🔮Ep.4: The Hand That Rocks The Mabel🔮

~~~~~~~~~Dipper's POV~~~~~~~~~
Mabel, Soos, and I were in the living room watching this awesome show called Tiger Fist at the time.
"The tiger was badly injured in the explosion but we repaired him with a fist." We all cheered as the tv announced the show. Man was it cool!
"Tiger Fist will return after these messages."
Soos then pointed at the tv. "Hey look, is that commercial I was telling you guys about."
"Are you completely miserable?" Oh boy, what is this? "Then you need to meet... Gideon...!!!"
"Gideon?" I asked, tilting my head.
Mabel looked at me. "What makes him so special?"
As if hearing us, the person in the comercial spoke again. "He's a psychic!"
"Aru?" Mabel resounded, sounding like a weird puppy.
"Don't waste your time with other so called 'Man of Mystery.' Learn about tomorrow tonight at Gideon's tent of telepathy!!!" Then the credits showed up.
A bright smile grew on Mabel's face. "Wow, I'm getting all curious-y inside!"
"Well don't get too curious-y." Stan said as he walked inside. "Ever since that monster Gideon rolled into town I've had nothing but trouble."
Mabel looked at our grunkle. "Is he really a psychic?!?"
"I think we should go and find out!" I said with a determined smile.
But of course, Stan didn't like that one bit. "Never! You're forbidden from patronizing the competition! No one that lives under my roof is aloud under that ... Gideon's roof."
"Do tents have roofs?" I asked.
"I think we just found our loophole!" Mabel pulled out a small piece of string with a loop. "Literally! Muap muap!"
"So come down soon, folks! Gideon's expecting you...!"
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
And so later on we go to Gideon's Tent of Telepathy. As we sat down, I got a strange feeling up my spine that I did NOT like...
"Woah, this is like a bizarro version of the Mystery Shack." I said as I looked around. "They even have their own Soos!" We all looked at a man who was similar to Soos, Deuce written on its name tag.
"I know, creepy, right?" I turned to see (y/n) walking over to us.
Mabel waved at her with joy. "Hi (y/n)!!!"
"Hey guys! I didn't expect to see you here."
"It was sort of a last minute decision." I said with a shrug, making her chuckle a bit.
"I was planning on coming here with my mom, but she's busy with work. Plus I always get a good laugh at this show. Mind if I join you guys?"
"Not at all."
"It's starting! It's starting!!!" Mabel repeated in excitement, all of us sitting down.
"Let's see what this monster looks like."
The lights go dark and the stage lights up showing a big silhouette of a person. The curtains open showing a kid about our age, possible younger, with hair bigger than its entire head.
"Hello America! My name's Lil' Gideon!" He clapped his hands as doves flew out of his hair.
The crowd cheered for him, but I just stared in confusion. "That's Stan's mortal enemy?"
"But he's so wittle!" Mabel coed.
"And doves in his hair? That's unsanitary." (y/n) added.
We looked back at Gideon. "Ladies and gentlemen, it is such a gift to have you here tonight! Such a gift! I have a vision. I predict you'll soon all say 'Aww!!!'" He looked at his audience as he gave a pose with puppy eyes, a finger over his mouth, the crowd doing as he told.
"It came true!!!" Mabel said, her hands over her cheeks.
I crossed my arms. "What? I'm not impressed."
"It's true that his magic is awful, but c'mon, his attempts are hilarious." We both laughed at her sentence.
"Hit it, dad!" As said, his father started playing an upbeat tune on the piano. Oh boy...
"Oh I can see
what others can't see.
It ain't some sideshow trick,
it's innate ability!
Where others are blind
I am futurely inclined!
And you too can see
if you were wittle ol' me!
C'mon everybody, rise up! I want y'all to keep it going!!"
We all stood up, which was really odd because I didn't want to. "How did he-?!?" I looked at (y/n) was just as confused as I was.
"Keep it going!" He first pointed at a lady with many cats. "You wish your son would call you more."
"I'm leaving everything to my cats!"
He then pointed at Sheriff Blubs who has a lot of Gideon merchandise. "I sense that you've been here before."
"What gave it away?!?"
I rolled my eyes. I can't believe people actually buy all this junk.
He then walked over to my sister. "I'll read your mind if I'm able.
Something tells me you're named Mabel!" With that, he want back to the stage, Mabel starring in disbelief, though I already knew she was wearing a sweater with her name on it!
"How'd he do that...?!?"
"So welcome all ye!
To the Tent of Telepathy...!
And thanks for visiting...
Little ol' me!!!"
He danced a little more before stopping, clearly exhausted as the audience applauded him.
"Thank you!!! You people are the real miracle!!!"
Mabel of course cheered for him, and we left the tent soon after. "Man, that kid's an even bigger fraud than Stan!"
(y/n) chuckled. "And that says a lot! No wonder he's jealous!"
"C'mon, his dance moves were adorable!!! And did you see his hair?!? It was like whoosh!!!" She said as she threw her hands back in explanation.
"You're too easily impressed." I said, making her poke me as we all laughed, walking away.
The next morning I was sitting on the dining table drinking some water when Mabel came in with a face filled with-... sparkles?
"Check it out, I've successfully bedazzled my face!!!Blink!!!" She tried to blink, but her expression fell at the pain. "Ow..."
"Is that permanent?" I asked, kinda worried.
She looked down. "I'm unappreciated in my time..."
That's when the doorbell rang, Stan yelling from another room. "Somebody answer that door!!!"
Mabel wiped off the sparkles before running to the door. She didn't return after that, but I just ignored it.
~~~~~~~~~Mabel's POV~~~~~~~~~

