After few days,  I see Monica and Lee are back in town and for the day,  Lee has come to drop the girls.

Coincidently I was also about to enter the college at that time, trying to ignore the three but I hear Carol shout my name.

"Jaackkkk....Come here"

I curse my luck, put my legs forward and move towards them.

"Hi Carol"

"Jack, this is Lee, our close friend"- She introduces.

"Well,  Hey Jack, heard about you from these girls. Whats up man"- Lee says

"Its good to meet you Lee, and good to see you Monica, after so long"

Monica smiles and decides to stay silent. On the other hand, Lee strikes a converstion with Carol.

"Well me and monica are invited at my Parent's place for a dinner tomorrow. Why don't you join us?"- Lee asks.

"Yes Carol, I would love to have you there with me"- Monica pleads.

"Umm.... I will let you guys know, for sure"

"Sure, Do give a call or confirm the same to monica. Bye!" - Lee adds.

"Yeah ! Bye !" - Carol and Monica replies.

As usual,  Monica found it awkward to stand by me so she left and went inside,
Whereas Carol began to talk.

"Jack, remember the other day, we were talking, And I told you..

"Oh my god, I am not in a place to discuss this"- I cry in inside my head

"Jack, I think I am being way too choosy,  when I discussed my feelings with you, I felt so good. At the same time I thought, I should actually take my things forward"

"Forwa...Forward?  What forward"

Jack, There is this guy- Noah, he is Lee's friend. We met, and we kind of are really good friends, I have always liked him, I don't know if does too, but one thing I know is, if he does, we are gonna be great"

Once again, I have to show myself to be happy, to pretend that I dont care, Its hard....Its soo hard, but there is nothing I can do.

"So carol, Tell me you are joining us for the dinner tomorrow. You see I am meeting my Boyfriend's parents for the first time, Its gonna be tough and awkward. I really do need a friend with me there If I mess things up, please Carol " - Mona says.

"Monica, Done thing. I was anyway gonna join you people. I would love to be there too". - Carol smiles.

"Thankyou honey, I love you"- monica hugs her.

"Anything for you" - carol replies.

My day in college did began in a  wonderful way. As I enter, I see Carol.

"JAACKKKK" - She shouts. How are you ? I am literally seeing you after 2 days. All well?

Yeah!- I reply(lie). I took 2 days off. Was bit tired. Wanted to spend few days close to my family, which honestly I never do. But I think I had a good time. What's up with you carol ?

"Well, When we met Lee's parents, I met Noah too, he was there and I thought this was universe's sign, I kind of collected my strength and asked him out. And now, We are happyly together"

"Wha...really carol. I..I am so happy for you, I.. I mean I thought.... Well never mind, Its good.

Oh.. I am getting bit late, I have to leave,  Goodbye Carol !"

Well, I wish I told her that day, before she went to dinner. I wish I had held her and stopped her to leave. I wish so many things.

This world of love is really burdensome. But at last, the only thing I know I failed, I failed that one girl, whom I really wanted.

I guess thats how the cycle of love works. You love someone, and that someone loves someone else and little do you know, Its gonna rip your heart out seeing them together, but only thing you could do is smile, smile and smile.
