 From the author: Francois is one of those characters that was in my head for a long time but took me about forever to actually write about. The Violinist was an idea that first came into my head nearly two years ago, but like with pretty much all my stories, it didn't really take shape until I actually began writing it.

 Francois was twenty-four when he and Christine married and went to America. I decided to put down that he lived to an old age, because I liked the idea of him living a long, happy life.