I had spent a few hours with my new best pal Gideon, and I had only just returned home, seeing Dipper and (y/n) checking something out from his journal.

"Hey, guys, what's going on~?!?" I said as I waved my long pink fingernails in front of them, both flinching at the sight.

They both sat up, Dipper looking at me. "Woah, where have you been?!?"

"And what's up with this fingernails, you look like a wolverine!" (y/n) continued as she titled her head.

"I know, right?!? Rawr!!! I was hanging out with my new pal Gideon, he's one dapper little man!"

"Whoa, you were with Gideon?" I nodded with a smile at (y/n)'s question, but she didn't seem happy with my choice. "Look, M, I'll admit I do get a good laugh at seeing him fail at using magic, but overall, the dude gives me a weird vibe, I don't think you should be spending time with him."

"Oh, leave him alone! You never want to do girly stuff with me!" I looked at Dipper, now a bit annoyed. "You and Soos get to do boy stuff all the time."

"What do you mean?" Just as Dipper asked, Soon stepped into the room.

"Hey dudes, you ready to blow up these hotdogs in the microwave one by one?"

"Am I?!?" They both ran out of the room.

(y/n) then looked at me. "If you classify that as boy stuff then something wrong with you cuz I'm a girl and that sounds awesome!!!" She ran out the room. "Hey guys, wait up!!!"

I let out a sigh. They just don't get me!

The next day, I left to hang out with Gideon again. At the time we were on the roof of Gideon's family factory on a hill looking at the town.

"Whoa, the view from your family's factory's nuts!!! Good thing we both brought our..."

"Opera glasses!!!" We laughed after speaking in synch. He's so awesome, like the sister I always wanted!

"You know, Mabel, when I'm up here looking down on all them little people, I feel like I'm king of all I survey...!!! I guess that makes you my queen!!!" He looked at me with a smile.

"Whaaat?!? You're being so nice to me right now!!! Quit it!!!" I said as I playfully punched his arm.

He only looked up with a warm smile. "I can't quit it, I am speaking from the heart!"

"From the where now?"

"Mabel, I've never felt this close with anyone, so so close...!!!"

He offered his hand to pet my hair, each time he tried I just pushed his hand away. "Look, Gideon, I um... I like you a lot, but let's just be friends.."

"At least just give me a chance! Mabel, would you do me the honor of going on a date with me?"

I narrowed my eyes a bit with an awkward smile. "A play date?"

"M-m."

"A shopping date?"

"It'll just be one little ol' date! I swear on my lucky bolo tie!" He grabbed his tie, looking at me with puppy eyes.!

