"Jason!" I whisper yell, "what are you doing here?"

"I need to talk to you!"

"You can't be here."

"No Jade," he says firmly, holding my hand, "I have to be here. I need to talk to you. Don't push me away."

"Natalie is upstairs." I tell him and yank my hand away from his grip.

"Then why are you so dressed up?" he asks, suddenly taking in my full appearance.

I am about to open my mouth to speak when I hear a car pull up. Blaze hops out, approaching the door and I mentally face palm.

"You're still with him?" Jason asks as he watches Blaze walk up my driveway.

"Um, hey Jason." Blaze says, approaching the two of us with a somewhat puzzled look on his face.

This is it, I think, this is how Blaze will find out and my life will be over.

"Jason?" Natalie asks, coming down the stairs.

Oh great.

"What are you doing here?"

Suddenly my hear rate shoots up and my eyes go wide. I just want to crawl in a hole and die right now.

"I uh I came to talk to Jade."

Natalie's eyes dart to mine and they look surprised and hurt.

"We are planning your birthday party. It was supposed to be a surprise. Jade didn't tell me that she had a date though."

Oh. My. Gosh.

A cement block has just been lifted off my shoulders and I mentally thank Blaze for thinking quickly. But then I curse him for even coming in the first place.

Natalie's eyes are suddenly full of relief and I can't even imagine what she had been thinking.

"Oh really? You two are the sweetest!"

I laugh a little under my breath, "you ready to go?" I ask, turning my attention to Blaze to break the awkwardness.

"Yeah."

"Okay. Bye guys. See you later!" I smile and wave at Natalie before squeezing past Jason and taking Blaze's hand in mine, walking to the car.

"You look absolutely gorgeous Jade." Blaze tells me once we are in the car.

My heart rate has finally settled and now it is just minor shock that is passing by.

"Thank you," I reply, "you clean up pretty well yourself."

Blaze laughs, "so... surprise party, huh?"

Great. Another lie I have to keep from him.

"Yeah. We are just in the beginning phases of planning it but I hope she likes it. I mean, it's not that big of a surprise I guess because we plan eachothers every year but the planning goes as a surprise I guess."

"That's really sweet that you do that for eachother. If you need it I would love to help out?"

Oh gosh. Now I have to plan with Jason and Blaze at the same time. That is bound to be awkward.

"Yeah. If you don't mind that would be great."

"I would love to!"

"Thanks Blaze."

"So how long have you and Nat been friends?" he asks.

I smile, "oh gosh. So long. I don't think I can remember a time when Nat and I weren't friends."

Blaze pulls at the collar of his shirt, "that's really great." he says but he appears to be nervous. Even sweating a little bit.

"Yeah ... are you okay Blaze?"

"Jade, I have to tell you something. Please don't be mad it was a long time ago. I had really forgotten all about it, but seeing her today made me remember. Gosh, Jade I am so sorry."

I begin to get really nervous for some reason, "w-what is it?" I ask.

Blaze intakes a sharp breath before telling me.

"Natalie and I made out, like hard, at a party one time. It almost went further. I almost had sex with her Jade. Gosh, I am so so sorry. If I had known I would be with you know and have these feelings for you I would have never done that. Hell, I wouldn't have been with any other girl. I am truly so sorry. I just really wanted you to know. I don't want there to be any secrets between us."

I start laughing, "Blaze I know that. Nat and I don't have any secrets. She has told me that. As for all of the other girls it's fine. I know that was who you were, but it's not anymore. People make mistakes, they have pasts. I'm not going to judge you for that."

Blaze takes a deep breath of relief, "thank you. It still doesn't change how sorry I am or how much I regret that."
"Just knowing how sorry you are and how much you regret it is what makes me know how much you have changed and that that you is in the past."

Blaze smiles at me but says no more, as we have finally pulled up to our destination.

My eyes go wide and a smile makes it's way onto my face. "We're going to the amusement park?" I ask.

"You mentioned once that you love this place. That every year your father would take you and you wouldn't leave until you rode on the ferris wheel. So I thought you would like to come here. With me."

I smile, loving the fact that he remembered that tiny detail I had shared about myself amongst many.

Blaze comes around to my side of the car and opens the door for me. He takes my hand and helps me up. I fall into him, hugging him tightly. "Thank you." I whisper.

"You're welcome baby girl."

After hours of going on rides and eating way too much cotton candy that has caused quite the stomach ache we finally end up making our way to the ferris wheel, which Blaze insisted that we go on last.

"Two tickets please." The man at the gate tells us.

The man checks the tickets Blaze has handed him and waves his arm, motioning for us to go through the gate.

I smile giddily as we get on the ferris wheel. Blaze takes my hand looking excited as the man comes around to close the cage. We get lifted into the air and I stare in awe at our surroundings. The city looks incredible. It is dark out and all you can see are the dim lights here and there.

"It's beautiful." I whisper, taking it all in.

"Yes. Beautiful." Blaze comments and I turn back to find him staring at me. I blush and smile at him.

"Thank you," I whisper against his lips, "for taking me here. For remembering what I had told you. Thank you. I love it." I love you. I almost add but think against it. Tonight has made me realize that I am in love with Blaze. The way he looks at me, the way he thought to take me here. Everything he does. I had been scared to admit it but I am in love with the badboy who is so much more than the badboy. To me, he is just Blaze.

"I'm glad you love it." he tells me before capturing my lips in a kiss.

I respond immediately, kissing him passionately. My arms wrap around his neck and his hands rest on my sides. He bites my bottom lip gently, asking for permission to deepen the kiss which I grant within seconds.

We pull away breathlessly, our lips and foreheads still touching.

"Thank you." I whisper again to him.

"No problem baby girl." he smirks.

Once our ride on the ferris wheel is over, we notice people slowly leaving, meaning that the fair is closing. I carry my giant stuffed panda which Blaze had won me to his car. We silently get in and the engine roars to life.

"So you liked it then?" Blaze asks me, pulling out of the fairgrounds.

"I loved it." I correct him, smiling.

"The wait was worth it?"

"Totally."

"So will there be a second date?" he asks smugly.

"Slow down there buddy, I'm only just starting to like you."

Blaze looks at me confusedly.

"I'm just joking," I laugh, "of course there will be a second date."

Blaze instantly relaxes, smiling as well.

"Oh I love this song!" I say excitedly, turning up the music to Calvin Harris' 'this is what you came for'. I sing along to it, moving to the music as best as I can in my seat. Halfway through the song I hear Blaze laugh and I suddenly remember he is in the car. I turn to look at him and instantly stop singing, my cheeks flushed.

"You can really sing." he comments.

"You know I hate sarcasm."

"I'm not being sarcastic. You can really sing. It's incredible Jade."

I blush and stay quiet. Sensing there is a reason for my silence, Blaze speaks up.

"Why didn't you tell me you could sing?"

"Because I don't sing in front of anyone. It was mine and my dad's thing. He would play guitar and I would sing along. When he died I just stopped. I wouldn't sing for anyone, not even Nat." I confess.

"Then why did you sing for me?" he asks, puzzled.

"You make me feel comfortable. You make me feel like the old me, the person I was when I still had my dad. I guess I wanted to share that with you."

Blaze smiles, "well I'm glad you did. Your voice is truly amazing Jade. Thank you."

"No. Thank you."

We are silent for a little while before Blaze talks again, "so when am I going to know more things about you?"

"Stick around," I tell him, "there is definitely more coming."

"I'd like that." he tells me.

"So would I."
