From the author: The title and idea for Tell Me On A Sunday comes from the song 'Tell Me On A Sunday' from the musical Song and Dance. I liked the idea of the book being a series of letters in which Caroline told Freddie why they couldn't be together in the end.

 Freddie himself is an interesting character to me whose life I don't think I wrote enough about. When he and his brother were kids, they had to hide the fact that they were witches, and could really only use their powers in their own home, which was hard for them.

 Despite being some years apart (six or seven years, I would say), Freddie and his brother were very close. When he and his wife died in a terrible car crash, Freddie took responsibility fro their daughter Lila without hesitation.

 Freddie and Lila moved to Mystic Falls when the Salvatore Boarding School for the Young and Gifted opened, because Freddie wanted his niece to have the chance to go to a school where she could be herself, which was how he met Caroline Forbes.
