👁 Ep.7: Society Of The Blind Eye 👁

~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~
Dipper, Leo, and I were up in the attic. Dip had pulled up a cardboard chart that he had made a while back, where he would try and decipher who the author of the journal was, though he had barely made any progress with it. Leo was playing around with a small orb he had made while I sat upside down on Pinetree's bed.
He stared at the board, eyes narrowed as he chewed on his pen. "Alright, author, who are you? Who.. are.. you..?" He ended up breaking the pen, making the ink spread all over his mouth, and he wiped it off as I laughed.
Leo looked over. "That's like the fifth pen today, man."
Letting out a sigh, Dipper threw the pen into the trash can. Just then, Mabel ran inside and hopped onto Dipper's bed beside me, a bright smile on her face as she raised an old paper. "Hey, guys! Look what I got~!"
Dipper raised an eyebrow. "Yay, a dirty used paper."
"It's a bottle message from my Sev'ral Timez people, remember?!" She let out a gasp, her smile growing. "What if they wanna come back to me?!"
I turned around o sit up normally, a little worried. "I wouldn't get your hopes up, M."
"Too late, hopes are way way up!!!" She unrolled the note, and began to read. "'Dear Mabel,' so far so good!! 'It is with a heavy heart', so far so good!! 'That we must inform you, we're moving away'?!"
Dipper cringed a bit. "And there it is."
"'Becoming a new band', 'moving to Europe', 'probably be gone for ten years'?! And they're writing a new album!! This can't be happening!!!"
"It's alright, Mabel, you'll get over them eventually.." I replied, trying to make her feel a little better.
"You don't understand, guys!" She took out her scrapbook and opened it on a certain page. "On my first day here, I made this page for summer romances, and look at my luck! Turned out to be gnomes, child psycho, made out if his own hands, and now..." She placed the picture of the boy band down, then wrote 'Failed' above it. "I wish I could just forget about them forever..."
I noticed Leo's expression fall a little, letting his orb float in the air as he sat beside Mabel, placing a hand on her shoulder. "Ah, cheer up, Mabel.. I'm sure there's someone out there who..-"
She wrapped him in a sudden hug, his cheeks growing pink at the action as he cried a bit. "No! Every boy I've ever liked always rejects me!"
There was a gloomy expression on Leo's face, one where I could tell those words had stung him, but he comforted her no less. Sometimes I think Mabel's a little too oblivious to her actions.
Dipper quickly changed the subject. "Hey, if it's any consolation my summer mission isn't a huge success either. I'm still trying to find the author of this journal, but with this laptop smashed we've lost any lead in finding them!"
I stood up, stretching my arms with a yawn before I looked back over, my eyes landing on the orb Leo had made. Or, more specifically, what I could see through the orb. I let out a smal gasp as I saw words carved into the side of the laptop. "Guys, look!"
Handing the orb to Dipper, his eyes widened as he read the words. "McGucket Labs? Wait, Old Man McGucket?!?"
Mabel looked over. "You don't think..!"
"It couldn't be.. It doesn't make any sense! Unless..." He began to move pictures, pins, and string around the board, muttering many things to himself as his mind wondered around, soon pulling back. "So then that would mean... Old Man McGucket wrote the journal?!?"
"We need to go check!"
At my words, we all ran downstairs, Dipper running to the others. "Wendy, Soos, we need to go see Old Man McGucket!!!"
"We'll explain on the way!!!" Mabel added as she started dragging Wendy, and we all ran outside to the car. We needed to see if this was true!
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
We reached the junkyard where he old man lived. It was already pretty dark outside, which didn't help with the creepy atmosphere, but we continued searching for him as we yelled his name.
"Old Man McGucket, are you here?!?"
"Hello?!?"
"Here, hillbilly billy billy billy!!!"
We heard laughing, and turned to see Wendy's friend Lee and Nate spray painting the side of a tiny building. "Took an hour to think of this, but it was worth it!"
Nate smiled at Lee in agreement before they high fived, only for McGucket to run out with a glare. The two teens started to run away as they laughed, McGucket chasing them for only a bit. "Get outta here, you salt lickin', hornswagglin'!!!" He looked at the spray paint, looking down in shame. "Mc Suck It, they got me good..."