"Um... Ok then, I guess.."

"Mabel Pines, you have made me the happiest boy in the world!!!" He wrapped me in a hug, making me let out an awkward chuckle, but I tensed up at a weird feeling.

"... are you sniffing my hair?"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It's not a date date, it's just you know, I didn't want to hurt his feelings, so I figured I'd throw him a bone." I said as I explained to Dipper what happened yesterday, playing our favorite joystick game.
"Mabel, guys don't work that way, he's gonna fall in love with you."
"Pfft, yeah right, I'm not that lovable." I defeated Dipper, throwing my arms up with a triumphant smile. "Kaboom, yes!!!"
He placed the controller on the ground with a salty expression. "Ok, we agree on something here."
I ran to the door as I heard the doorbell, screaming as a horse popped when I opened the door, Gideon sitting on it.
"A night of enchantments awaits, m'lady!"
"... Oh boy."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

At the time, Gideon and I were sitting at a booth inside a very fancy restaurant. "I can't believe they let us bring in a horse in here!"

"Well, people have a hard time saying no to me." He said with a smile, which kinda freaked me out, to be honest.

The waiter then walked over. "Ah, Monsieur Gideon! Ze feet on ze table! An excellent choice!"

"Jean Luc, what did we discuss about eye contact?" He said with a glare, the waiter looking away.

"Yes yes, very good!"

I looked down at the table. "I've never seen so many forks!!! And water with bubbles in it?!? Ooh la la, oui oui!!!"

"Oh! Parlez vous francais?" He said with a small smirk, but uh....

".... I have no idea what you're saying."

~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~
I was in the gift shop with Dipper, Wendy, and Soos. Mabel was nowhere in sight but I just shrugged it off. We were doing our one things in silence when Stan walked in holding a newspaper, clearly not happy.
"Hey!!! What the jackal is Mabel doing in the paper next to that greasy pickpocket Gideon?!?"
Wait, what?!?
"Oh yeah, it's like a big deal! Everyone is talking about Gideon and Mabel's big date tonight!" Wendy explained as she showed us a picture on her phone.
"What?!?!?!? That little shyster is dating my great niece?!?!?!?"
Soos looked up in thought. "I wonder what the new name will be for the power couple! Mabideon? Gideabel? Magibeleon!!!"
Stan then threw the newspaper on the ground before storming off, Dipper yelling at him. "I didn't know, I didn't hear about it!!! Plus (y/n) and I told her not to!!!"
"Yeah well, it ends tonight!!!" He walked back in, now wearing his suit. "I'm going right down to that little skunk's house!!! This is gonna stop right now!!!" And just like that, he left.
Soos turned to us. "Dude, wouldn't it be funny if that was a closet and he had to come back out again and walk out the real door?"
We all stared at him. The dude is so random.
"Nope, real door."
~~~~~~~~~Mabel's POV~~~~~~~~~

"And so I said: 'Autograph your own headshots, lady!!!'" Gideon laughed as he finished his story.

I laughed awkwardly, feeling bad for the person in the story and for the lobster that was on my place, which was alive too. "Yeah..."

He then looked at me. "Mabel, tonight's date was a complete success, and tomorrow's date promises to top this one in every way!"

My eyes widened. "Whoa whoa, you said just one date, and this was it!"

"Hark, what a surprise!!! A red christened South American rainbow macaw!!!" An exotic looking bird landed on his arm. I let out a scream as I took the lobster, making sure the bird wouldn't eat it.

"One two three four..."

"Mabel. Will. You. Accompany. Gideon. To. The ballroom. Dance. This. Thurbday." Gideon shook his arm, startling the bird. "Thursday." And then it coughed out an invitation before flying away.

"Hah, so adorable!!!" I heard an unfamiliarity voice say, making me see a lot of people walking over.

"Gideon's got a girlfriend!!!"

He took the invitation, smiling at me. "They're expecting us, please say you'll go!"

"Aww!!!"

I didn't want this, I really didn't! He's a great guy, but I don't think of him that way!

"Oh Gideon, I'm sorry but I'm gonna have to say..."

"I'm on the edge of my seat!!!"

"This is gonna be adorable!!!"

"If she says no, I'll die from sadness!!!"

"I can verify that that will indeed happen."

What do I do...?!?

