Chapter Seven

I wake up, seeing a text from Blaze, and I smile.

Hey, was wondering if you wanted to hang out again today. You don't have to, but if you want to that would be great. Um yeah text me whenever.
-Blaze

I find his shyness absolutely adorable and immediately reply, happy that he wants to hang out again.

I would love to hang out today. What did you have in mind?
-Jade

Maybe we could see a movie? There is a new one playing called 'central intelligence' that I've been dying to see. U up for it?
-Blaze

I smile, I have been wanting to see that since I first saw the preview for it.

Yeah, for sure! That movie looks hilarious! What time?
-Jade

Blaze's response comes a few seconds later than it normally does so I am guessing that he is checking times.

There are three showings today, one at 12:00, another at 3:15, and one at 7:10...
-Blaze

I look at the clock quickly, only 11:00.

I can do 12:00 if that works for u?
-Jade

Yeah, absolutely. Wanna meet at the theatre?
-Blaze

Sure:) c u then!
-Jade

I quickly plug my phone into its charger seeing as its only at 43%, then proceed to get ready.

After yesterday I really saw Blaze in a new light. He isn't the terrible player badboy that I thought he was, he is so much more sweet and down to earth than I ever thought. I wouldn't say that I have feelings for him but I definitely think that this is a good start of a friendship. It just makes me feel worse that I am using him to get away from Jason.

I try not to dwell on what an awful person I am as I get ready.

I put on a pair of light blue denim capri's, as well as a black cropped halter top.

I straighten my hair and do my makeup lightly, just putting on some concealer, powder, blush, and clear gloss. I curl my eyelashes.

I am starting to wonder why looking so good matters to me as it is only Blaze. But then I assure myself it is because I need to fake date him.

Right...?

As the clock hits 11:20 and it is a fifteen minute drive, I pick up my shoes, a pair of black wedges, grab my phone and purse and hop into my car, driving to meet Blaze at the theatre.

I instantly see Blaze waiting at the doors. When I smile at how gentlemanly it is, I realize that I have smiled a lot in the past two days.

When Blaze sees me he immediately looks happier, eyes raking over my body.

"You look fantastic." He comments once I am in front of him.

"You clean up pretty nice yourself." I mention, poking him in the side.

I take in his attire, simple yet attractive. He wears a pair of jeans and a simple white shirt. Even I have to admit, he looks hot.

"Two tickets to central intelligence please." I tell the usher, handing him a twenty dollar bill.

Blaze gives me a look.

"What? You paid for ice cream, I am paying for the movies."

Blaze laughs, "only you Jade."

The usher hands me our tickets and tells us to enjoy the show.

"You want anything to eat?" Blaze asks me.

"Let's just get a popcorn and some drinks." I tell him but immediately realize how bossy it sounded, "unless you want something else."

Blaze laughs at me again, a genuine laugh, "I'm good with whatever you want. Im pretty easy going Jade, don't worry."

I smile, "good."

After asking what Blaze wants to drink, I order and pay for a large popcorn, an ice tea, and a Pepsi.

Handing Blaze his Pepsi, I carry the popcorn and my own drink, making my way to theatre 8, which is where 'central intelligence' is being shown.

Blaze follows me as we walk down the rows to the back of the theatre.

"This good?" I ask Blaze, nodding to two seats.

"Yeah." He responds, smiling at me and setting his drink in the cupholder.
"Great." I say, setting my drink down as well, and passing him the popcorn so I can sit down without spilling anything.

As I watch the previews I can't help but notice that Blaze is watching me out of the corner of his eye.

"What?" I ask, not bothering to hide the smile growing in my face as I take in the amusement in his eyes.

"Just you." He answers simply, still smiling.

I suddenly get a little worried, "what about me?"

"You're just... different."

"Is that a bad thing."

Blaze shakes his head at me, "no, not at all Jade. You are a very special girl. When I said different I meant that you're different than anyone I have ever met. I like different. Trust me, it's a very good thing."

I smile, feeling a blush creep up my cheeks.

"Good. I like being different."

"I like that you're different too."

Blaze smiles at me and I feel like he is about to lean in to kiss me, so I turn away, facing the screen. Throughout the previews I can see him stealing glances my way, but I don't want him to see me blush, so I stay facing forward.

Halfway through the movie when I finally have my blush under control and he looks my way again, I turn to face him as well, giving him a warm smile. When he smiles back, warmth floods my heart and I can feel its pace picking up.

Blaze leans in, except, he doesn't go for my lips. His mouth grazes my ear as he whispers into it.

"I like you Jade."

My eyes go wide as he pulls back, taking in my expression. My eyes lower, so all he can see are my lashes, and I bite my lower lip, determining what to say.

Finally, I lean in as well, placing my lips on his ear, I whisper, "I like you too Blaze."

Only, I can't tell if I mean it, or if it's just to put my plan into action.

And that scares the hell out of me.