He finally turned to us, his eyes lighting up. "Visitors!!!"
And just like that, he let us inside of his home. "Come, come, pull up some rusty medal!!! You're just in time for my hourly turf war with the hillbilly what lives in ma mirror!!! Quit staring at me when I bathe!!!" He yelled that last part while glaring at his reflection.
Dipper only glared, taking out his journal. "You can drop the act, McGucket, I know you're the author; you studies the mysteries of this town and wrote this book!"
I took out the laptop from my bag. "Dude, you're the genius Dipper's been searching for all summer!"
However, he scratched his head as he stared at us with confusion. "Eh, genius? I'm not genius. I've never done nothing worth while in my life. Everyone knows I'm no good to nobody. I can't remember what I use to be, but I must've been a big failure to end up like this.."
Soos tilted his head. "But the laptop has your name on it!"
"What about this book? Are you sure you didn't write it? Here, look closely!" Dipper began flipping through the pages.
McGucket just kept staring with the same confused glance. "I told you I don't recall. Everything before 1982 is all a blur. Just a hazy..." We were all started when he began to scream at a certain page in pure fear, backing away. "The Blind Eye, robes, the men, my mind, they did something!!!"
"Who did?!?"
"I-... Oh, I don't recall...!!!"
Mabel placed a hand over her heart. "Oh, you poor old man...!!! No wonder your mind's all.." She blew a raspberry. "You've been through something intense.."
Leo bit the tip of his thumb in thought. "What if McGucket learned something he wasn't supposed to know and someone, or something, messed with his mind?"
"It seems possible.." I added. "We need to get to the bottom of this."
Dipper looked back at McGucket. "Think, what is the earliest thing you can remember?"
He began to look around, and then showed us a flyer. "Uh, this is, I think."
"The history museum!" Wendy pointed out.
Dipper gave us a nodded. "Then that's where we're going."
And so, we drove to the museum, taking McGucket along with us. Along the way, some popular song (which was super annoying) was on. Wendy was so annoyed she threw Soos's disc out, the rest of us laughing as the scene played in front of us.
Once at the museum, we were able to sneak in through the window, and began to look around. Dipper then turned to face us, his expression serious. "Alright, keep your eyes pilled for anything suspicious."
That's when I heard Mabel let out a sigh, making me look over. "Mabel, are you okay?"
"Yeah, you just walked by a cat without petting it." Wendy added as she walked beside me.
"Oh girls, everything I look reminds me of my failed romances! That formaldehyde heart, that romantic diorama, even this poster of my most resent ex-crush!" She yanked out the poster of Gabe Benson, which only revealed a poster of Sev'ral Timez. "Ah, c'mon!!!"
I noticed Leo's shoulders tense up, though his back was facing us. This seriously bothered him, I could tell that too well..
Placing a hand on her shoulder, I smiled. "Chin up, M, I think I know one boy who really likes you.."
"If he likes me, then why won't he tell me already..?!" She looked at me for answers, but it wasn't a question meant for me.
Not everyone is as outgoing as you are, Mabel. Leo's probably just afraid of rejection. Especially now that you've made it clear he's just a friend.
Dipper soon turned to the old man. "So your last memory was here. Anything coming back?"
"Guys, look!!! Soos pointed a finger at a mysterious cloaked figure, which started to run away almost immediately, and we all began to chase after as fast as we could.
However, we all stopped when we entered a really disturbing room. Most of the thinks inside were eyeballs, or things that had eyeballs drawn on then. The sight of it made my blood run cold, feeling as if I kept being stared at..
McGucket looked around in surprise. "Well, kettle my corn, he vanishified!!!"
"It doesn't make sense! Where did he go?!" Dipper began to walk around.
A shudder want up my spine, slightly gripping my gloves. "Jeez, I feel like everything here's watching me.."
"Wait!" Dipper looked around once more, then back at me. "There are! Move aside!"
I did as told, taking a step away as Dipper walked over to where I stood, a stone with the same eye symbol carved into it sticking out of the wall. I glanced over at me, and I gave a nod. He gave the stone a small glare, slowly pushing it back, and we were all startled when the fireplace revealed a passageway.
