(Chapter 30- Arrival)

“Please don’t fight over me.” I finally managed to say. “If something happened to you or Chase I’m sure it would kill me.”

Don sighed and replied. “Ok. But I can't speak for Chase."

"I'll ask him."

"Try talking to him him through your mind link." Don suggested.

“I can’t it doesn’t work.” I said remembering when I spoke to Chase earlier.

“Wait I think I know why.” Don said pulling out his phone. “It’s the barrier.”

Ashlyn's POV

Don had pulled down the barrier temporarily for me to contact Chase. I didn’t know what I was going to say to him yet but I had to think of something fast or else it may be too late.

I close my eyes and tried to search for his mind. I was about to talk to him until I heard what he was thinking.

‘Attacking Don tomorrow is the only chance I have of getting Ashlyn back or she may be lost forever. I hope Don has not brain washed her and it is too late for us.’

There was a pause for a second.

‘Wait what am I thinking it’s not too late. I‘ll never give up on her, ever. We are soul mates. Two halves of a whole. To souls meant to be together forever. I could never give up on that.’

Hearing him think that made me smile but also made me sad. He was still going to fight tomorrow no matter what and there is nothing I can do to stop it. I doubt Chase will even listen to me but I have to try.

‘Chase.’

‘Ashlyn are you ok?’

‘Yes I’m fine but I need to tell you something.’

‘What?’ He asked.

‘Don’t fight tomorrow. Don agreed not to fight if you don’t.’

‘Why would I do that Ashlyn he is holding you there?’

‘I know but it for a reason. He has my son and I’m not leaving without him.’

‘I thought you might say that.’

‘Chase if you love me or ever loved me then you have to accept all of me. I have a child now but that shouldn’t change things between us. I still love you just as much now as I did before.’

He didn’t respond and I thought we had been cut off again until he spoke again.

‘Love him to don’t you?’

I knew this was coming eventually. I had to tell him the truth.

‘I do. I’m sorry but it’s not as strong as what I feel for you.’

‘But you still love him.’

‘I love you more Chase don’t you get that. I choose you but I can’t make my feelings for Don disappear.’

‘Then what do we do?’

‘Come here and lets work this out with no fighting.’

Chase grew silent and I wasn’t sure what that meant but I had a feeling he was thinking it over. What other choice did he have unless he wanted a blood bath? This was the only possible solution.

“Alright I’ll be there soon.”

“Thank you. I love you Chase.”

“I love you to, always.”

I cut off the mind link and turn my attention back to don. He was staring at me intently waiting for me to speak. I know he was wondering what happened.

“I linked with him and he’s coming to talk. He’ll be here today.” I said.

“On his own?” Don questioned.

“I don’t know but I don’t think he will fight and I’m hoping you keep your word and don’t either.”

“You have my word that if Chase doesn’t fight then neither will I.” He said.

“Thank you.” I replied.

“Go back to sleep we still have a while until morning.” He said and I didn’t disagree.

I was pretty tired and needed to be rested for tomorrow. I needed all my energy in case I had to do something to keep the peace. There is no way I would let either of them fight while I was around. I refuse to let anyone get hurt.

I laid back on the bed and closed my eyes and felt Don lay down next to me. For once since I’ve been here I actually had hope that things may work out after all. I don’t know how but I felt that they could. With that being my last thought I sank into darkness.

Chase’s POV

“What’s the news?’ Josh asked.

“She wants me to come there and not fight. She says Don won’t as long as I don’t.”

“Do you believe that?”

“No. I think he wants us to come unprepared and then attack.” I said.

Josh nodded his head. “I think your right. We need to go prepared and have our allies hid until we are ready for them to come out and fight.”

“Agreed.” I smiled. “We will get Ashlyn Crystal back if it’s the last thing I do.

Don’s POV

“Permission to enter Sir.” Gene said.

“Permission granted. What do you need?”

“Sir we have a palace car pulling up to the gates.” Gene said entering my office. “How would you like us to handle it?”

“Have you my men surround the car until we know who it is.” I ordered.

“Yes Sir.” Gene bowed and left.

I wasn’t expecting anyone from the palace until later today so it must be someone beside’s Chase.

I stood from my desk and walked out of my office and to the front gate. There were about 20 men standing around the car waiting for them to step out.

Gene walked to the door and slowly opened it. I took a cautious stance until I saw who stepped out and relaxed.

