I continued to stare at the photo on my own Instagram feed. There was nothing wrong with it. Just the fact that it's says were a couple and it's on somebody else's profile.

I switch my phone off and continue to pay attention to the lecture of why we need to save water. I found it boring but it was what I needed to learn to be able to succeed one day.

I sigh and rest my chin on my hand, I look up at the board and had no idea what the writing said. What if I don't make it into college?, I mean this is only year 12 but seriously.

I continue to listen to the lecture, until it's ten minutes before the lunch bell.

I pass a note to Nash.

Me: Hey

He passed it back to me giving me a hush look.

Nash: You should be paying attention!

Me: I just can't focus, you know I always hated school :(

Nash: Please try, I don't want to go to a different college than you.

Me: We'll always be together, promise!

Nash: What if I have a wife, will we be together then? ;)

Me: Yes we will, you want to know why?

Nash: Yes.

Me: Because I love you more than anyone in the world. You're my best friend.

Nash: Love you too.

I smile and tuck the note in the pocket of my track pants. I can't help but smile. That's all I could do now.

I wonder how many people from our school have seen the photo.

The bell was about to go in two minutes, so while the teacher wasn't looking I grabbed my books and went straight to my locker.

I shove my books inside my locker and grab my green Slytherin wallet, may be a little obsessed with Harry Potter. I held on to my wallet and started walking through the flood of younger grades. I see Mason putting his books away and I creep up behind him.

"Hey!" I say while squeezing him a hug from behind.

"Hey Kate" he finishes putting his books away. Once he's done he shuts his locker "I heard"

He heard what, some people should be more specific "What did you hear?"

"Well I saw the photo, are you and Nash dating?" This is when I realised I will be flooded with questions today.

I grab his arm and we start walking towards the cafeteria "Ugh no and I'm also not having a baby, it's just a rumour"

He smiles and nods and we take a seat at our usual table waiting for the others to come. I honestly didn't feel like having lunch so I don't grab anything.

Mason must really like Lily, he's been staring since he sat down. He's so innocent, he has this smile that could just stop your world. That's why he's my friend.

"You must really like her" I smile tapping his arm lightly.

"Yeah, I never knew she liked me back, we could've been a couple but I blew my chance" Guys don't get it, don't they?. They haven't blew their chance until the girl says so.

I stare at him in disbelief "Ugh Mason, you're making me cringe" He also didn't get lunch so he turns to face me with a 'why' look. "You haven't blown your chance, just ask her out"

"Will she say yes?"

"I guarantee you she will, I mean you're a great guy!"

"I don't know..."

"Mason Gillard!" I shout almost too loud "just ask the girl out already"

"Okay okay" he throws his hand up in defeat.

Just then Chelsea came waddling in with Molor. "OMG Kate is it true?" They both sat, Chelsea set her tray down and immediately started questioning me.

"Is what true?" I sigh, knowing the question she's asking already.

"Are you and Nash a thing?" She picks up her Banana and starts to peel the skin off it. "Oh and are you pregnant?"

"No I'm not its just a rumour" I've explained this do many times today it's starting to bug me. I hate it when people think that your guy best friend is your boyfriend, why can't I just be friends with a guy?.

Just then I saw Nash walk in with Kira Matins. They were holding hands. It was a very unusual sight, I've never seen Nash hang out with her. As they neared our table she stopped and kissed him softly on his lips. I was hit with a wave of jealousy. Nash is my best friend and he's the only person I see myself with. Seeing him with Kira is just too weird.

"Hey guys, this is my new girlfriend Kira" he looked really happy as he introduced us to her.

"Well that escalated quickly!" Molor says under her breathe.

"Hi" I say sourly.

Nash guides her to a seat opposite me, they sit down and Kira pipes up cheerfully "Hi, I'm Kira"

I know who you are, ugh.

She just kept talking "I'm Nash's girlfriend"

We are well informed, thank you.

"Uh how long have you guys been dating?"

"A week" Nash answers.

"A WEEK" I shout at Nash "why didn't you tell me"

Nash was about to say something when Kira rudely interrupted "Uh who is she and why does she need to know we're dating" she turns to Nash.

The whole table went silent.

"I'm his best friend and I deserve to know!" I shout back at her. It's amazing how you can hate someone in a minute.

"You sound more of a stalker than a best friend" ugh I hate her so much.

"Okay guys stop, yes Kate I should've told you I'm sorry. And Kira don't talk to Kate like that. She is my best friend and I knew her before I could even talk" Nash surprisingly stands up for me.

I was not expecting that at all. Everyone at our table remains silent, I don't know what to say. Kira tried to keep talking but her attempt failed miserably. I played a few games on my phone before putting it away. I was expecting someone to talk by now.

I sigh and get up from my seat "I'm going to arrange my locker, anyone wanna come?"

"I'll come" Nash volunteers, I can see the look on Kira's face and she's mortified.

I simply nod and Nash trails behind me, I push the doors open and we walk trough the hallway in silence before reaching my locker. I place the combination in the lock and pop it open. I start grabbing books and piling them on the bottom shelf. I gave Nash my pencil case to sort out.

I put my books in subject order on the top shelf and my bag on the bottom along with my other book bags. My locker wasn't really messy, I just wanted to get away from the awkwardness.

"Are you mad Kate?" Nash asks handing me back my newly organised pencil case.

"No I'm not mad" I put the pencil case back and shut my locker "I'm just angry that you didn't tell me"

"I'm sorry, I don't know why I didn't tell you. I just thought..." He had sympathy in his green eyes.

"Thought what?" I asked

He takes his hand through his hair"I don't know, never mind"

"You can date Kira if you want I won't get ma-"

I was cut off. Nash kissed me all of a sudden, his soft lips on mine. He cupped my face in his hands and he kissed me. I kissed him back but I pulled away after a while.

"Why did you do that?" I ask out of breathe.

"I don't know" he simply replies.

Woahhhhh Nash kissed Kate, whaaaa?!!!.

What about Kira?, will she find out?.
