(Chapter 13- Relationships)

"What brought this on?" Chase asked surprised.

"I don't want to be helpless I want to help." I stated.

"I have to admit it feels great to hear you say you want to be like me." He smiled.

"I do. I want to help anyway I can. I don't want to lose you or anyone else for that matter. You mean too much to me." I confessed.

Chase brought me into his arms and held me to him. I responded by holding him back. His scent was so over powering it made me want to go weak in the knees. I clutched on the Chase like if I let go he would leave me. Chase held me in his strong arms so careful and lovingly. Right now I could feel what he is feeling and I was feeling the same.

"Chase?"

"Yeah"

"I...I love you."

Chase pulled back in surprise and looked at me. He had a look of shock on his face like her couldn't believe me words. I meant them though. I meant every word. I loved Chase from the bottom of my heart. It used to be as a friend but now it's become more. I want to be with Chase in every way. I want to love him and him love me. I stood on my tiptoes and gently placed a kiss on Chase's lips.

"You mean it?" He questioned.

"Yes, I mean it. I never thought I could love you this way but it seems I was wrong. I love you and I want you Chase, in every way." I finished.

"I love you too Ashlyn." He smiled in delight.

Chase leaned in to kiss me. His lips touched mine gently making me moan. I kissed back but rougher and he responded the same way. Chase picked me up by my butt and wrapped my legs around his waist. He kissed down my jaw line then made his way to my neck. His touch sent electric shocks all over my body. I craved his touch even more now.

Chase carried me over to the bed and laid me down. We continued kissing until it wasn't enough for me anymore. I flipped us around so that I was straddling him now. I kiss his mouth then made my way to his neck. Once I found the spot I sucked on it until I was pleased making him moan in return. When I was done he had a purple mark at the base of his neck. I smiled at my work. I just marked Chase I laughed to myself. He never let anyone mark him before.

Chase snaked his hands up my shirt rubbing his all over me. I felt him pulling at the hem so I raised my arms. Chase pulled of his top as well. When he did I almost fell over at the sight of his muscles, they were sexy. He looked so ripped and fit. I couldn't help myself from running my hands over them. Within minutes Chase was back on top again planting kisses all over me. I started to unbutton my pants but Chase stopped me.

"Are you sure about this?" He questioned seriously.

"Completely sure." I answered and we continued.

(I don't think I need to explain the rest. I think you all get it. PS: Not good at sex scenes.)

That night was the best night of my life. I'm so glad that Chase was my first. I Knew I could trust him with it. After all I was in love with my best friend. I can't believe I never gave him a chance before. If I did I could have been a lot happier. Chase makes me happy. I finally understood how much he loved me.

I woke the next morning with Chase starring down at me smiling. He was propped up on one elbow looking at me. I know most people would have thought it was weird but I thought it was sweet.

"Have you been watching me sleep?" I smiled.

"Only for the last 10 minutes." He stated. "You're beautiful when you're sleeping."

"Just when I'm sleeping?" I teased.

"Of course not, you're always beautiful." He smiled.

"Well thank you." I blushed.

Wow Chase was making me blush now. This is new. I loved these new feelings that have taken me over. I felt that Chase and I were closer now and we were in love. I truly felt it now and I wish I would have from the beginning. Things would have been a lot better for us if I did.

"Are you hungry?" He questioned.

"Yeah for you." I flirted.

"Are you hitting on me?" He laughed.

"What do you think?"

"I think we should feed you then do something about that."

We both got up and got dressed. Chase called down to the kitchen for some breakfast and had it sent up. Once it arrived I noticed that there was only food for me. Where was Chase's food? I know he is a vampire but shouldn't there be a blood bag or something like that? I never asked him how he eats. That would be a good question to ask him now.

Chase took the tray off the cart and put it on the table in my room. I sat down and began eating with Chase just watching me. I didn't care though because I was hungry.

"Chase why don't I ever see you eat?" I asked.

"Because you wouldn't like it." He stated.

"Do you feed off humans?"

"Yes."

"Do you kill them?" I asked. I really hope he doesn't. That would be wrong. I couldn't imagine Chase being a killer.

"No, I find them and feed than make them forget. I don't like to kill and just because I am a vampire don't mean I should. They only reason I would kill is to protect something I love." He stated.

