do like them, but that's just my opinion.

That being said, I love Aladdin on Broadway! The first time I heard about it was at the Tony's a few years ago when they preformed Friend Like Me. It was so awesome that I listened to the soundtrack and I really love it! Aladdin has always been one of my favorite Disney movies but this version is somewhat different which is why I think I like it so much!

Favorite Character: Aladdin...he's a really good guy for a thief. He's so sweet and I love the whole "Do you trust me" thing. I get that he pretends to be something he's not for a girl and whatever but it's in a sweet way because he had no other way to get to her. And don't even get me started on Adam Jacobs! He's brilliant!

Least Favorite Character: Is that even possible? They're all great! Even Jafar! You just have to like Jafar as a villain!

Favorite Song: Either, Arabian Nights or Proud of Your Boy. 'Arabian Nights' is so much fun and it's such a great opening song! The opening song is like what sets the mood and the expectation for the entire musical and this one is totally perfect! And 'Proud of Your Boy' is soooo sweet! It's a gorgeous song and Adam sings it beautifully. The lyrics are gorgeous and I wish it wasn't cut out of the movie!

Least Favorite Song: Non Applicable.

Costumes: The costumes in this are brilliant! They are so cool and sparkly and flamboyant! The whole show seems very exciting and fun! I'd really like to see it!

Actors: I love this original cast. I'm not really sure who's in the show now, but the cast recording is fantastic so I want to talk about those actors. As I already said, Adam Jacobs is magnificent! He's a perfect Aladdin! I can't even think of anyone better to play him! And James Monroe Iglehart is so amazing! He's such a great genie! And he has just a great voice! He is also perfect for his role! Now, I've heard a lot of complaints about Courtney Reed as Jasmine but I love her! I really like her voice and her acting seems fine on the recording. It's a little hard to judge but I really like her! And last but not least, Jonathan Freeman as Jafar. He's the original Jafar from the movie so he's obviously perfect. I love his voice! It's actually evil sounding! That may only because I've heard him only as Jafar but nonetheless he's amazing!

Jafar's lack of villain song: Personally, I love Disney villain songs! They are typically my favorites from Disney soundtracks. However, it disappoints me that Jafar doesn't seem to have one... Yes, you could say Diamond in the Rough but that's not really evil sounding and he's not by himself just singing of his evil deeds. Like there's no song that's the equivalent to 'Be Prepared' from the 'Lion King' or 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' from 'The Little Mermaid'. But Jafar is a perfect person to have that. And 'Prince Ali (Jafar Reprise)' is the most evil sounding he gets and that's a very short song. It's just disappointing. And there are some villain songs like 'Cruella De Vil' that are sung by other people describing how evil the villain is, but Jafar doesn't even get that. And he's arguably more evil than a lot of these other characters. For example, Gaston from 'Beauty and the Beast' gets his own song but it's just about him being a jerk! And being a jerk and being evil are two very different things! All I'm saying is Jafar deserves a villain song! Sorry that got really long...