“Stand down.” I ordered looking at the guards.

“I’m surprised to see you here.”

Crystals POV

“I’m surprised to see you here.” Don said.

“And I’m surprised you don’t see me as a threat.” I challenged.

He laughed humorously. “Should I?”

He didn’t quite know what I was capable of and that was ok because he would find out soon enough if it was needed. It was best that way anyhow so I would have the element of surprise on my side.

“Maybe who knows?” I said. “I came to see Ashlyn where is she?”

“With River in the back come I’ll show you.” He said smiled.

I hesitantly followed Don the back of the mansion and quickly realized he wasn’t lying. I saw Ashlyn running around trying to catch River. She looked like such a natural mother with him. I am surprised how quick she picked that up.

“We have company.” Don announced getting Ashlyn attention.

She looked at me in surprise and shock. “Crystal what are you doing here? You are supposed to be at the palace.”

“I know but we need to talk.”

Ashlyn’s POV

The seriousness in Crystal’s voice immediately got my attention. The fact that she was risking coming back here after what all she had been through and I’m guessing without Josh’s permission then It must be important.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

She looked at Don then added. “Privately.”

I looked to Don who didn’t look to happy about that but I knew she wouldn’t tell me otherwise.

“Ok.” I agreed.

Before leaving I turned to Don. “You can trust me. I’ll be back I promise.”

I nodded his head in agreement and didn’t argue it or stop me so I left leading Crystal into a private room in the mansion.

“What’s happened?” I asked.

“I just came from the palace and talking with Chase.” She said. “I am just here to warn you he is set out for revenge.”

“You must be mistaken because I just spoke with him and he is agreed not to fight.” I said.

“That may be but you should still prepared. Chase looked pretty determined to me. I don’t think he is one to let this go.” She stated.

I stayed silent taking in everything she said. Could she be right? Is Chase still going to fight anyway? He wouldn’t ever lie to me though. This has to me a mistake.

“I don’t think he will fight.” I said.

“But if he does have you decided what you are going to do?”

“You know I love Chase but I also have River now. I’m still not completely sure what to do.” I admitted.

Crystal smiled at me sadly before speaking. “You need to take river and leave. It would crush Chase into a thousand pieces if you left him. I don’t think he could deal with it.”

“I want to but what about Don? How can I take his son away from him like that?”

“You just have to. It’s either Don or Chase. You know you have to choose.” She said.

“It’s more complicated than that.” I said growing frustrated.

“Then uncomplicated it. All you have to do is ask yourself one question. Who would it kill you the most to give up?”

I knew the answer to that immediately. It was a simple question really and the answer to it would always be the same. It would forever and always be Chase. I would always love him most. He has been my first everything and has been there for me since the beginning. He has never deserted me or left me behind and has been the best friend a girl could ask for. That is why it would always be Chase.

“Chase.” I said. “The answer is Chase.”

“I thought so and don’t worry about Don I’ll take care of him.”

“What will you do? Don’t hurt him.”

“I won’t come on I’ll show you.” She smiled. “It time to learn what I can do.”

I followed Crystal back out to where Don and River were but immediately stopped in my tracks when saw they weren’t alone. Chase and Josh were also here and they didn’t look to happy.

“Mommy who is that?” River asked when he saw me starring at him.

“No one.” Don answered quickly.

Chase quickly spotted me and ran to me. Before I could even blink he was holding me in his arms planting kisses on my face. I forgot just how much I enjoyed being held by him.  As I was about to react he was pulled off of me and thrown to the ground. Don stood over him with an angry look on his face. It was a looked the scared me to the core. I had never seen him so mad.

“Don’t touch my mate.” Don roared.

Chase got up from the ground and charged at Don. “Don’t touch my wife.”

Before the fight could go any further I quickly grabbed River and took him inside followed by Crystal.

“I’ll stay here with him. You go stop the fight.” She said.

I agreed and went back out to put a stop to the madness before someone was killed.

Sorry for another short chapter but I didn’t have a lot of time to write on it and I wanted you guys to have something. I hope you enjoyed it and leave me lots of comments. Don fans don't hate me. I have something planned for him. 

The end is nearing very soon so chapter 32 or 33 will be the one last then I will start the sequel. It will be up within One- Two weeks of my last chapter.

Also who is excited to see what Crystal can do? Anyone want to guess???
