From the author: Since the story wound up being very OC-oriented, it gave me time to concentrate on writing about Gustav and his family, and figure out what kind of person Gustav was.

 Gustav had it a little rough during his childhood: his parents divorced when he was only four, which meant he wound up with three younger half-sisters rather than just an older half-brother (from his father's first marriage), and I can imagine him having to go back and forth between his parents for a lot of his childhood. In his adult life, things were strained between himself and his father and stepmother, while he got along perfectly fine with his mother and stepfather, since they were the ones he grew up with. He's also on good terms with all of his siblings.

 Gustav managed to achieve his desire to be a professional quidditch player, and has been a chaser for the Nordic Team in the Quidditch World Cup for some years now.

 Though it was only briefly talked about in the story, he met and befriended Declan Malfoy (my OC from Letters To Harry) during the year of the Triwizard Tournament (Gustav attended Durmstrang). If Gustav had been a Hogwarts student, I personally think he would have been in Slytherin, since he could very ambitious and competitive.