"Jackpot!!!" Wendy explained.
"Nicely done, PT!" I ruffled Dipper's hair, his cheeks a bit pink as he let out a chuckle.
McGucket peeked into the passageway. "We all have to be stealthy, I'll hambone a message if there's trouble!!!" He patted around a few times.
We all shared a glance, Leo raising an eyebrow. "None of us know what that means."
Cautiously, we headed down the passageway and hid behind some curtains, a chilling mist filling the air. We saw a group of people, all dressed in red robes that covered their entire body, including their faces; all surrounding a treasure chest, chanting something and being an obvious cult.
That's when a new person was dragged in and placed on a chair, their face covered, and one of the club members spoke. "Who is the subject of our meeting?"
Two other members pulled off the bag that covered their faces, revealing a confused Lazy Susan, and we were unable to look away out of shock as they tied her up on the chair.
"What is it that you have seen?"
"Speak!" The others chanted after the one I assumed to be their leader asked the question.
Lazy Susan looked around for a bit. "Uh, well uh, yeah, I was leaving the diner and I see these- these little bearded doodads and I was like: Whaaa?!?"
"There there." The leader pulled out some sort of pistol from chest in front of them. "You won't be like 'Wha?' for much longer."
We grew even more tense when they ll tightened their robes, Lazy Susan tilting her head at the sight of the gun. "What is that gizmo? It looks like a hair dryer! Are you guys barbers?"
I had to cover my mouth to stop myself from screaming as they shot the gun at Susan, though it didn't have any bullets, just a weird blue electric wave that still made her scream none the less, all of us staring in horror.
The leader stood in front of her. "Lazy Susan, what do you know of little bearded men?"
"My mind is clear thanks to the Society of the Blind Eye." Her voice was robotic, her gaze empty, as if she wasn't there anymore.
The cult raised their arms. "It is unseen!!!"
Dipper turned to us, whispering. "Oh my gosh, they erased Lazy Susan's memory!"
Soos simply chuckled. "They should've wiped off that awful mascara!"
"I think she looks beautiful!!!"
"She's doing the best she can, Soos!!!" Mabel and Wendy yelled with glares.
Soos quickly shrunk. "Whoa! Touched a nerve there..!"
Leo quickly shushed them as the cult leader spoke again. "Lazy Susan, how do you feel?"
"I feel great!!! I can't even remember what was wrong!!! Or what I'm going here!!! Or if I'm a man or a woman!!!" She spoke as they took her away.
"Oh, your memories will be safe with us." He took out the tube from the pistol, then wrote (Lazy) Susan Wentworth on the glass of it. "In the Hall of The Forgotten."
"Into the hall of the forgotten!!! Into the hall of the forgotten!!!"
The leader placed the tube inside another tube which sent somewhere else we couldn't see. "Great chanting, boys! Have you been practicing? Meeting adjourned."
They all left, letting us come out of our hiding spot to look around.  Dipper and I immediately went to look at the gun from before, muttering under my breath. "A secret society of mind erasers..?"
Dipper turned to McGucket. "I bet they erased your memory a long time ago! If we could find where your memories have been hidden it could be the key to unlocking all the mysteries of Gravity Falls! Alright, Mabel, (y/n), Wendy, you three stay here and make sure those robe guys don't come back."
"Woo, girls club!!!" Wendy ruffled our hair with a smile.
"The rest of us will go find the Hall of the Forgotten."
Soos let out a scream as the tube from before sucked his hat it, Dipper narrowing his eyes. "Follow that hat!!!"
And with that, they left. All of the surprises had taken a huge chunk of my energy, so I was thankful Dipper didn't add me to the search party. However, as more time passed, I noticed Mabel was a lot more gloomier than before, which seriously worried me.
She then let out a sigh. "I just don't get it, girls... I hug a lot, I can burp the alphabet, I have scratchy stuff clothing, why does every boy leave me..?"
"Psh, who cares? Boys are the worst." Wendy answered. "You shouldn't get hung up."
"But (y/n) got a boyfriend, so why is it different for me..?!"
I cringed a bit, did the fact that Dipper and I were dating make her feel even worse about herself..?