I believed him because I witnessed that the day we saved Crystal. Chase and Josh took care of him quick. I'm glad they did or he probably would have killed Crystal. That thought scared me. The thought of anyone that I cared about dead scared me. This reminds me. When am I getting changed?

"Chase when will you change me?" I asked him.

"Well it's supposed to happen on the wedding night so I guess in two weeks."

"Can't we make it happen any sooner?" I questioned.

"Ashlyn I will protect you don't worry."

"Yes but who is going to protect you?" I argued.

"I will protect myself to don't worry."

"But I do worry. I worry about you and the family and our friends. I want to have time to adjust to my new life before we have to fight."

"Who said you were fighting?" He questioned.

"I did. I'm going to protect everyone I can including you." I stated.

"No I don't want you to get hurt." He said seriously.

"I will be if you leave me human when this all happens. I will be helpless against the vampires. You don't want that do you?"

"Alright I will see what I can do. Weddings take time to plan you know."

"I know. Just encourage them to speed things up."

Chase leaned over the table and kissed me on the head. His touch felt so nice I never wanted him to pull away. His lips lingered for a few seconds then he backed away. I got up from my chair and went to his side. I sat down in his lap and kissed him senseless. He knew where this was going and took me to the bed.

Crystal's POV

Josh and I were in our room watching the Notebook my favorite movie of all time. He must really like me if he is willing to suffer through this movie. I know guys don't normally go for this type of movie. He sat there quietly looking really uninterested in the movie, poor guy going through all this for me. Josh is a really good guy. I wonder how I never noticed him before and by before I mean before my best friend like him. That's still a little strange to me. I'm still not so sure about being with him since Ashlyn has liked him for so long. I know she says that she don't anymore but still.

I watched as the movie last little bit of the movie played out. Noah had snuck into Allie's room and lay down next to her. I wanted to cry right there. He grabbed her hand and held it. I wish I was in love with someone that much. I started getting teary eyed as I mouth the words with the movie.

Allie: Do you think our love can make miracles?

Noah: I do.

Allie: Do you think our love, can take us away together?

Noah: I think our love can do anything we want it to.

Josh got up and turned off the movie. "Well I think my manhood has suffered enough for one day."

"Come on it wasn't that bad." I defended.

"Your right it was worse." He argued.

"You know there is nothing wrong with a romantic movie. It doesn't make you any less of a guy." I smiled.

"I beg to differ."

I rolled my eyes at him not bothering to argue back. I figure there's no point. At least I got him to watch the movie even if he is complaining. He got out another movie and put it in then sat back down.

"What are we watching?"

"Red" He smiled.

"Is that an action movie?" I questioned.

"Yep" He said popping the p.

"I don't like action movies."

"Don't worry there is some romance in it too." He stated.

Ok this was not my idea of a date. I was hoping on maybe walking around Italy. Wouldn't that be the most romantic thing ever? On a date in Italy with a hot guy holding hands and exploring the city. The only thing missing is Josh speaking Italian.

"Why don't you speak Italian, isn't your family from here?" I inquired.

"Io parlo italiano." He replied.

"Wow that was totally hot. What did you say?"

"I said I do speak Italian."

I got really excited. I am in Italy with a goy guy that speaks Italian. What could be better than this? I always thought Italian was so hot.

"Say something else."

"Tu sei bello e mi piace come tutto quello che ti fa eccitato." (You are beautiful and I love how everything makes you excited.)

"I'm really starting to like you."

"Questo mi rende molto felice." (That makes me very happy)

I giggled. I know I sound like a love struck teen but hey I am who I am.

"Can we please go out and see Italy? I have always wanted to come here." I asked hopeful.

"Sure what would you like to do?"

"Explore the city" I said excitedly. I jumped up and ran to the door.

"Where are you going?" Josh called after me.

"To get Ashlyn I know she would love to go."

"How about we just make it an US thing. I think her and Chase would like some alone time."

I guess he may have a point. Well I guess it's just the two of us then. Not that I mind. In fact I don't mind at all. I think I may be warming up to Josh. He has already been better to me than any other boy friend I have had. He is amazing to be honest. He has been so polite and kind, I think I'm going to like being here. I can't wait to be a vampire. I wonder if it will be soon.