~~~~~~~~~Your POV~~~~~~~~~
Later on we were in the living room. Dipper was reading his journal while I practiced a few simple spells on Aiden since Stan wasn't home, when Mabel came in holding... a lobster?
"Hey, how'd it go?" said Dipper as he saw his sister.
Mabel DIDNT look at us, walking over to the fish tank and placing the lobster inside. "I don't know... I have a lobster now..."
"Aiden gets a little friend!" I said, gently scratching my little buddy's head, getting a happy squeak from him.
Dipper looked back at his journal. "Well, at least it's over and you won't ever go out with him again!"
Mabel remained quiet, making us both look over. I raised an eyebrow. "M, it's over, right?"
"BLARG!!! He asked me out again and I didn't know how to say no!" She turned to us, waving her arms around in distress.
Dipper pointed at his mouth. "Like this! 'No!'"
"It's not that easy, guys!!!" She walked over to us. "And I do like Gideon, as a friend slash little sister!!! So I didn't want to hurt his feelings!!!"
"Mabel, the more you keep this up, the worse it'll be! I told you before, Gideon isn't someone you should hang out with!" I said, placing Aiden on the table.
Her gaze soon turned into a glare. "Well how was I suppose to know he was clingy?!? It's not my fault!!!"
I was stunned a bit by her words, and I won't lie they got me a little angry. "I never said it was your fault!"
"You're implying it is!!! As my friend, you should be trying to help me, not throw all the blame on me!!!" With that, she stormed out, leaving me wide eyed.
What the hell did I do to get her so angry at me?!?
I growled, soon feeling Dipper's hand on my shoulder. "Don't get so worked up over it, she can be very explosive when she's stressed."
I stayed silent, taking a deep breath before leaning back on my chair, Aiden jumping onto my shoulder and snuggling against me for comfort.
~~~~~~~~~Dipper's POV~~~~~~~~~

I couldn't stop Mabel from going on that date, but I had at least calmed her down a little. A few hours after that, I went downstairs to get a snack when I heard someone speaking in the living room.

My sister was pacing around, talking to herself in a panic. "He's so nice but I can't keep doing this, but I can't break his heart!!! Ah, there's no way out!!!"

I quickly walked over, now worried. "What in the heck happened on that date?"

"I don't know!!! I was in the friend zone, and then before I knew what was happening he pulled me into the romance zone!!! It was like quicksand!!! Chubby quicksand...!!!"

"Mabel, c'mon, it's not like you're gonna have to marry Gideon." But because luck hates us, that's when Stan walked into the room.

"Great news, Mabel, you have to marry Gideon!!!"

"WHAT?!?"

"It's part of my long term deal with Buddy Gleeful. There's a lot of cash tide up in this thing~! Plus I got this shirt! ... Woah, I am fat."

Mabel screamed as she ran out of the room, leaving me in worry. I quickly ran up to find her, seeing her hiding in her sweater. "Oh no, Mabel-"

"Mabel's not here, she's in sweater town..."

I walked over, kneeling in front of her. "Are you going to come out of sweater town...?" She shook her head in response with a small whimper.

I stood up with a sigh. "Alright, enough is enough! If you can't break up with Gideon, then I will do it for you."

"You will?!?" She looked up at me, and I nodded. "Oh thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!!!" She hugged my tightly as I chuckled a bit, soon pulling away.

I called (y/n) to meet me in front of the restaurant so she could help me. It took a bit of convincing, but she agreed. Once there, the two of us went inside, seeing Gideon at one of the booths.

"Ahem."

I looked up from his menu, smiling at us. "Oh, Dipper Pines, (y/n) (l/n), how are you? You look good, you look good!"

"Uh, thanks? Look, Gideon, we gotta talk. Mabel isn't joining tonight, she uh..."

"She doesn't want to see you anymore. She's weirded out by you." (y/n) continued my sentence, and I quickly tried to soften the blow.

"No offense!"

"So what you're saying is... you've come between us..." I don't know if it was just me, but I could see his eye twitch as he spoke.

I gulped a bit. "You're not gonna like... freak out or anything, are ya...?"