She began to twirl a strand of her hair around. "Maybe I come on to strong, you know..?"
"Well, what's your opener?" Wendy put her hat back on, sticking her long hair inside to make it seem like she had very short hair, and a strand over her lip to make it seem like she had a thick mustache. "Mmm, testosterones."
She spit to the ground, and I laughed at the scene.
Mabel inhaled sharply. "HI, IM MABEL!!! IM TWELVE AND OWN A PIG!!! WANNA GET MARRIED?!?"
"Minus the marriage part, that was honestly perfect." I answered.
Wendy took off her hat, letting her hair fall back down into place. "You should just forget about guys, man."
"Wendy, that's it!! Forget about guys!!" She ran over to the ray gun from before, Wendy and I chasing after her as she picked it up. "I just need to type summer romances into this thing and I won't feel bad about them anymore!!"
I quickly grew nervous. "What?! No way! We have no idea how this thing even works!"
Wendy nodded, agreeing with me. "Yeah, you could accidentally like learning to read, or breathe or-!"
"Or one of those terrible summer songs you can't get out of your head~?" Mabel smiled innocently, Wendy staying silent for a while.
Mabel then typed Summer Romances into the weird gun, and I bit my lip as thoughts of this going wrong zoomed through my head. "M, I'm still not so sure about this, do you really think it's a good idea..?"
"All ideas are good ideas!!!" She was about to shoot herself with the ray gun when a beeping noise started to echo in the room, all of us looking around.
That's when I felt a sharp sting on my neck and the whole room started becoming blurry, and then there was nothing but darkness around me.
Not too long had passed by when I started waking up again, at least, I don't think much time passed. However, when I tried to move, something had bound my arms to my sides, and I noticed that all of us were tied to a wooden pole, the weird cult people surrounding us.
I can easily cut the ropes loose, but would that make things worse? If they learned I had magic, that could just get someone seriously hurt, so I chose to wait and see what happened.
The leader ended up snatching McGucket's memory tube from Dipper. "You shouldn't have come here. We do not give up our secrets lightly."
Wendy glared at them. "Who are you bathrobe wearing freaks?!?"
"Why are you doing this?!?" Dipper yelled.
Mabel simply tilted her head curiously. "And what's with your creepy British accent?!?"
The leader gave a shrug. "Well, I suppose we are going to erase your minds anyways."
One by one, the cult members all began to take off their hoods, our eyes widening as we recognized all of them.
"Toby Determined?!?"
"Bud Gleeful?!?"
"That farmer guy?!?"
"Tattoos?!?"
"Creepy dude who married a woodpecker?!? You too?!? How's that marriage going, by the way?" Soos asked last with a smiled.
"Oh great, great!" He leaned closer, whispering. "Not great..!"
"And you've never met before. And if you had you wouldn't remember!"
The leader finally took off his hood, revealing a bald man was bald with many tattoos all over his scalp; he had a black eye and a red one, and a big x scar in the red eye.
"I am Blind Ivan, and we are the Society of The Blind Eye! Formed many years ago by our founder-... our founder-... does anyone remember who he was?"
No one replied, and Bud let out an awkward chuckle. "We've been using that ray on our own brains an awful lot!"
Leo struggled against the ropes. "But why would you do all this?!? What do you have to gain?!?"
"As you have no doubt discovered.." He looked up in thought, starting to explain.
"Gravity Falls is a plague with supernatural strangeness. No one knew how to stop the things that went bump in the night. So our founder invented our next best thing: a way for us to forget. We took it upon ourselves to help the troubled townsfolk by erasing the memories of the strange things they've seen. Now the people of Gravity Falls go about their lives ignorant and happy, thanks to us. And as a perk, we help ourselves forget thins that trouble us. Everyone has something they'd rather forget. In fact, your own sister was about to use that ray on herself! Isn't that right?"
Dipper looked at his twin. "Mabel?!? Seriously?!?"
She let out a nervous laugh, looking away. "Maybe..?"
I growled in anger. "Don't you see?!? This is ruining lives!!! What about Old Man McGucket?!? He lives in a hut and talks to animals thanks to you!!! Don't you feel bad about that?!?"