Josh took my hand and led me outside to a car waiting for us. It was a nice town car. The driver waited for us to get in before pulling away. Josh had him take us to this little café' outside of town. It was such a romantic setting. It was dusk and the restaurant had little lights lined all around the patio. There were little tables setting outside by the lights. I have always wanted to have dinner by candle light. The hostess led us both to a little table off to its self. We both took our seats and Josh ordered for us since I couldn't speak Italian. Well besides 'Non parlare di nuovo al vostro nonna' (Don't back talk your grandmother). My nana was part Italian but I didn't get a chance to learn much from her since she died when I was 10. Either way I don't think that phrase would help me here.

Our dinner came and it was delicious. I had the Chicken Marsala and he had Prosciutto Cotto. After dinner Josh took me to a wishing fountain. It was beautiful there. The water pouring from the fountain was so peaceful and relaxing. Josh and I sat on the edge of the fountain watching the water pour out. Josh pulled a coin from his pocket and kissed it before throwing it in.

"What did you wish for?" I asked out of curiosity.

"For you to say yes."

I looked at him puzzled for a moment until he pulled a box out of his pocket and got on one knee. Oh my gosh. Is he seriously getting ready to propose me here, in the most romantic place? He pulled the ring out of the box and positioned it at the top of my finger.

"Crystal I know you have not known me that long but I just want to say that I love you. I know this seems sudden but I know we belong together. I want to spend the rest of forever with you the question is will you please spend it with me?"

Okay that was seriously the most romantic line I was ever heard. I never would have thought anyone could be so in love with me. This is the kind of proposal most people only dream about and I'm getting it. I can't believe it. I am marrying a hot vampire guy. Yes! He wants me. Oh wait I've not answered him yet.

"Yes Josh I will spend forever with you." I smiled.

Josh placed the ring on my finger and kissed me passionately. I kissed him back just as much. His lips were warm and soft against mine. I hope he never removes them. I think this is the happiest I have ever been.

Ashlyn's POV

I was woke up by a pounding at the door. It kept getting louder and louder. Who is being so annoying? I got out of the bed and put on a robe. I walked over to the door and answered it. Before the door was all the way open Crystal Burst through the door almost knocking me down.

"Guess what?" She screamed. Before I even got the chance to answer she spoke again." I'm getting married."

Wow Josh proposed. I think I might be a little jealous. Not because of Josh but because she is engaged. I wonder if Chase was going to ask me or if we were just going to get married. I hope it wasn't the later. I like a little romance to.

"Wow how did it happen?" I asked her.

She jumped in to the whole story. She told me about the dinner and the lights then the fountain. She told me how he proposed and what he said. It really did sound like a scene from a romantic movie or book.

"Will you be my Maid of honor?" She asked excited.

"Of course I will."

She screamed jumping up and down in excitement. I had to cover my ears. Chase raised his self out of bed coving his ears to. Oh crap I forgot Chase was asleep.

"Some people are trying to sleep you know." He grumbled.

"Sorry sleeping beauty." Crystal laughed.

I picked up Crystals hand she had the ring on and showed it to Chase.

"Look Josh and Crystal are engaged." I said trying to hide my jealousy.

"Great." He said still annoyed he was woken up.

"Well I have planning to do. I will catch you later." She said bouncing out the door.

I closed it and stomped over to the bed. I plopped myself down on it and crossed my arms. Chase studied me for a minute before asking me what was wrong.

"Were you ever going to ask me to marry you or were just assuming I would just do it?" I huffed.

"Is that way you're so upset?" He asked amused.

"I'm not upset." I said irritated.

Chase pulled me to him and rubbed my back.

"I guess you will just have to wait and see." He smiled mischievously.

Oh so he does have something planned. I got a little excited. I wonder what it is. Is it going to be romantic and sweet or out of the blue? I'm glad he didn't just expect me to just marry him with no proposal.

"We need to get ready we have a ball tonight." Chase said breaking me out of my thoughts.

"We do? I don't remember you telling me anything before." He could have at least told me before the day of.

"Sorry it must have slipped my mind." He said not sorry at all.

I have a feeling he’s up to something? He doesn't just forget. He may keep things from me but he doesn't forget. Chase got off the bed and got dressed. He went into the bathroom and fixed his hair before leaving the room. He wasn't gone two seconds before he stuck his head back in the door.

"Sorry to rush out, but my mom will be up soon to get you ready. I love you. See you tonight."

"I love you to." I smiled.
