It was 9:00 pm. Finally it was time for Shivay to move back to his home. Like always after completing his visit to all the wards he went to check on Annika. She was lying down on the bed. He went towards her and scanned her face. It was still the same, pale and expressionless. From last 6 months her condition was same. She would just keep staring at the same place. She would keep quiet all the day. It was as if she was only taking breaths but internally all dead.

Shivay held her hand in his and gradually landed into those same heart wrenching memories remembering those in unfateful events of their lives.

*FLASHBACK STARTS*
He and Annika were became best of buddies gradually. Before she came in his life he used to be all serious. He didn't laughed, there was a part of his heart always paining because of what his father was. He hated him but some part of him also missed the fatherly love. He was just 15 when Yash married Simran, his mother broke that day, he broke that day and since then he hated his father. When she came in his life, Shivay started smiling being around her, her long gossip sessions, her cute expressions, her crazy antics just made his heart lighter. He started feeling better, his heart started feeling better.

He then recalled the day when he realised that he loved her, he was going to tell her it to her when she herself gave him the shock of his life. That same day, Rahul proposed to her. Rahul, his step brother who casually came to the hospital saw her and instantly fell in love with her. He told her about his feelings but she being neutral asked him for some time before saying anything.

Meanwhile she came to Shivay and told him about the proposal. Shivay was once again broken, he knew that she didn't loved Rahul but he also got to know that she didn't loved him too. The moment when she was telling him about Rahul, her eyes were filled with the happiness of getting married and settling with some who loved her. Losing her family in early childhood she always wished for a having her own small loving family. She didn't loved Rahul but his proposal gave her hopes that finally she can also have her own family.

Rahul was Shivay's weakness. Although he hated his father, he barely talked with Simran (his step mom) but he just loved Rahul, more than his own real brother. It didn't seemed that Rahul was his step brother. He didn't had any other sibling and Rahul was his only brother. Rahul loved Shivay too, not as much as he did but he loved him. Shivay pampered him immensely and when he got to know that Rahul loved Annika, he could not ask her to reject his proposal. So being a best friend he advised Annika to trust Rahul and his love and quietly sacrificed his love for the love of his brother.

Eventually he distanced himself from Annika. Annika and Rahul started spending time with each other. Rahul asked Shivay to convince their dad to accept Annika as his daughter in law. Shivay did that too, keeping his self respect aside he went to him and tried to convince him. Finally Yash agreed for the marriage. Shivay missed Annika but he grew his heart stronger, he again turned into that same stone Singh Oberoi who hardly smiled. It was finally the day of Annika and Rahul's marriage. Everything was going on smoothly when something happened which shocked the hell out of everyone. Annika broke the marriage. She realised that she didn't loved Rahul instead she loved Shivay. When Shivay distanced himself from her, she started feeling a vacuum in her life. It felt as if she is incomplete without him. Although she spent time with Rahul but her heart always thought about Shivay. And finally on the day of marriage she realised that it was Shivay whom she loved. She told it to him on the wedding itself and Shivay was just shocked. He was blank. He didn't knew if he needed to be happy for himself or sad for his brother. Simran created a scene in the wedding and blamed Shivay of manipulating Annika. She brainwashed Rahul and told him that it might be Shivay's plan to take his revenge for what their father did to his mother. Rahul broke all his relationships with Shivay the same day. He blamed him of being a deceiver and hated him since then.

Shivay was somehow very upset regarding what happened with his brother but he knew that Annika didn't do it purposely. She cried and asked him for forgiveness for breaking his brother's heart but Shivay knew one heart break was bound to happen. He knew it was not Annika's fault. Shivay told her that he loved her too, since the time she became his best friend. Annika was on cloud nine. She could not believe that Shivay loved her too. She also scolded him hard for not telling her his feeling initially but she knew he was like that only, he would give away his life for the people he loved and he sacrificed his love for her and Rahul. Eventually things started coming on track, Rahul also forgave both of them and he was the happiest when he got to know that his brother was finally getting married to Annika. Shivay was finally happy, afterall Rahul forgave him too and the feeling of guilt vanished.

It was their wedding, Shivay and Annika could not contain their happiness. Their dream was going to turn into a reality. As Annika was alone and she only had a sister who could not make it to the wedding due to her examination in London, Shivay asked his best friend Akash to be on Annika's side on the day of their wedding. He sent Akash to bring her to the venue of wedding. Akash was like his brother, he was also an orphan, he was basically the son of their servant who died and since then Akash lived with them. They grew up to be best of buddies and Sheetal, Shivay's mother loved Akash like her own son. Sheetal loved Annika and was very happy for getting a daughter in law like her.

Shivay wanted the wedding to be a very simple one so he only invited some of his really close relatives and friends in the auspicious Mandir (temple). Yash and Simran were also invited but they refused to come. Sheetal, Shivay and Rahul waited for Annika and Akash in the wedding but they didn't came. Shivay could not understand what was wrong. He continuously called them on their phone but it came to unreachable. They waited for them till night but no one came. Shivay decided to get an FIR done but something which Rahul told them tore his heart into million of parts. He told Shivay that there were great chances of Akash running away with Annika. He revealed to Shivay that he always had a doubt on Akash, the way he treated Annika made him doubt their relationship but he kept quiet because he knew Shivay won't believe him. Shivay was again broken into pieces, he could not believe that his best friend and his love deceived him in the most painful way.
He decided not to file any complaint and allowed them to flee away with each other, but he started hating both Akash and Annika since then.

It was just a week after the last incident when Shivay got to know that Akash is been murdered. Someone told him that police had recovered his body from the railway tracks. Shivay could not believe what he got to know and although he hated both Annika and Akash for doing that to him, his heart sank for Akash and Annika. He could not control his dam tears when he got to know that Akash is no more, whatever it was he loved him, he was his only best friend. His heart just got scared with the thought of someone hurting Annika too. He knew that after Akash being murdered, she would be living alone or there were real chances of her being hurt too. He could not control his love & concern for her and asked the commissioner to find some lead about Annika and her whereabouts.

Soon his efforts brought a light of hope and he got to know that Annika is hospitalised in a local hospital somewhere in the outskirts of Delhi from last one month. But the next news which he got to know just shook his existence.
*FLASHBACK ENDS*

The sudden knock on the door brought Shivay back to the senses and he realised he had been crying thinking about all those tragic as well happy moments of his life. He saw Annika still lying there, exactly the same way. He held her hands and bringing them near his lips, he kissed them saying "I love you Annika, please come back"