"Mmm, maybe a little." Ivan quickly zapped his head with the ray gun, smirking. "But not anymore. You won't be telling anyone else about what you've learned here. Say goodbye to your summer."
He began to type Summer Memories into the ray gun, all of us beginning to panic as I quickly tried to get my hands to touch each other for the right spell.
Soos looked at us nervously. "Oh, guys, if we're gonna forget everything I got some stuff I want to get off my chest! Mabel, for half the summer I thought your name was Maple, like the syrup! No one corrected me!!"
Mabel continued. "I only love some of my stuffed animals and the guilt is killing me!!!"
"Sometimes I use big words and I don't actually know what they mean!!! I mean I'm supposed to be the smart guy!!! If I'm not the smart guy, who am I?!?" Dipper added.
I continued to get my hands to touch. "Okay some of you already know, but I'm actually not human, I have magic of my own!!!"
"Well I'm not actually laid back!!! I'm stressed like 24/7!!! Have you met my family?!?" Wendy added.
We all looked at Leo expectingly, waiting for him to let something out as his eyes shifted around, eventually landing on Mabel. He then bit his lip, his eyes tightly closing.
"Mabel, I actually really really like you!! I have for a while now!!"
Ivan then pointed the ray gun at Leo, who's eyes widened as the man rolled his eyes. "Oh, stop being a bunch of babies. Say goodbye to what you know."
However, something suddenly hit the back of his head, forcing him to drop the ray gun as he yelled in pain, McGucket running over.
"McGucket!!!"
I finally felt my fingers finally touch, and after muttering a quick spell, the ropes were cut, all of us standing up. "Sorry it took a while."
McGucket dragged over a small cart. "I raided the mining display for weapons!!! Now fight like a hillbilly, fellers!!!"
We all got weapons, I could easily use my powers to make my weapon stronger, and we were angrier than anything, we could easily take these assholes down.
Ivan glared at all of us. "They know to much!!! Don't let them escape!!!"
We all made a good team, looking after each other's backs and fighting with all of our might. The fight then went to trying to keep McGucket's memory tube on our side, and as I tried to fight off the others, I noticed Dipper fighting with Ivan for the tube.
He made Dipper trip and fall, pointing the ray gun at him, and I felt my blood run cold as I tried to make my way over.
Ivan smirked. "End of the line! By tomorrow this will all seem like a bad dream! Say goodbye to your precious memories!!!"
"NO!!!" He covered himself, and I was almost there, but I stopped in my tracks at a sight.
McGucket now stood in front of Dipper, getting shot at by the ray gun as he stood in place.
Dipper's eyes widened. "McGucket.. You took a bullet for me..!"
Ivan shot the old man again, Dipper letting out a gasp. "Oh my gosh, are you okay?!?"
"Okay as I'll ever be!!!" He began to laugh as he walked over to Ivan, and I ran to help Dipper up.
Ivan kept shooting between his words, starting to panic as McGucket kept walking over with a smile. "Why, isn't, this, working?!?"
"Hit me with your best shot, baldie!!! But my mind's been gone for thirty odd years!!! You can't break what's already broken!!!" Laughing some more, McGucket slapped the ray gun away and grabbed Ivan by his shoulders. "Say good night, sally!!!" And head butted the man in the head, knocking him out.
Dipper took the ray, and we all tied the cult members up just as they did to us before.
Ivan struggled against the ropes, glaring at us. "Unhand us!!!"
"Isn't so fun being tied up, is it?" Mabel pulled out a permanent marker with a wide smile. "Hey, wanna draw on their faces?!"
"What?!?"
"Lalala!!!" Mabel covered up Knowledge and wrote Butts as she laughed.
Ivan growled. "That's not funny!!!"
But we were all laughing so much our stomachs hurt, Dipper smiling. "It's a little funny!"
"It's objectively funny!" Soos corrected.
"We'll have our revenge, we'll never forget what you've done!!!"
I looked at Dipper with a small smirk. "Oh, I think you just might~"
He typed something into the ray gun, then pointed it at the cult members. "Say cheese~!"
They all struggled against the ropes saying No repeatedly, but we just ignored them as Dipper erases their memories of this entire cult.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Thanks for visiting the museum for Gold Miner Appreciation Night!" Dipper smiled we stood outside the Museum entrance as the ex-cult members walked out and left.