"... of course not, this things happen! *chuckles* Bygones, you know." He gave his usual smile, waving it off, making me let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks for understand, dude." (y/n) said as she gave a small smile.

"Again: sorry, man, but uh... hey thumbs up, huh?" I gave an awkward smile, not really knowing what to do.

After that, we left the building, seeing Mabel waiting for us outside with a worried look. "How'd it go? Was he mad? Did he try to read your minds with his psychic powers?"

"Don't worry, Mabel, he's just a kid. He doesn't have any powers." I said with a shrug.

Then again, (y/n)'s the same age as us and she has magic.

I noticed Mabel look at (y/n) who turned away, avoiding eye contact, my sister looking down in shame. I bet she felt bad for how she blew up at (y/n)..

The next day, Mabel and I were playing with Soos. He had a pillow under his shirt, and we kept running into him.

"Hit me, dude!"

Mabel and I both ran into his stomach, falling after as we all laughed.

Mabel then sat up. "I'm so glad everything's back to normal!" She looked around, her expression soon falling.

I tilted my head. "Mabel..?"

"Sorry, I was just looking for (y/n).. I wanted to apologize for the way I acted.."

I let out a small sigh, placing a hand on her shoulder. "She'll be back tomorrow for work."

"... yeah..."

That's when we heard the phone ring. "Your turn!"

"Your tu- aw man..." I tried to say it first, but Mabel beat me to it. I went inside, picking up the phone. "Yello?"

"Toby Determined, Gravity Falls gossiper!!!"

"Oh, hey man! Sorry for accusing you of murder last week."

"Water under the bridge!!! Say, we wanna interview you about wether you've seen anything unusual in this here town since you've arrived!!!"

I smiled to myself, taking a notebook and pen. "Ah, finally, I thought nobody would ever ask!!! I have notes and theories! Aha, aha! Four, one, two, Gopher Road. Tonight? Got it!"

Yes, the question I have been waiting for!!! I called (y/n), telling her about it, and we planned to meet later to go over. After that I went back outside and waited for tonight.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nightfall started to come and we was making my way to our destination. We arrived at an abandoned warehouse out in the middle of nowhere. A part of me was hesitant to go in, and (y/n) as well.
"Are you sure this is the place?" She asked, tucking some of her hair back.
I looked down at my note. "It has to be."
She took a deep breath, crossing her arms. "I hope you're right about this, or else you won't here the end of it. ... That is, if we come out alive..."
She opened the door, both of us going inside.
"Hello?"
I heard (y/n) shudder. "God this place is creepy.."
"Noted.."
We decided to leave, but before we could the doors closed by themselves! I looked at (y/n), who gave me a confused and slightly frightened expression. We then turned around to see someone in a chair faces the opposite way from us.
"Hello friends~!"
"Gideon?!?" We stared in surprise, seeing him pet a plush toy of himself. Talk about disturbing.
"(y/n) (l/n), you probably know a lot about this town since you've lived here your whole life, don't you?" He said as he gave her a smile.
She looked at me before giving a tiny shrug. "I guess so..?"
He then looked at me. "Dipper Pines, how long have you been living in this town. A week, two? You look it here? Enjoy the scenery?"
"What do you want from us, man?" I said as I gave him a glare.
However, he returned it with even more anger. "Listen carefully, boy, this town has secrets you couldn't begin to comprehend."
"Is this about Mabel?"
(y/n) let out a frustrated sigh. "We told you she's not into you!"
"Liar!!! You turned her against me!!!" He began to walk towards (y/n) and I as he tightened his grip on his amulet. "She was my peach dumpling!!!"
"Are you ok, man...?"
I started feeling very strange, looking down as I let out a gasp, seeing myself floating above the ground. He then threw me into a pile of boxes, which thankfully were pretty soft.
I grew pale as he began walking towards me. "Reading minds isn't all I can do."
"But- but you're a fake!"