I placed my hands on my hips. "Be sure to tip the gold miner on your way out!"

Ivan was the last to leave, and he then turned to us with a confused expression. "I'm sorry, but... what's my name? Where am I?"

Pinetree and I exchanged a glance as he spoke. "Oh, might've overdone that one...."

Mabel quickly stepped in. "Your name is Toot-toot McBumbersnazzle!! You're a traveling banjo minstrel with a song in your heart and funny tattoos on your head!!"

He took the banjo that Mabel offered, then smiled. "Yes, I am Toot-toot McBumbersnazzle! Cheers!" And left as he played his new instrument and sung.

I noticed Leo standing a few trees away, leaning against it as he stared at nothing, arms crossed as he gripped his sleeves, his expression quickly screaming embarrassment. Gently nudging Mabel's arm, I nodded over to him. "Hey, I think someone's in need of some Mabel charm.."

Her cheeks grew a bit pink as she looked over, but soon smiled and run over to him.

I myself moved a little closer so I could hear everything clearly. I mean, what was I gonna do? Not spy on two of my best friends as they finally got together after many weeks of me wanting them to end up together? You better believe I'm spying on them.

She stopped next to him, poking his shoulder. "I like to stare at nothing too sometimes, then everything turns into candy."

Leo jumped a little, looking down at her, his face red as he remembered what happened earlier. "Oh, h-heh.."

His arms lowered about, one hand gripping his other rest as his eyes looked around the floor, thinking of what to say. "... L-Look, Mabel.. about what I said earlier, I don't want it to stay in the air if it makes things awkward between us.."

Mabel blew a raspberry, moving her hand in a dismissive manner. "Leo, you are talking to the queen of avoiding awkward situations."

He chuckled a little, rubbing the back of his neck. "Maybe not avoiding, but you do know how to handle it.."

"Plus, I really really like you too."

"E-eh?" He looked back up, even darker than before, to which she laughed a bit. "But you've liked so many other guys and.. well, I just thought you.."

"Leo, I didn't hit on you because you were going through a tough time. I mean, you had just left from the pool you'd been living in for months, your leg and winds had to heal, you were reuniting with your old friend, and you were getting used to this new life you had, I understand that!"

He didn't reply, but I could see the smile grew on his face. "That's.. really mature of you, M.. Thank you.."

"Yep! That's me! Super grown-up!" She then smiled brightly, holding up the same marker from before. "Hey, you wanna help me vandalize all of those puppet show posters later?!"

He laughed. "Sure."

A few seconds passed where no words we exchanged, and when Leo looked back down at her, Mabel was already on her toes, placing a quick kiss on his lips.

I had to grip Dipper's hand to make sure I didn't squeal in happiness. I might've broke his hand....

Mabel pulled away with a squeal, jumping up and down. "I had my first kiss!!!"

Leo was frozen in place, his face so red I didn't even know it was scientifically possible, until Mabel wrapped him in a tight hug, finally smiling and hugging her back.

For one heck of a day, this made me so happy!

After a while, we went back down to where everything happened, all standing around a computer where we could see the lost memories.

Dipper turned to the old man. "Alright, McGucket, are you ready to see your memories? To find out who you really are?"

"I... I'm not so sure, what if I don't like what I see...?"

Mabel gave a warm smile. "We've come all this way, go on!"

Hesitating a bit, he walked over to the computer and placed the memory tube in place, making the monitor turn on.

On the tv was a young man with similar features, staring at the camera with a serious expression. "My name is Fiddleford Hadron McGucket and I wish to unsee what I have seen."

All of us gasping at the sound of his name, McGucket only leaned closer. "Sweet sarsaparilla..!"

"For the past year I have been working as assistant for a visiting researcher. He has been cataloging his findings about Gravity Falls in a series of journals. I helped him build a machine which he believed had the potential to benefit all mankind, but something went wrong! I decided to quit the project, but I lay awake at night haunted by the thoughts of what I've done. I believe I have invented a machine that can permanently erase these memories from my mind. Test subject one: Fiddleford."

He used the day gun on himself, and the tv showed showed some static before the next clip.

"It worked!!! I can't recall a thing!!!"

-static-

"I call it the Society of The Blind Eye!!! We will help those who want to forget by erasing their bad memories!!!"

-static-

"Today I came across a colony of little men, very disturbing! I would like to forget seeing this."

-static-

"I accidentally hit another car in town today!!! I feel terribible!!! T-t-terrible!!! I've been forgetting words lately, I wonder if there are any negative side effects side effects.."

-static-

"I saw something in the lake, something big!!!"

-static-

"My hair's been falling out so I got this hat from a scarecrow!!! Hey, are my pants on backwards?!?"

-static-

The final clip showed the McGucket we currently know, yelling words with no meaning at the screen before making a triangle over his eye, then the tv turned off.

We all stared at the tv in shock, none of us knowing what to say or how to act.

Mabel was the first to speak, giving him a look of worry. "Oh McGucket, I'm so sorry..."

To our surprise though, he took the memory tube back and turned to us with a genuine smile. "Aw, hush, you kids help me get my memories back just like you said!"

I gave a small shrug. "But... did you want those memories back...?"

"After all these years, I finally know who I am! Maybe I messed up in the past, but now that I've seen what happens I can finally put myself together again!" He placed the tube inside his beard, then hamboned another message.

Leo smiles awkwardly. "Still don't know what that means."

"So wait, you weren't the author but you worked with him! Do you remember who he was?" Dipper asked.

McGucket scratched his chin in thought. "It's beginning to come back, but I need more time. And readin' glasses, heck!" He took some glasses and put them on, some glass falling off it, then spit in a bucket. "I got some remembering to do!"

Wendy then turned to Mabel. "So, Mabel, do you still want to erase those failed summer romances?"

She shook her head with a smile: "You know, no one likes having bad memories, but maybe it's better to remember the bad things and learn from them than to go all de-nile crazy trying to forget. And besides!" She hugged Leo's arm, his cheeks growing pink as she snuggled against his shoulder. "One of them was a total success.."

He smiled a bit, resting his head on hers. "Yeah.."

Wendy gave a smile. "That's some mature junk right there, Mabel."

"Yep, Miss Mature! That's why Leo and are gonna vandalize some stuff later!"

After a good laugh, we all went home. I let myself fall on my bed with a heavy sigh, Aiden snuggled against my stomach like the cute little beaver he is, and I stared up at the ceiling, my thoughts starting to wander.

There was this odd feeling in my chest, as if.. something bad was on its way..

Something.. world ending..

I sat up, placing Aiden beside me on the bed and looking down at my gloves. Hesitating a little, I took them off, seeing the Cipher Zodiac that was engraved into both of my arms.

I've had these since the start of my life, and I've never been able to get rid of them, no matter how many spells and potions I've used. And recently they started.. glowing and itching a bit.. It's worrying me..

Looking directly at the Bill in the Cipher Zodiac, I gave a small glare.

"What are you planning this time.."

Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!

❤️❤️❤️