"Oh tell me Dipper, is this fake?" He raised his arm, so many things started to float, throwing them all at me. My eyes widened, quickly placing my arms in front of me for protection.
"From toe to head, shield us from the dangers ahead!!!"
I looked up to see (y/n) standing in front of me, holding a (f/c) shield as all the objects crashed into it.
Gideon stared in shock, which quickly turned into anger. "WHAT?!? How are you able to do that?!?"
"None of your business, Hair Spray!!!" She yelled back, the shield disappearing.
He lifted up a lot more objects, and I quickly grabbed (y/n)'s arm as we avoided the falling objects, crashing into the wall as we avoided a shelf. "Grunkle Stan was right, you are a monster!!!"
"You're sister will be mine!!! He laughed, a smirk spread across his face, then pulled the cord on a Gideon plush who laughs evilly along with him.
I looked at a baseball bat nearby, quickly grabbing it and running to Gideon, swinging it to hit him when he pointed his hand to me, raising me off the ground.
"Leave him alone!!!" (y/n) ran to him, suddenly stopping as Gideon pointed his hand to her.
I growled. "She's never gonna date you man!!!"
"That's a lie!!! And I'm gonna make sure you never lie to me again, friend...!!!" He raised up some shears which floated over to me, my blood running cold as I tried to struggle from his grip, hearing (y/n) yell my name.
"Gideon, we have to talk!!!"
We looked to see Mabel standing in front of the doors, a serious expression on his face, and I noticed Gideon's frightened expression.
"Mabel, my marshmalla!!!"
"I'm sorry, Gideon, but I can't be your marshmallow..." She looked down, rubbing her arm.
It started becoming harder to breath as Gideon tightened his grip on his amulet. "I don't understand..."
"M-Mabel!!! This probably isn't the best time to be brutally honest with him!!!" I managed to choke out.
Mabel smiled at him. "Hey, but we can still be makeover buddies, right?"
He looked back up at her, a shy smile on his face. "Really...?"
However, to our surprise, she yanked off his tie in anger, both (y/n) and I being set free from his grip. "No, not really!!! You were like attacking my brother and best friend?!? What the heck?!?"
"My tie!!! Give it back!!!"
She threw the amulet at me, and I backed away to catch it. "Hah, not so powerful without this, are you?!?" He then tackled me out the window.
Me and my big mouth.
We fought for a while until we noticed ourselves about to hit the ground, but were stopped just before we did. I looked up to see Mabel and (y/n) floating down, using Gideon's amulet.
They landed on the ground, Mabel with a glare on her face. "Listen, Gideon, it's over. I will never ever date you."
"Yeah!"
She let go of the amulet, both of us being dropped in the ground with a thud. (y/n) stepped on the amulet, shattering it to many pieces.
"My powers!!!" He looked up, glaring daggers at us. "Oh this isn't over, this isn't the last you'll see *whispers* of widdle ol' me...!" With that, he disappeared into the darkness of the forest, leaving us speechless.
Once back home, we all sat on the living room couch, exhausted from the experience. I noticed Mabel fiddling with her hair, a defeated look on her face.
I gently nudges her shoulder before nodding, and she then took a deep breath. "(y/n)...?"
"Hm..?"
"I uh... I'm sorry for being so mean to you... I was under a lot of pressure, and I just got mad at you for no reason..."
(y/n) gently placed a hand on her shoulder, a small smile on her face. "It's alright, M, I get that you were in a complicated situation."
Mabel smiled back. I'm glad they made up!
Stan then walked in as he placed a painting of a very disturbing clown.
"I coulda had it all... What the heck happened to you three?"
"Gideon." The three of us said one after the other.
"Gideon, yeah, the little mutant swore vengeance on the whole family. I guess he's gonna try to nibble my ankle or something." He said as he walked over.
My eyes widened a bit in realization. "Oh yeah. Yeah, how's he gonna destroy us now, huh? Try to guess what number we're thinking of?"
Mabel day up with a gasp. "He'll never guess what number I'm thinking of. Negative eight! No one would guess a negative number!"
We all laughed at her sentence. Gideon had no way to defeat us!
Thanks for reading!!! 'Till next time!!!
❤️❤️❤️
